[X Axis Belts too tight ?]

Are you saying that the rubber may have become stiff?

So my Ultimaker v1  has been sitting in the basement for the last few months and now the X axis is really stiff ..

I tried to print something small and the print failed due to slipping

I have oiled the rods but yet no avail

Is this normal ? How do i need to startup up the machine first time ? While its connected via usb or should it just be silent when the machine is turned on without being connected to USB / laptop..

Please help !
