  1. Warping halfway through the print is called delamination, just a small fyi 🙂It is just as warping a sign that it is cooling a little bit too fast, so increasing temperature would probably help. If the material page suggests 45ºC, I would recommend to try that. It is within the safety range. Let us know how it goes!
  2. The maximum temperature you can set in Cura is 50ºC. In theory it is possible to damage part when the printer is enclosed and temperature gets too hot, but the fan from the Air Manager should prevent this from happening. So as long as it is active, you should be fine. Hope this helps!
Alvast bedankt,
  5. Same instructions apply, but instead of doing them at the feeder, do them at the printhead. It is also connected via a clamp and a horse-shoe. Good luck!
  6. Hello, you should be able to pull out the horse shoe clip at your feeder, which is underneath the clamp that holds your bowden tube. When you have removed the horse shoe, you can push down on the clamp, and simultaneously pull out the bowden tube. If you do it correctly, it shouldn't require much force. Then you can pull out the remaining filament. This is easier when you make sure the nozzle is hot. Good luck!
  7. Nice, that is not something I would recommend to everyone but amazing that you managed to do it all without instructions. Hopefully it is all put back together properly and you'll be able to print reliably without any rubbing. Nice job!
Bedankt,
  9. Hi @Link thank you for your message. I think it is more assembly than design. Unfortunately it is rather tricky to take out that part, not something I could really recommend. Let me check with some product experts what they do recommend instead, thanks.
  10. Sorry to hear so. It made sense to enable an option to upgrade an UM2 to an UM2+, or an UMO to an UMO+ because 'only' a few essential components were renewed. But the idea of upgrading an UM2+ to an UM2C was really pushing the boundaries of a reasonable product. And honestly, we felt it wasn't. It would create too many complexities, and it could never be a 'plug & play-upgrade'. If you rather have a DIY printer, there are plenty of options out there. The philosophy of upgrading our products is still very much alive though. Take a look at the firmware, which is updated frequently. Cura which is continuously being updated, Material Station & Air manager we released for the UMS5 and the materials & plugins we're adding to the marketplace. So it is still alive, but the time it takes to develop an upgrade, combined with the cost and complexities of installing it (like the tools it would require, and the margin of errors you introduce) have to add up.
  11. Hi Link, thank you for your post! I think it is good if other users would share their opinions and experiences from using an Air Manager, but some questions I think I can also answer based on how it performs. Besides UFPs it also removes (excessive) hot air from the build volume, so printing fine details shouldn't be negatively impacted. A running Air Manager is probably louder than the sound your fans generate on your print head if it runs on full capacity. It is hinged on the back so you do need some free space behind your machine. The hinges are not too lose, I have like 10cm behind my Pro Bundle, and even though it doesn't open entirely, it stays open when I lift the Air Manager up. Hope this helps!
  12. And there is also a different Z stage. All things considered, where it made sense to enable an upgrade from UM2 to an UM2+, upgrading to an UM2+C doesn't make sense. It would have been really cool though, but unfortunately not possible. As mentioned, even the frame would need to be modified.
Succes!
  14. Hello, there is a fair chance you will find it under 'Support structure'. You can choose between Normal/Tree. Good luck!
  17. How do people feel about these videos? I would imagine they can be quite helpful and informative.
  18. Thank you for sharing your message and wild assumptions. If you want to get in touch with us you can do so via our community, Github or our ticket support system. If you decide to go for any of these routes, I would like to ask you to pay attention to your tone of voice when you're asking for help from people who have no obligation to help you. We are willing to help though, all users of Cura, regardless if you have an Ultimaker or not. Asking nicely helps. We're all just people.
  19. It is a really, really great printer. So are the S-line printers, but the simplicity and effectiveness of the Ultimaker 2+ (Connect) are difficult to beat. Will you be considering trying out the Ultimaker 2+ Connect?
  20. Thanks! We're very excited too. Not yet as of right now. It does fill a space previously owned by the Ultimaker 2+. This means that at some point in the probably not so distant future, the Ultimaker 2+ will be discontinued. But spare parts will continue to stay available, for a few years after the discontinuation. Hope this helps!
