Hello All, I've been working on optimizing an ABS profile in Cura 4.8.0 for printing a small test part (a miniature studded vase in this case), but I am running into issues with the outside surface quality of the first few layers. The part is printed in vase mode (spiralize outer contour) with the following basic settings: Printer: Airwolf3D AXIOM Dual Direct Drive Nozzle Size: 0.5 mm Layer Height: 0.25 mm Line Width: 0.5 mm Top/Bottom Thickness: 1.2 mm Print Temperature: 250 C Bed Temperature: 230 C Print Speed: 80 mm/s Outer wall Speed: 60

You were right Geert_2! the left stepper motor bolts became sightly lose. The belt was loose and the speed was causing the teeth to skip and causing the print to shift... tightened it up and all good thanks again

Maybe @fbrc8-erin as come across this problem before that you are having and she might know of some things to try.

Kein Problem, hast du das Handbuch noch, dort stehen einige Dinge über den Drucker und die Wartung. Eventuell kannst du es ohne Ausbau testen, zB. wenn du die Spannung vom Riemen nimmst, die Schrauben sind an der Außenseite vom Gehäuse, auf der Innenseite sitzt der Motor.

okay, thanks. I am trying reinstalling the firmware first it is actually pretty easy can be done right from the maintenance section. Will let you know if that works and if not I'll try the system reset

Ja danke Smithy. Meinst du ob ich mit dieser dummen Aktion die Geometrie meines Drucker verstellt oder kaputt gemacht habe ? Ich habe nur Angst das er jetzt beim Drucken die darauffolgenden Linien nicht mehr sauber gleichmäßig trifft, oder nicht mehr sauber im rechten Winkel druckt.

I would say so yes, because it resets all settings, so better to do them again to be safe.

Will I have to recalibrate x and y offsets after?

I would personally try a factory set on the printer. To do this go to the printers menu and pick settings - settings - and reset both "reset all printer settings" & "reset digital factory". If that don't work then maybe (If its able to be done) reinstalling the firmware might do the trick, hopefully someone here knows if this can be done and how to. But with luck doing the resets above will sort it.

Im 3D Druck ist es so, dass der Druckkopf zu Beginn nach links hinten fährt, dort sind 2 Microschalter. Das nennt man auch Homing. Dadurch weiß der Drucker exakt wo sich der Druckkopf befindet und von diesem Referenzpunkt kann er dann sehr exakt und genau jeden Punkt auf der Platte anfahren. Sobald du nun etwas blockierst oder was auch immer, stimmt das dann natürlich nicht mehr überein. Der Drucker weiß nicht, dass der Kopf blockiert wurde und denkt er ist eh noch immer auf der richtigen Position. Daher dann der versetzte Druck. Aber mach dir jetzt keinen Kopf darüber,

In the Cura printer settings, you have these 2 printer profiles and for each printer you have a Connect button where you can set the Octorprint instance and the API key. So you have to configure it for each printer. Maybe check that again and don't forget that you have to activate the printer you want to configure before.

wie meinst du das mit dem Hinderniss und rattern ? Würde dann auch mein Druck versetzt werden ? Kann man auf dem Foto sagen, das ich für circa 50mm den Antrieb/Riemen mit meiner blöden Pinselaktion blockiert habe?

Es kommt stark darauf an welche Eigenschaften du erwartest. Man kann nicht sagen, das ist das stärkste Material, weil was ist stark? Belastbarkeit auf Druck, Biegung etc. da gibt es viele Unterschiede. Ich empfehle dir einmal in den Marketplace von Ultimaker zu schauen, dort kannst du Materialien sortieren. Oder bei iGo3D findest du auch einen guten Filter nach Eigenschaften vom Filament. Das Markforged kenne ich nicht, kann daher auch nicht sagen ob das mit dem S5 druckbar ist. Das Ultrafuse kannst du nicht selbst sintern, das kannst du nur einschicken.

Just a power cycle

Have you done a factory reset on the printer? I know you said you restarted, but not sure if you meant a power cycle or a full factory reset.

My print jobs are "completing" in a matter of seconds. When I send the job from cura to my ultimaker s5 pro bundle via Wi-Fi it starts to get ready for the print and then moments later it says "finishing". I do not get the print completion screen. I have tried printing different files, with other materials and by using a usb drive to import the file instead of the internet connection. I have also restarted both the printer and Cura to no avail .

Thank you for the help. Slider blocks were fine however aligning the xy rods fixed the issue.
