  1. Thanks, it turned out, that my Filament is to thick and the bowden tube was one of the bad ones which is only 2.62mm
  2. That looks very good! And so useful as well! Talked to the support today and notice that my PLA varies between 2.62 And 2.82. And my bowden tube is only 2.69 inside diameter. (I can't measure such small diameters very well with a digital calliper) So that explained why sometimes it prints well and sometimes it doesn't. They send me a new one!
  3. I followed your suggestion for removing the plug in the hot end and attempted a print. Once again, the first few layers printed fine, but then I began running into flow issues again. I cancelled the print and removed the hot end expecting another plug, but there was none. So, your suggestion did fix all issues with the hot end, but now there must be some other problem with the feed mechanism. It is extremely difficult to feed material through by hand, so I'm guessing this is an issue with the bowden tube being defective. Is there anything else that could cause these problems? This sounds exactly like my problems. How fast did they send you a new tube?
  4. I had numerous problems where not enough material gets extruded. Either the a plug formed (I think I solved this with owens clamp) or the filament got stuck in the tube. Now I noticed that I cant push the filament through the tube at all. I used to be able to just push it through but suddeny I cant anymore. Could it be that the tube changed its shape?
  5. Wehen I uses RepG It always had an error message saying something like, the design is not made for an ultimaker. Cura works very well, but now I got a problem that it never extrudes right. Either it is grinding on the filament or the bowden tube gets loose and I have to take everything apart. I hope the support has a fix for that otherwise I am stuck.
  6. I really hope there is a fix for that. This machine can work so good if it woulf just extrude enough material! And I have no idea what the problem is. To much friction? Extruder screw tension?
  7. Thanks, got it unstuck now, but had to take apart so much stuff. Will take some time to bring it back together. Ill call support tomorrow. Not very hapy with the whole hot extrusion part.
  8. Ok, turned out, that the filament is stuck in the "no friction" bowden pipe. I removed it from the hot end and can pull as hard as I want and don´t get it out.
  9. Tried it with Owens clamp but the flow stopped again. After a few layers it was ok again and then the flow stopped forever. I just opened the nozzle and this time there was no plug.
  10. Hi, I read somewhere that PLA degrades just like organic material. Does anybod know how long that would take in a composter? Or outside in general?
  11. Thanks for your help Daid! How come you are so active here? Do you work for Ultimaker? I am printing Owens Fix now. The big main part is almost finished. Hope the rest goes well too. The Plugs that formed in my peek where both 6.4 in Diameter and 6 in height. You cann see older material on the side and a fresh core from the filament. I print at 230°C. Hope this might help!
  12. ok, I removed the tube and there actually was a plug 6mm tall and 6.4 diameter. I removed it and put everything back together. This time I left the tube sticking out by about 1cm and screwed everything back together. I tried printing the part again but it got stuck again halfway through. What can I do to stop this? I also slightly broke the white plastic thing that stops the tube from slipping.
  13. My second print went very well and on my third one, I tried doing a fan duct. I uses Cura on the fast print setting and it worked very well for 25min but then suddenly nothing came out of the nozzle anymore. The extruder motor kept spinning and I tried to push aswell but nothing came out. What could be the reason for that? PLA at 230°C also increased to 245°C for a minuite.
  14. Never mind. I changed to Cura and suddenly all my problems are solved! My third print is almost perfect!
  15. Hi guys, I just wanted to start my first print, but I am a bit confused. 1. First of all which G-Code Version should I download? 2. THen which Skeinforge Version should I use? 3. Where do I set the temperature? Tried setting it under the controll window but than it resets to 198°C when I start printing. 4. The main problem is also that nothing comes out of the nozzle. The extruder does not seem to turn. Do I have to tell the software to turn? 5. How does it know where it is at the start? Am I supposed to navigate the printhead in the middle? Kinda confused, the printing guide does not help very much. Just did my first print. I tried making a belt tensioner but it was only a 10*5*3mm rectangle.
  16. I think you can use a normal bolt that just about fits in a few occasions. I finished assemblying mine today and there are many places where the proper bolt head does not matter.
  17. Thanks for your help I assembled everything took me 3 Afternoons and I made about 20gb of Fotos for a time lapse. Had some problems with the fan mount on the bottom. The Guide could really get an update. Main things I am concerned with: -belt tension ( I think I maxed out the tensing screw but not sure if the tension is right. Feels a big sloppy to me.) -paralelness of the rods.(is there to much friction?) -will the whole nozzle assembly work or will hot plastic drop everywhere?
  18. Thanks, Ill be careful about the switches. Got another question: "Check if the Z-Axis rods (the really thick ones) fit the 2 holes of the Top and Bottom panel. There are 3 holes, check the ones on the left and right. If it is not possible to push them through with a bit of force, stick some sandpaper onto a smaller rod (like a screwdriver) and do some light sanding. Don't sand too much. You only need to push the rod through, it should not turn easily." I tried this and I can get the rods into the holes but only about 5mm. I can't push them through all the way. Do I have to push them through all the way or only that much to get them in and align the end area with the board?
  19. Hi guys, I am about to assembly my ultimaker. Today I painted everything. (might give it a second paint job. was very hard to paint over the black.) I already read through the assembly instructions and noticed in the comments on the electronics part that some switch was labeled wrong. So I don't know if that was already changed because the comment is 3 months old. Also wondering what other knows issues there are that could be done wrong. Maybe it would be worth making a sticky with common mistakes that users make at assembly? Spooner
