  2. This is not the kind of rotated screen problem we have seen before. 1) When does this misformed screen show up? Is it straight from booting or later? 2) Can you send me the log files from your printer? Send here

    Ultimaker 3

The UM3 software is not available on github, so I have no clue to what you are actually asking. Did you mean a UM2?
  4. @nubnubbud Maybe the following will help (snippet from an internal page):
  6. I am using the GUI- but that's not the issue, I think. I've installed sip, but... there's not a single file with sipconfig in its name on my entire computer. note that I am completely unable to install python3-sip-dev or python3-dev because those are not released or otherwise available for windows, as far as I can tell, and that probably gives me issues. it's always just said SIP_DIR = SIP_DIR-NOTFOUND Do you know what's going on here? it seems someone somewhere knew about it, because there is no guide to building libarcus in windows, unlike all the other repos. it just says "Building the Python bindings on 64-bit Windows requires you to build with Microsoft Visual C++ since the module will fail to import if built with MinGW." but gives no other help. I've tried building with the visual studio dev command prompt, but nmake finds nothing to work with anywhere in C:\sip-4.19.17 (where I slapped the python-sip-dev source files).

  9. i can correct that myself (when i know what casuses it). i model for two decades but i am new to 3d printing. 🙂 i have downloaded a few STL files from thingiverse and they had errors (open edges etc) but sliced perfectly. so i thought the slicing software is very forgiving. but now i see what is probably causing the issue. i have not modeled this head with 3d printing in mind. but it should be no problem to fix this area of the model.
  10. If you have those kinds of areas Cura isn't always able to correctly identify them. Overlapping or disconnected faces can cause issues like the one you see. Your best option would be to check out some model repair services and see if that fixes the issue.
  11. not sure what that means im pretty new to cura. you mean overlapping faces? around the eye are some areas where faces from the skull overlap with the eyeballs, yes. the eyes are seperate in the original model for animation. is there an option in cura to just ignore the internal structure? to only look at the surface and treat the internal volume as solid?
  13. Did you check if the model is manifold? It looks like the model has errors in it.
  14. I think you have one folder too much (eg the zip contains a folder FlyingBearPlugin that contains a FlyingBearPlugin). Since all of the plugins are plugins, we also recommend you to not add "plugin" to the plugin name (soo change it to FlyingBear.zip that contains a folder called FlyingBear) You can also remove the .gitignore from the zip file. I've also tried running your plugin, but it initially crashed on me as you're using the wrong import (eg; you use import Queue but you should use from queue import Queue). After that I'm getting other crashes if I switch to the flyingbear stage (2019-05-21 12:56:00,265 - CRITICAL - [MainThread] cura.CrashHandler.__init__ [64]: model.setItemData(model.createIndex(i,0), {1:"",0:"False"}) 2019-05-21 12:56:00,265 - CRITICAL - [MainThread] cura.CrashHandler.__init__ [64]: RuntimeError: no access to protected functions or signals for objects not created from Pyth) Apart from that, you should not be adding a separate stage for what you are trying to do. The monitor stage already handles what you want to achieve. Have a look at how the UM3 plugin or the octoprint plugin handle this.
  15. @Smithy Danke schonmal.
  16. hello, why is this happening when i try to slice a model. i made this model and exported it as STL. but when i try to slice it parts are missing.
  17. Correct. Cura tries to save the log files to the place where it also stores the configurations. If this happens again, please create an issue on github.
  18. You might want to check in the cmake-gui where it's looking for the sipconfig files and manually point it to the right spot.
  19. This looks like severe underextrusion, which could be caused by a lot of factors: too low temperature, partially clogged nozzle, worn-out teflon couplers, incorrectly mounted bowden tube, dirty feeder, slipping feeder due to wrong tension, too high speed, wrong filament diameter or setting, too much friction in the whole feeding traject, spool wound too tight (often when almost empty), material decomposing in the nozzle, way too moist, and so on. Somewhere on this forum there is a good list of causes (but I don't remember the name exactly), or google for underextrusion causes on the internet. I made tests some time ago, and yours looks like an extrusion-rate of maybe 50%? (Pictures are a bit out of focus due to taken on a dark winterday, but you get the idea).
  20. I believe the U3Ext has the latest firmware. It's currently printing so I can't look it up. Huh! I didn't realize the .6mm ruby print core was "CC". No. I do not have one of those. I currently have both original AA 0.4mm cores. I own two AA 0.8mm's & a BB 0.8mm which have been installed at one time, but not now. I'll try a Cura Connect reset tomorrow and report back.
  21. After I had my WiFi card replaced at the reseller, I was able to update to the latest firmware successfully. So far so good. Although I've only done a few basic prints. And I can turn the frame light off!!! At last 🙂
  23. when you use ->preferences-> multiple build plates, a little window down left appears, where the numbers are visible and clickable. It seams to be a bit of a forgotten, unfinished, but handy feature.... you can click an item in the list and the model lights up, but if you click a model it is not highlighted in the list.. And you cannot drag the window, it is overlapping with the model text
  25. As far as I know, no - I have never seen such a counter.
  26. You didn't 🙂 The S5 has thicker rods, better stepper motors, filament sensor, multi bed leveling, better feeders, can print abrasive materials, bigger build plate, touch display, front cover (doors) which is important if you print materials which tend to warp. But the UM3 is also a great printer, except the filament sensor, I would say reliability is the same.
