  1. Hi @Frolic, welcome to the community! In Cura is a setting called Support distance, you can use it to alter the distance between your support and your model. Perhaps this setting holds the key to both of your problems. Let us know how it goes!
  2. Hi, welcome to the community. Not that I know of. It is not in the scope of functionalities for the Material Station. A switch between different materials would significantly increase the print time and we just don't think that is feasible or desirable by anyone. What would you like to use that functionality for?
  3. Hi @frederics946, thank you for your message. Based on your findings I see no particular reason why your motors stopped working. I think it may be a good idea to contact reseller see if they have any ideas for troubleshooting and otherwise consider replacing it with a new board. Sorry, hope it helps.
  4. Hello, the first line it prints is to make sure that your nozzle is primed and there is sufficient material to start your first layer. The line around your object is called the 'skirt'. You should be able to disable this if you wish. This has a similar purpose, to make sure that your nozzle is primed and it ensures that if any material of the initial line doesn't stick to the bed and is dragged along by the nozzle it doesn't end up in your print.
  5. Hi @Ritualz thank you for your message. We are aware of the connectivity issues with the camera and we are working on a fix in the next firmware version, which we are currently testing. Hopefully we'll be able to release it rather sooner than later. When a date is known, I'll post it here. In the meantime, if you have not done it already we recommend to connect your Ultimaker to ethernet. The post linked to above also contains a fix that seems to add some more reliability in the connection to the camera. Thank you for your time, apologies for the inconvenience!
  6. Hello, thank you all for your messages. This should most likely be fixed in the upcoming firmware, not the existing firmware. It is currently being tested. For the time being it helps if your Ultimaker S5 (Pro Bundle) is connected via ethernet. Thank you for your time and our apologies for the inconvenience!
  7. Hi, it indeed has humidity control but an important nuance to make is that the material station is capable of keeping your PVA dry, but its purpose or capacity doesn't cover making it dry. So it is always recommended to dry your filament before loading it in the material station to ensure it is dry. Hope this helps!

  11. Hi @18erik, I had a moment to discuss this with our product experts and this is a known bug when you print over USB. Can you confirm this is the case? This will be solved in the next firmware release. For the time being, if you would print over network you would work avoid this message. Or if you can't, ignoring/clicking it away also works. Let me know if this works!
  12. Hello, welcome to the community! To give you a definite answer that is applicable to all filaments and vendors would be near impossible. It is true for different colors that manufacturers add different additives and pigments which generate the color, and sometimes this means that you need a slightly higher or lower temperature or that it melts slightly different. Usually the difference shouldn't be so disrupting that it warrants a different profile for each color, but it could be worth considering. And I've never printed with Gizmo before, so I am not sure how their filament prints.

If the ethernet cable is working for you, then perhaps we can leave it like it is for now and look at the other items you mentioned. #2: Clogged print core: Can you describe what you've tried to unclog the print core? We've almost never run into a print core that couldn't be cleared, so I think the cleaning filament (or new/more instructions) should help! #3/4: What do you mean by PLV? PLA? Was the filament fully loaded? Did you get a flow sensor? This sounds peculiar. #5: It is important that you push in the filament all the way into the feeder until you feel the knurled wheel grips it. Otherwise it just sits there and nothing will happen. #6 did you get a sheet in your box that you could lay over the print to see which lines up best? #7 'a faint lightbox over the app window' I am not sure what you mean by this. Could you perhaps share a screenshot? Thank you for your time,

