  2. In my tests I wiped off the white residu with a paper tissue a few minutes after the acetone was dry, but the PLA still flexible. But I have to be very carefull how I handle the model, otherwise my fingernails get imprinted in it. If I pick it up too soon, when just dry, then my fingerprints also get into it. So, this is a great way to immortalise your fingerprints in PLA. :-) There is a spot where the model is hard enough to handle but not too hard, where wiping off works best for me. But I have 100% filled models, so the inside stays hard. I am not sure how it would work with you

  4. Hey, great idea! Hallo, grossartige Idee! There s no way to niggle the whole time! Time to show some positiv stuff! The Picture shows a little park bench for H0 1:87. It was created with Lightwave, sliced with cura and printet with an UMO+.

  5. As far as I remember the user (= you) that runs a software which should communicate with usb-ports must belong to the group "dialout" to use the ports. Give it a try, just open a terminal an type in sudo adduser xxx dialout where "xxx" is your username.

  6. Thanks Daid, that was enough clues to get me going. For anyone else who's interested; there were multiple causes for the behavior I was seeing, which is why I was so confused: The short version of the story: If you want to talk to your UM2 from pronterface, miniterm, or any other python app, simply set them to 250000 baud, but first upgrade your pyserial to the latest version from sourceforge SVN. (You need r469 or later -- pip doesn't have it yet). This may also be the solution if you're seeing timeouts while trying to upload new firmware to the UM2 from inside Cura. The standard 14.03
