  1. i am having trouble printing material Black Polyflex TPU (raw its matte black, glossy when printed) standard tpu profile in cura and 0.8 nozzle was used. printing works totally fine, but the printer keeps complaining about the filament sensor sensing that material isnt moving (even though it actually moves..) then my UMS5 pauses the print and a very loong oooze forms .. if not removed ruining the print. i have to remove that ooze and unpause every 5-10 mins and the print get ugly during that anyway.. very annoying. does anyone know a fix for this?
  2. Awesome updates! i have wonderful experience with this build. looking forward to the release and plugins.. just found that some debugging is needed in those functions: - Multiply-selected parts - arrange parts
  3. Meshmixer can produce exportable mesh 3d support collums.. it cant do curas support style. it mainly does a sla style support. but has been used as support in FDM scenarios
  4. Hy guys I have an UMS5 I got Polymakers Polyflex TPU95. Polymaker has Materialprofiles in Cura when downloaded in marketplace. But this misses the TPU materials.. Polymaker provides a TPU Print Profiles on their Website. However if i download that.. i get a .curaprofile file. but my cura doesnt want to import that. ?!? WTF. any clue why this is?
  5. nice update! but... this versions "arrange" function doesnt work anymore. objects just stay were they were.
  7. yea maybe risky but worth a try. and Nope, i couldnt find any posts about opening a printcore on this forum.
  8. Has anyone ever disassembled a printcore? couldnt find any pictures on how to best do that.. i have filament stuck in one 0.4mm AA Printcore. as those cores are quite expensive i want to try and fix it. Filament is stuck up to the top but i cant grab it with pliers anymore. the first hot pull snapped it just there. i tried another hotter pull.. to no effect. i hooked the end of the filament with a bent needle and tried to pull but it stayed jammed very hard.
  9. Working on anatomical models.. experimenting with smoothable filament. Guess what it is. UM S5, 0.15mm layers. White Polysmooth. Break-away support. Postprocessing: - some light sanding. 420grit. (across-layers) - first smoothing: DIY Alcohol-smoothed (25mins). Paintbucket with soaked towels. 2 days of outgassing. - some minor detail correction with knive and sanding papers. - second smoothing: Sprayed some more alcohol on problem spots. conclusion: more sanding = better too much alco-smoothing at one time = detail loss The alcohol takes forever to evaporate out of the plastic.. apply modest heat and consider holes in your part so parts insides can evaporate the solvent faster. The longer the part stays sticky the more dust it can land.. a dust reduced drying place is important. - have a polysmooth-slurry ready to fix any holes. 🙂
  10. i cant see anything on these fotos. please send sharp ones.
  11. also, my print quality improved by orders of magnitude.. i get supersmooth prints now.. i had quite brutal ringing on my prints.. all fixed by the latest firmware update. Nice! i thought my settings or the settup was the problem.
  12. after the newest firware rolout my problem is gone.. so far. 3 prints in.
  13. Hi guys i have a bad leveling sensor. i guess.. almost every time i try to print it will fail its initial bed leveling procedure and therefore stop. when i then go to diagnose the bed sensor it tells me about 50% of times it has a bad connection 50% is says beeing at error.. (also, that diagnose takes for eever to run...) Wiggling the cables, replugging, restarting the hole machine sadly has no effect. so i cant print. i found i need a new bed-sensor board. does somebody know where i can order that piece?
  14. Its quite Important Infos about an Firmware update. When its making one unable to downgrade afterwards. This is quite very Apple style.. I would need a Big Red Warning upon updating next time... i hope i didnt brick my machine now. - The printing-cloud-way which needs opening my browser is realy not ideal. I like to do everything form cura as it was.
  15. What a bummer: With 6.0 you can only use the Digital Factory, so you have to send your print jobs through the cloud. A direct connection is not possible anymore. i might have to roll back then. this is a no-go for me.
  16. hi guys first clogged nozzle on my UM S5... Over a +48h Print, the front fan pulled in that many fine PVA hairs. Up to the point that the fan stopped rotating and the space behind was filled with plastic hair. The now uncooled cold-end of my 1st AA core of course clogged soon afterwards. lucky that the S5 noticed the stopped filament and printing halted. So, i found the factory front fan grill unsuitable for filtering the debris eventually produced in the UM. I will put in this as quick fix: Fine stretch mesh. Got it from an Architecture model builder materials shop.
  17. when i click export in the plugin, i get a empty csv sheet. so i dont know how to start.
  18. do you have a tutorial on how to use the plugin? i couldn't figure it out by my self?
  19. this was exactly my issue.. i will install a fine mesh there. my nozzle is now clogged/dead.. cant move the stump of filament in there.. hot or cold. does anyone have a walk-trough for disassembling and cleaning a S5 nozzle.
  20. thanks for the help. my camera zoom problem was fixed by deactivating the zoom to mouse-position (which did not work at all) My "Force layer view compatibility mode" was deactivated from beginning. so no change there.
  21. I am on a new Macbookpro (2019) With Big Sur OS. I like the new release. 4.8 i have some problems though: after slicing layer preview is not visible anymore. Cura operator camera zoom zooms to an irrelevant point in the left corner of the printer. When Selecting the object the camera resets view to center. but the zoom point stays offset to that left corner. This results in: when zoomed in, the Camera rotates not around the desired object anymore.
  22. Hi guys I recently got to work on a UM S5. For tuning in new material i need to print temp-towers. Those usually (in the old Ultimaker2 days) have been gcode-edited to have different Temps for a given set of layers. i remember doing this on Gcode-files but am unable to do the same to the new Ultimaker file format .ufp its not text-editable and i am no programming nerd 🙂 Is there a setting or a plugin i miss in cura to achieve said Temp-towers? Tanks in advance for any help. Picture of example temp tower:
