  1. Ah ok that makes sense. Layer height was 0.1. Where do I get the latest cura? I have 12. something from before christmas. I took everything apart and pulled everything out of the nozzle. It looked all just like pla, no dirt or other plastic.
  2. Hi, Would be nice if you could share your optimal settings for high quality prints so people can compare their results. That also helps users to get a feeling for good settings.
  3. Today I tried to print a part that previously failed due to a broken file. It printed very well until 4mm before the end. It suddenly started to under extrude. I used to have these kind of problems with the old print head, but never since I updated. I pulled out the filament from the nozzle all the way until it was empty. I can see light on the other side of the hole now. The filament that I pulled out also had the shape of the nozzle . I checked the extrusion mechanism and it looks and feels as usual. I feed through some filament by hand and it feels as usual. I measured the filament and it was still at 2.80mm. (Faberdashery) So why was it underextruding?
  4. I did not safe eject it. And this feels like what happened. 9.9MB vs 9.5MB. That also explains why it did not remove the print head. Because that information was cut off. However, I thought if you cut the connection while a file is transferred, the file would be corrupted anyway instead of being half finished.
  5. I printed a part yesterday but the settings were wrong and the quality horrible. Today I tried it with a new file and different settings. It printed great but stopped half way through and left the print head touching the job and kept heating. So it wasnt a usual stop after it finished printing. However the UltiControler said it finished "100% SD". I use Cura. Any ideas what is wrong? Could the stepper motors have overheated?
  6. Thanks. Bought the software and its great. You just have to make sure that your model does not have any round edges. Otherwise there are hundreds of things you have to cut and fold. But simple stuff with maybe 30 flat faces works great!
  7. Does anybody know a software that takes a CAD model and makes it into a paper modell that you can print out and stick together? Something like this: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?um=1&hl= ... 0,s:0,i:82
  8. I printed exactly the same. One came out wrong. The second was quite good. But those overhaning parts never get smooth with my machine.
  9. Before it was so that I rotated the leaver and there was less pressure. Now, rotating the leaver makes no difference. I have to displace the leaver vertically.
  10. A skilled welder probably could weld it back on, but shipping from holland is very fast in europe.
  11. I always use a giant kitchen knife to get underneath the edge and then i use the blade as a leaver.
  12. Turning 30cm by hand is hard, but I found a sollution. I undoo the leaver screw- lift the leaver up and swing down the ball bearing part.
  13. Sometimes the Nozzle grinds over the printed surface and that creates a really bad surface texture inside and outside. Yesterday I printed the same object twice. At first, the nozzle grinded over the surface and it was really bad. The second time I reduced the temperatrue to 195°C and it worked absolutly fine. Today I printet another object with the same setting and again it grinded and looks horrible. I thought it is an under extrusion problem but that does not make sense since both times the settings were the same. The surface actually lukes a bit like this but with sharper edges: http://static.zoonar.de/img/www_reposit ... 841df0.jpg I use Cura/ High Quality / New Extruder and Hot End
  14. I just upgraded to the new extruder with the ball bearing but now I cant manually push through filament. I used to be able to do that with the old one before i started a print. Any tips?
  15. Thanks for the comments. I wouldn´t buy glow in the dark from china.
  16. How good is the Faberdashery Filament? Wich ones can you recomend? Anybody tried out glow in the dark stuff yet?
  17. There was a little thing sticking out from my first layer. Thought it would be a good idea to push it down with the screw driver until the next layer keeps it in place. Pressed to hard and actually pushed down the print bed on the springs. Dont put manual pressure on your build platform!
  18. Think before you print if there is an easier solution to your problem. Clicks on the CAD software are always easier than manual work.
  19. Would be great if there was a way to adjust the z-axis switch just by turning a lead screw. That way you could really fine adjust the gap between the bed and the nozzle.
  20. I really hope those upgrades will stop my ultimaker from jamming. Its just not fun having dozens of half finished products lying around. Otherwise, perfect machine!
  21. To my understanding, the G-Code file makes the fan start and stop. Can you manually power it up with the ulticontroler?
  22. Maybe this video of my Assembly can help you? Theoretically there is every step on it.
  23. Well done, that is an absolutely acceptable print for your first one.