  16. Hello, that is more difficult to say because many factors can contribute (or undermine) a stable wifi connection outside of the Ultimaker. Like the amount of other devices connected to the same network can make the connection less stable. So if you have the option to select Ethernet, I would always recommend this for stabilities sake.
  17. Hello, a material conflict can also occur when you configure to use Ultimaker PLA with a BB print core for example. Have you verified that all configurations are correct? Perhaps you can share a screenshot if you are not sure. Do you get a material conflict when you print a single extrusion print too? Thanks,
  18. First things first; What is wear resistance? Wear resistance is the material's ability to withstand damage, abrasion or deformation as a result of repetitive mechanical action with another solid. Its resistance can be the result of its strength, stiffness or a material’s coefficient of friction. This last factor refers to the amount of resistance one exerts on another that move over it. Plastics typically have a low coefficient of friction, which makes plastic material prime candidates for 3D printing wear-resistant parts. When is wear resistance important? If parts need to be durable often these parts need to be wear resistant. There are 3 key areas where 3D printing with wear resistant material is relevant: Moving applications. When motion is involved there are multiple surfaces interacting with each other. Rotating, pivoting, gliding etc. Materials with a high degree of wear resistance can ensure durability and longevity under these circumstances. Tools, jigs & fixtures need to withstand surface damages during routine usage. This will ensure high uptimes and low costs. End use parts need to be durable and maintain functional for a long period of time. Longer life means fewer reproductions and cost. What else should you know? Materials that are wear resistant often have a generally good chemical resistance, because additional lubrication is not uncommon. When thermoplastics are heated, physical and chemical changes take place. Sometimes irreversible. High temperature resistance is therefor important because when a component is subject to high load and tribological stress, friction often manifests as heat. By using a soft material such as TPU for a part’s outer layers, you can minimize its surface impact, enabling the part to last longer in a stressful environment. (as opposed to a coarsely stepped surface for example). Cura tip 1: A typical application for wear resistant material is one faced with high loads so settings should be adjusted accordingly. Use a higher wall count & top/bottom layers, higher infill rate and bulkier walls. Cura tip 2: Ultimaker Cura allows you to configure: ‘set outer wall extruder’. Here you can indicate that the outer walls must be printed with another material like the wear resistant material TPU or iGus. And on the inside you can use a cheaper material like PLA or a stronger reinforced material. On top of that, when you use 2 different colors you can also see when the outer layer is starting to wear off over time and you need to replace it. Which wear resistant materials do we have in the marketplace? Igus GmbH Igus iglidur® I150 Tribofilament is a special material developed for use as bearing material and for wear parts. Its ease of use and high abrasion resistance make it a go-to material for applications with movement and friction Igus® iglidur® I180 Tribofilament is a special material developed for use as bearing material and for all types of wear parts. In applications with movement and friction, it eliminates the need for extra lubrication LEHVOSS Group LUVOCOM 3F PAHT® CF 9891 BK is a high-temperature, carbon fiber-reinforced, polyamide-based material. It provides high strength, stiffness, and minimized water uptake LUVOCOM 3F PAHT® 9825 NT is a high-temperature polyamide-based material. It has the strength of a PA6 without sacrificing any of its printability Ensinger GmbH Ensinger TECAFIL PA6 GF30 Black is a 30% glass fiber-reinforced polyamide manufactured under the trade name TECAFIL PA6 GF30 Black. It offers higher strength, rigidity, creep strength, and dimensional stability compared with unreinforced polyamide 6. Do you want to see which other materials we have in our material alliance?   19. Hi @danieledge123, thank you for your message. It is true that the camera sometimes loses connection and this has been known for a longer period of time, but it doesn't mean it has gone ignored or that we never tried to fix it. We have launched fixes in the past which improved the connection with the webcam, but not entirely yet. I like to think it is a fully supported professional 3D printer. Unless I am wrong we are talking on a platform we have created where you can talk and learn from peers and where you can talk to our developers directly, and our developers are actively working on fixing this issue in the next firmware. I am happy one of the other users has found a way to make the stream more reliable for you, and if it works for you I see no reason why you should stop using it. But technically, we wouldn't recommend increasing resolution to the webcam, as the increased resolution could contribute to loosing the feed. Increasing the timer to 10 seconds we see no harm in this, and our developers also took note of it and will evaluate if it can be used to further improve your experience.   21. Hi @18erik, thank you for your message. It is not clear from my message if you have tried with multiple spools of PVA or just one. It could be possible that the NFC chip on your spool of PVA is not working, if the bay does read PLA/Tough PLA. Have you tried different spools of PVA, or other UM materials for that matter?