  21. Hi @bsAHead, thank you for sharing your message with us. We are always looking forward to hear from our customers. Obviously, we prefer raving testimonials but even when you aren't satisfied it creates an opportunity for us to do a better job and perhaps we can even help you out and turn your experience with Ultimaker in a more positive one. I only moved your comment to the 3D printer section, where I think it is more relevant. The feedback part is more aimed at the website. Your reseller was correct, we did identify a batch of collets that did not meet our specifications. As soon as we found out, we informed out network and necessary steps were taken. We're very sorry that these also impacted your experience with your Ultimaker S3. 'Luckily', this is a very easily traceable issue and just as easily fixed with new collets. After receiving the correct collets, how has your experience been? Of course it would have been better when you had no issues to begin with, but I can imagine it is also good to know that when you do have an issue you can count on Ultimaker and our support network to quickly help you out and get you back to 3D printing. The service you are receiving is also part of the reliable experience with Ultimaker. You are not left in the dark. Please let us know how your experience unfolds, and if there is anything we can help with. Have a great day,
  22. I didn't see your DM, apologies. I thought you haven't sent it yet. I will take a look now.
  23. After a successful BETA period we are ready to launch Ultimaker Cura 4.8. With support for the Ultimaker 2+ Connect that we launched today. Download it right now to experience several new features that allow you to work faster than ever. Check this video for a quick run down of Ultimaker Cura 4.8: New features Arrange models feature improvement. An improved arrange models feature allows you to quickly organize all your CAD models on your build plate. Previously the automated orientation of multiple parts did not always utilize the full build plate area and it required manual placement. With this new feature parts are automatically positioned more efficiently, using the full available space of the build plate. This is particularly useful for small batch production. Note: This feature was developed with the power of the open source community. In particularly a big thank you to Prusa Research, which developed the open source library used to create this improvement. Color object below build plate. Sometimes you need to drop a model below the surface of your build plate, in Ultimaker Cura. From Ultimaker Cura 4.8 onwards, parts that are sunk below the build plate and will therefor be cut off, will be shown in a different color. Load project file improvement. When loading a project file, you can select which printer type you want to open with. This will significantly improve your user experience when working with multiple files and multiple printers. Besides this new features, we also fixed several bugs. Measurement units. Previously, when changing percentages, the wrong axis would be scaled. This is fixed. Artefact in curves. We fixed an issue that left tiny artefacts in certain curves, causing the print head to slow down. Surfaces are now smoother. Excited to give Ultimaker Cura 4.8 a try? Download it here. Feedback? As always, we are eager to hear from you! Only together we can make things better. Please let us know what you think right below in the comments! Looking forward hearing from you, thank you for your time!
  24. Hi, thank you for your message. There was a reasonable period until which glass plates were available for compensation. That period has ended and we are no longer distributing free glass plates. I will leave the topic open in case there is a continuous need for a discussion, but do so knowing that free glass plates are no longer distributed. Thank you,
  25. Today we are launching a new and improved printer; the Ultimaker 2+ Connect. Following in the gigantic footsteps of the workhorse that is the Ultimaker 2+, the Ultimaker 2+ Connect has quite a legacy to live up to. Ultimaker Cura data tells us that since 2015, over 6 million prints have been prepared for the Ultimaker 2+. So where do we start to improve such a renowned printer? Network connectivity. As the name suggests, and technology of this day and age demands, you can now create a connection via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Sending print jobs to the Ultimaker 2+ Connect via the Digital Factory is a breeze. Next-gen components. A stiffer buildplate will ensure that your print will run reliably overnight or throughout the weekend. Touchscreen. The Ultimaker 2+ Connect comes with a 2.4” color touchscreen. Wide material choice. With 9 Ultimaker materials to choose from and unlimited third-party materials to use via our open filament system, you can always find the right material properties for your application. Third party material profiles will become available in the near future. A digital workflow With the Ultimaker 2+ Connect you can leverage the full power of Ultimaker’s digital workflow. You’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of: The digital factory. Share access to the Ultimaker 2+ Connect with your co-workers to increase uptime and productivity. (The same applies for the Ultimaker S3, S5 and the Pro Bundle). High uptime. Low maintenance. With its updated and clean design, keeping your machine in tip-top shape will only take you 20 minutes a month with preventative maintenance. No tools required. Upgrade your experience Nozzles. The Ultimaker 2+ Connect uses the same swappable nozzles, just as the Ultimaker 2+ did. This means you can swap a nozzle in a mere minute. Different sizes are available: 0.25mm for detailed prints, 0.4 and 0.6mm for regular prints and 0.8mm for fast drafts. The fact that the Ultimaker 2+ Connect is using nozzles instead of print cores, also means that it does not have active leveling. The build volume combined with the stiffer build plate allow this, without sacrificing reliability. Air manager. Designed to simply and effectively increase user safety, the Air manager removes up to 95% UFPs and shield users from hot and moving components inside the printer. The Ultimaker 2+ Connect Air Manager includes a single-speed fan to efficiently pull air through a large EPA filter. This gives you the flexibility to safely install multiple printers in one locations. The Ultimaker 2+ Connect Air Manager also fully covers the Ultimaker 2+ Connect’s build chamber with a front enclosure for a more stable printing environment, preventing anyone from touching hot and moving components and a draft entering the build space. Are you interested to learn more about the Ultimaker 2+ Connect? Feel free to ask us below! You can also read more about it here: See the Ultimaker 2+ Connect
