  1. Zien er netjes uit! Ga je de rest van de brug ook bouwen? Op welke machine heb je de ABS geprint?
  2. Hi @shmiller, welcome to the forums! Depending on the options you have received to go and check out an Ultimaker 3, it could also be wise to contact 3DGBIRE, our dedicated reseller in the UK, to find out if there is a showroom in your area or an alternative opportunity for you to see it in real life. Good luck!
  3. Hi, and welcome to 2017!! On top of the necessary morning coffee I usually need to start to feel somewhat alive, I needed a couple of extra doses today to battle the remains of my celebrations. But it was definitely worth it! Hopefully, you can also look back on some quality time with your loved ones and some good memorable moments. On a personal note, I want to wish everyone all the best for 2017 and I am excited for what this year will bring. While I was sipping my 4th or 5th coffee and staring into my monitor, I caught myself reminiscing over 2016. It has been an amazing year where we, once again, have seen an incredible growth in various areas within Ultimaker. By now I can proudly say I am part of a team that consists of over 250 people, from which every single person makes his own significant and passionate contribution to this company. And the loyal ongoing collaboration with our partners who all play their part in their own territories is stronger than ever. One of the highlights of this year, must have been the introduction of the Ultimaker 3, as a valuable addition to our product range. For a while now we have detected an increasing demand for reliable and accessible 3D printing in the professional market and we see the Ultimaker 3 as a great fit. We can't permit ourselves to ignore these signs and deny such areas, like the professional/industrial market, the quality Ultimaker offers. At the same time, we also stepped up our game towards the educational scene, and kicked off our pioneer program. Ultimaker is growing. But it is important to realize these developments are an addition to our focus and range of products and I want to use this opportunity to underline that it does not influence our appreciation for you, our community. We believe we can be there for all of you. 2017 should be the proof of that So what else have we seen in 2016? Well, we started off with releasing the Ultimaker 2+, which resulted a few months later into the extrusion upgrade kit. Many users took this opportunity at heart and upgraded their Ultimaker 2, into a practically brand new machine again. In June we had a leading role in the Additive Manufacturing show, where we were also host for quite a few users and community members. Following a tour through the headquarters, meeting the Ultimaker team and topping off the weekend with a hackathon, we really opened our doors to our community. In the area of filaments, we have introduced a fair share of new materials which are supported by Ultimaker. Besides the regular PLA and ABS, the list has been complimented with Nylon, CPE(+), PVA, PC and TPU. These materials cover a wide range of heat resistance, flexibility, chemical resistance, and strenth. Our software team made huge leaps forward and made the world a better place by introducing Cura 2. Currently we are into version 2.3.1. We even introduced 2 new apps! Our community has grown significantly. Last year we had over 13.000 new registrations and over 5.000 new topics created on top of the ongoing conversations. What about next year? Well, according to true Ultimaker tradition, I can't be very specific about what kind of innovation we will bring. I can say however that the roadmap looks very interesting and diverse, and my efforts will be aimed at continuing to grow and maintain this amazing community even more! As always I welcome your input and feedback. I am curious to know what you consider your personal highlights of last year, how did you celebrate your New Year’s Eve and what you aim to accomplish next year? Looking forward hearing from you All the best, Sander.
  4. Cool, thanks! Lepaul, what is different in the Ultimate edition? I've seen the 'regular' edition, and indeed it was quite regular I always thought well.. shame on Superman for getting shot in the face once by that kryptonite dust, maybe he was smug or something. But getting shot in the face twice / multiple times was hard to sell Was there any fireworks over there? @Syntaxterror, here in the Netherlands we have something called 'nieuwjaars-duik' / newyears dive. Together with a couple of thousand (probably still) intoxicated people, we gether at the beach at January 1st 12:00 and run into the ocean for a refreshing dip! I read that the perceived temperature that day was -5ºC. brrrr! But it is the best tool I ever came across to battle a hang over Take that, body Wow, 180 days?? That is pretty insane. Is there only one source? Maybe a fan cable is loose, or something is obstructing the fan blades? Well, good luck! Hopefully the rest of 2017 will be easier
  5. Best wishes for everyone for 2017! Hopefully you had a good time celebrating it with your loved ones and everyone is still in one piece without firework hazards! How did you celebrate new years eve?
