  1. i have that kinda feeling as well. But I cant really complain.. I am getting really good prints.. even if I have to shave them before showing them off... LOL... Ian :-)
  2. dremel will either be totally put off with their first experiences with this printer... OR.. will learn a lot fast and come back with something better soon... hopefully the second of course... Ian :-)
  3. i tried adjusting the little white control thing in the feeder a hundred different times... still got the CLICKING OF DEATH. also added a little oil to the bowden... cleaned out everything... replaced the teflon in the nozzle with the new fibre glass teflon...also tested print temps from 190 up to 260 to see if the underextrusion went away.... nope... the best solution at the moment... is monster temp and then things settle down... but i do get the bunny fluff syndrom... Ian :-)
  4. I really want to wish Simon fantastic luck with his new adventure with ultimaker in America. I am sure it will be savage work but I think the combination and choice of man could not have been better. Good luck and God Speed Simom !!! if you ever need help from us on the community... you know where to find us !!! Ian :-)
  5. in 3 months i have my 6 month test period finished with my new job... then... im either hitting rome or london... both are only 90 minutes flight from munich plus.... they wont break the bank..... Hope your having great fun George !!! and big best wishes to all the ultimaker guys there from me ! Ian :-)
  6. i still suffer from poor underextrusion even with everything cleaned and the new fibre glass teflon part. So I have found by raising the nozzle temp to 250... the filament flows out like butter with almost no feeder clicking... the only problem is... i do get great finishes but with this bunny fluff effect.... Any idea how to best remove bunny fluff from a print ? I have just been washing and picking it off but was wondering if there is another way ?
  7. i like the idea and makes complete sense... even if its not the best printer it shows Dremel is moving with the times.... nice link ! thank you. Ian :-)

  9. OK those are really cool videos.... a real Terminator thing going on... coool ! :-) The biggest thing that would get me would be... what kind of audience would they be targeting with this type of styling... kinda super cool and could come alive in the night when your sleeping... just guessing but this really smells of... AMERICAN HERE WE ARE !!!!! the big bad ultimaker werewolf coming to hunt down makerbot in the night. OUHHHHHHH Ian ;-)

  14. join the club !... finding it hard to find enough hours to really jump deep deep into the printer.. I guess because measuring and making good printable 3d models takes time... But I think things will slow down and then we can start getting back into our happy geeky corner... LOL Ian
  15. and sorry to the question... with over 24,000 of the first ever colour photos taken in Europe... I will be doing a lot more first color photo books... Including.... Munich which will be really exciting... Also started a new monster project book to be sold on the american english speaking market...TOP SECRET at the moment but could turn out to be a real dollar maker... Its wonderful to actually start sharing and earing a few euros from my crazy hobby and be able to reinvest back into my agency pixpast.com and of course the collection :-) Ian :-)
  16. Historical photos and 3d printers can happily live together... 3d printing is like the happy neighbor everyone wants... the not so goody goody version of Ned Flanders... HEHEHE lol Ian :-)
  17. I was in the office this morning with a copy of my new book. And showed it to a few people... WOW... half the people started pushing money into my hands... pre ordering copies... the general idea was that a lot of German families are relatives in Leipzig and Dresden and this would be a perfect birthday or Christmas present.... so I had more than 120 euros on my office table today just from a few wowwss and uuuuussss. I know the next sentence is a total advert for my book... but I am glowing with pride and still cant believe I actually got it done... yippeee :-) If anyone wants a copy... its up on amazon today... :-) YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Leipzig in Farbe: Frühe Farbfotografien 1937-1947 http://www.amazon.de/Leipzig-Farbe-Fr%C3%BChe-Farbfotografien-1937-1947/dp/3942473968/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=8-1&keywords=leipzig+in+farbe+ian+spring

  20. Cool thanks Martijn ! I think I will actually be back in ultimaker in about a month and a half... so I guess when everyone is outside drinking beer... ill secretly sneak back in and start measuring thickness of walls... LOLL Ian :-) Have a great week ! Ian
  21. im going to do the FIRST FLOOR at the weekend and then the sheds and then work out... from the pictures I have in my head... how would the connection work between both... Then I can start putting together a 3d model pritty easy.... Ian :-)
  22. what is tricky.. is the connection between the back part of the main old building and the factory sheds... There is a good new connection between both on Ground Level but of course no connection on the First Floor... First floor ends at the back of the R&D workshop and a little store room... its like a puzzle...
  23. and googles attempt to help...
  24. to start the brain cells rolling for this.. i really like the idea... :-)
