Hey guys, it's been a while. I've been doing some new prints. I used 3d hubs to print some of the smaller parts on a form2 but the main bulk of these models where done on my Ultimaker2. I'd love to have the chance to use an Ultimaker3 and see what can be done without the restrictions of slicing my models into many many parts. Predator: This is my latest print I made for a lecture that I gave in Bulgaria last weekend. Alien: I made this guy for my lecture that I gave at IFCC 2016 earlier this year. His tail is missing in this image as I had to put him in a suitcase in order to get him to Croatia for IFCC VR Zombie: Another print made for IFCC 2016. This guy was really fun to make.

There will be more info later on, these posts took me more time then I planned. Maybe doing one once a week would be a better phasing. And yes, resting on day 7 was a bit symbolic :-)

The motor might reverse if you put in negative E steps. But that could also break things, didn't try that. Planning to make it easier to have a custom json file. This also helps us internally on various experimental machines. I took a quick look at doing this today, but the code was a bit more complex then a quick patch.

Wow thanks a lot that's really an option! I consider buying this in combination with the bondtech dual drive (like neotko uses them for 1,75mm, but in 2,85mm). As the bondtech parts are quite expensive I might machine them by myself. But before I get to the feeders I have to finish my dual printhead. It's almost done, I just have to rethink the heat brake..

PLEASE update the firmware to let us do it asap. We got a $150 fine last night for leaving our lights on at work. Well our lights were off... but our UM3's were running. Yes they are that bright! Not cool :-(

There is not: https://github.com/TinkerGnome/Ultimaker2Marlin/releases There is a plus and a dual but not both. I recommend you go with the iroberti feeder option and also strongly consider the meduza upgrade at the same time. tinkerMarlin lets you change steps/mm (but you can't go negative). 3dsolex has all the parts for the meduza kit but it's not on sale still at his store but if you email him he might send you one. Or you could get one from my store (I don't ship to germany from store normally but just email me and I'll send you a paypal request - these are very inexpensive kits): photo assembly guide: http://gr5.org/med/ The kit in my store (until 3dsolex sells these I'll ship international if you email me): http://thegr5store.com/store/index.php/meduza-feeder-upgrade-kit.html

Those are bloody fantastic. I could nit pick about things that doesn't quite fit my ideal for those particular monsters, but damn, who cares. Those sculpts, prints and most importantly, paint jobs, are amazing.

Yes it will be overwritten. we will probably have a way to override these files that is not overwritten when you update your machine in the future but be patient for that you can't reverse the direction from that file AFAIK (maybe we should add that... but for now that is still compiled into marlin)

Riser feet for easier "breathing". https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker2-big-feet or these https://www.youmagine.com/designs/3d-printer-feet-71d19cd6-4955-4abf-a8ae-50564997c580 Active cooling. https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-2-coolboard-duct-for-control-board-cooling I bought the parts for this, but ending up just using a clip on desk fan. Some day I will probably install it.

Update: Hooray, it appears fixed!! I received some excellent technical help from fbrc8 - it turns out the printhead cable (w/ 10 colored wires from the printhead to the Ultimainboard below the printer) became unseated and was only loosely connected, which caused the intermittent I2C errors. After reseating the bracket and the cable inside the printhead everything seems to be working properly again!

You should make a time lapse of how you print, process, paint and finish such amazing models