  6. While I am still waiting for the badges to come in, I would like to update you on some of the recent changes to our dear forums. One in particular, I am rather happy to finally share with you! Hall of fame First, let me start with a new page. There are so many gems in our community that we felt it was worth our while to highlight them for you. Some of our most active, valuable and / or contributing community members have received a special place in our hearts, and now also in our hall of fame! This is an organic list, so there is a chance for everyone to shine among those other stars. You can learn from these guys how they got up there This page also shows some of our most famous prints, which can be found on our 3D print section. By uploading your print your print can also be added to selection. I would recommend to have a look, perhaps you have not seen them all. It also shows a range of popular topics, which can be interesting for both new and expert users. Finally, it shows a collection of Community projects, which are founded right here, or have been deeply influenced by our community. Keep an eye on this one! Search YES! Finally. It has happened. We have a reliable search feature. Dare I say reliable? I dare! Because from (yesterday) on google has our back. Looking for anything? Let our (google) search help you find it! Give it a try and let me know what you think That was it for now. I am happy we have been able to enable these improvements for you guys on the brink of 2016. I wish you all the best and joy for the upcoming holidays!
  7. Did you check if your sliderblock shows a crack so it has less grip on the rod?
  8. Hi @Jlkbenoit, Welcome to the forums What Cura-version are you using? You probably have a negative value for where it should touch the build plate. In 15.04 I believe this is in advanced. For the latest version of Cura you can move your model up and down using the arrows after selecting your model. You should be able to just drag it up onto your plate Good luck!
  9. I don't think they are mislabeled, but maybe they should come with clearer instructions. I'll double check and see if and where they can be included. Thanks for notifying us!
  10. Yes it is! Wheels are in motion, thank you.
  11. Haha!! I will! And I'm thinking about selling kits. Well. I had a very productive weekend! It's all painted and finished!! Picture or it didn't happen!
  12. Hi Marjolein, Thank you for your post! I was wondering if you had a couple of other photo's of your prints to get a better view on what exactly is happening. The necklace is mostly just black now, and even though we can see some strings, it lacks some details. (it is difficult to see for example, if it is all flat, or in 3D, how and where are these strings attached). What did your print look like after changing the temperature? Do you use a default profile or do you have a lot of changes? (is retraction still enabled?) Thanks!
  13. Hi Nullroute, Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear you had some difficulties with your Ultimaker 3. Do you know if this happened because your print got detached from the build plate? The silicone cover should normally protect your printhead internals. It looks like it is broken, can you confirm? Did this happen during cleaning, or was this already the case before you started a print. About how to move forward, I would recommend to get in touch with your reseller. They should also have received instructions on how to help you get 3D printing again. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!
  14. awesome! They look ready to take on the world!
  15. A test method which is specifically aimed at testing adhesion?
  16. haha huh?? When did that happen? ok. I am pretty sure we had it right at some point Well thanks for pointing it out, we'll fix it asap.
  17. I only have one Cura contributor badge unfortunately... The gratitude that comes with it does not specify whether or not you got paid for it
  18. haha great badge!! Maybe I should consider changing the badge into this. hmmm. This is a badge that should be connected to a profile manually, and I think my focus was more on the community than internally but fair enough. You both are entitled to it. And make sure to let me know if anyone else deserves this specific badge as you have a better sight on this than me!
  19. And small teaser.. (please god don't make me regret this).. we may see a huge improvement in the search before the end of this year So the improvement in functionality of the forum does not suffer from these changes
  20. Can haz UM friend status *puppy eyes* ? Also, perhaps even more important, you mentioned beta testing ? You guys know I'm always in for that, though I'm not as active as I have been. But I believe you used the points as an indication of the more active and awesome community members to select for beta, rather than giving them points for it Anyway, keep it up! Thanks! I will also add how the points relate to the levels, that is a good point. I don't know how to fix that Titus, if you have some suggestions I would be more than happy to hear them. Of course, this is just an indication and no absolute truth. There is no way we can know what someones life is outside of the forums. Our cookies don't stretch that far The beta-testing of course has some guidelines and it is something you have to 'unlock'. This is still a partial WIP, so I need to be sync in with other departments some more before I can outline this clearly. Before that, we kinda just have to go 'organically' like we have done before. The general idea is that expert users have valuable feedback when it comes to beta-testing because they know what they are talking about. And they can look beyond a, possibly, first glance result. On the other side, they deserve to be involved with beta testing (if they want) from their help and engagement with the forums. The latter can be indicated by the points / level. The testing itself does not result in any extra points. Something to think about, thanks! - And the badge is on its way Titus
  21. Just a wild idea that just appeared.. since you are modeling the models yourself. Have you considered modeling the support structures too? With some organic shapes you can make sure there is enough room for you to get in with some pliers, we use triangle shaped supports because they should be easiest to remove (like an accordion). As a rule of thumb you could maintain the 1-layer distance, create a small roof and some grips to grab the filament. What about that? With automated generic support I always think it is good, but never perfect because it is never custom made for a certain model. It is like a one-size fits all solution. In your case, maybe a little bit less good than for others. But if you have the skills, maybe you don't have to settle for (less than) good, but go for the perfect supports.
  22. The gear on the motor is 1969 and the gear in the feeder is 1970
  23. I thought makerbot switched to x3g after this generation, so wouldn't that mean this one still uses gcode?
