There won't be any problem if you use an adhesion sheet on the other side. But since the non-tin side provides decent adhesion by itself, perhaps you don't want to hide it underneath an adhesion sheet 🙂

Hi Daniel, welcome to our community! You may want to increase the minimum layer time setting. It will force the printer to slow down on those layers which should give the filament time to cool down. Without it, it does not have sufficient time to cool down after extrusion, plus the hot nozzle that it touches keeps continuously heating/melting the filament.

Hello! You may have heard stories about glass plate having one side which brings you slightly better adhesion compared to the other side, or perhaps you have experienced this first hand yourself. Allow me to provide you with some background information and some instructions to figure out which side you should be printing on and which side you should use if you want to add an adhesion sheet. The difference is first introduced during production. When our glass plates are being made, near the end of the production line there is a hardening process. During the hardening process, the plates float on a layer of tin and are heated from above. This creates a difference between the two sides. There are two main factors that ensure good adhesion to the glass plate: wetting and flatness. Wetting is the ability of a liquid to maintain contact with a solid surface. Lower surface tension means better wetting. The non-tin side (i.e. upside during the hardening process) has a lower surface tension than the tin side. Therefore the non-tin side is recommended to print on. If the sticker that is on your glass plate fell off, you can do a simple small test to identify which side is which by placing a drop of water on both sides of the glass. (Not at the same time though). The non-tin side, the side you want to be printing on, is hydrophilic and the water disperses. On the tin side, the water will form a droplet (this side is hydrophobic). If you want to use an adhesion sheet, it is recommended to stick it to this side. Hope this helps! Hi @RMG, welcome! When you have Ultimaker Cura 3.6 open, you can go to the Marketplace > Materials > BASF > and install the PET CF material profile. Use it in combination with your CC core for the best and safest results. Good luck!

Hi @DrSchmoll, if I'm not mistaken we're in the process of removing some older legacy versions to keep things organized and structured. Unfortunately the removal of some versions seem to have gone a little bit faster than the removal of links. You should still be able to find 15.04.06 and 2.3.1 as they are the most used/downloaded legacy versions. Have you tried these already?

Happy to see you are back, and happy to see the new firmware has been good for you 🙂 That will most likely be in the next release though, so perhaps another thing to look forward too. Perhaps we did consider, I'm not sure. In any case, at some point the decision was based to go for an aluminum bed instead of any of the alternatives. Unfortunately, as you read in your email and perhaps here as well, that didn't make it to a release. I'll ask if we can release any of those details, but I can't promise that will happen. Unless I'm mistaken, in the email there was mention that before the end of Q1 (March), everyone should have received their additional glass plates. This doesn't mean all glass plates will be sent in that very last week, but it will be processed in batches I believe.

Based on the surface on the bottom and the apparent seam that exists between the lines, I would say your bed is a little bit too low. Raise it a little bit and try again.

You are right that this could, or should be documented better. We're working on this, within a larger scope of features we're working on, and in the meantime we hope to help users with instructions like the ones I send to you. If they didn't work, please let me know and we can look into it together. Regarding this; can you let me know, via a DM if you want, which resellers have not updated their materials? We've updated our channels, but obviously we can't make the changes for them. If for whatever reason it was not changed, we would like to reach to them and see if we can help. Hello, I am good thank you! Hope you also started 2019 off well. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to say much about future products. But if you're referring to a printer like Markforged, that is not on the nearby roadmap as far as I know.
