I had got the same error that a small object extend the build volume. I used both print cores and i had moved the prime tower a print before. After correcting the position of the prime tower every thing works. It was a little bit funny, because you can't see the prime tower at this point of placing the object. You have to remember what you have done the print before.

I am a little bit suprised about the behavior of Ultimaker. I bought an S5 some weeks ago and i register the printer to get the aluminium print bed. My first printer was an Ultimaker and support and communication was excelent. But right now i have a little bit the feeling, that communication is not the same like years before. Last time i bought the printer directly from you. Now i have to bought the from a reseller (igo3d9) They made there job, but for the aluminium plate i have to ask what to do. Ok, i have done it, but there is no direct communication that the registration was successful. There is no info about the state of the aluminium plate. The aluminium plate was one of big points to buy the S5! I send a mail to Ultimaker.... no reaction....What are the next steps.....Things can go wrong, but if you feel that you as customer will not be taken seriously you will get be "unhappy". This is not a good idea with a 3D printer in this price range.

it is not possible to open a FreeCAD file. I got an error message "ungültige Datei" I am able to select the right file extension. but it doesn't matter I am using Mac OS 10.14.1 Cura 3.6.0 FreeCAD Integration 0.2.1 from 28.09.18 14:36

Ich habe seid ein paar Tagen einen S5. Zuvor hatte ich einen alten Ultimaker (Vorläufer von Original) der einige Ultimaker Erweiterungen erfahren hat (Beheiztes Bed, 2. Druckkopf) Hier habe ich MARLIN genutzt und die neuen Cura Versionen waren fast unbrauchbar. Mit Simplify3D konnte ich aber trotzdem gute Ergebnisse erzielen. Der neue S5 läuft natürlich nicht mit MARLIN. Bis jetzt bin ich sehr zufrieden und kann auch nur empfehlen erst einmal das Standard Setup zu nutzen. Einstellmöglichkeiten hat man hier genug um seinen Druck zu optimieren. Ich habe eher das Problem zu viele Stell Möglichkeiten zu haben, und ein wenig erschlagen werde. Leider sind aus meiner Sicht einige wenige Optionen nur in der Advanced/Expert Sicht sichtbar die aber umso wichtiger sind.

ok nice to know. Right now a print is running and hopefully finish in 30h. My problem was that it was the first use of the CC print core and there was of cause material inside witch I got not out and so the towing PLA get not out. On the side I thought that there was a profile for the new core. But there is not and there is a warning that it is not recommended to print PLA with that CC core.

I got the initial material out of the core and now it seems to be working

what is the best way to print glowing PLA. The product description says that it is an abrasive material. Printing temperature 190-220. But if a want to use the new print core CC it is not recommendet to use PLA und loading material (S5) with CC print Core fails. No material will come out and the feeder is grinding.

Der Drucker ist bei mir über Gigabit angeschlossen. Da der Drucker via Ping erreicht wird, ist es kein direktes Netzwerk Problem. MAC-Adresse / ARP Table ist korrekt. Cura erkennt den Drucker nicht direkt. Nur über den aktualisieren Weg klappt es. Wie gesagt das Problem entsteht wenn Cura zuerst gestartet wurde und der Drucker noch nicht einsatzbereit ist. Ist leider ein merkwürdiges Verhalten und ich kann damit leben. Schön ist aber anders.

Bei mir der Drucker nicht direkt angezeigt wenn ich zuerst Cura starte und dann den Drucker einschalte, bzw der Drucker noch nicht bereit war. Unter den Cura Konfigurationseinstellungen kann man aber den Netzwerkdrucker aktualisieren. Er ist bei mir eingetragen aber nicht erreichbar. Erst wenn man den aktualisieren Button drückt wird der Drucker von Cura richtig erkannt.Dann klappt bei mir der Ausdruck ohne Probleme. Ich nutze allerdings eine MAC Umgebung.

I have the S5 since a week. I made some print but I have to abort some, because my PVA is very dry and so it break in the tube. But the successful print are much better than old wooden Ultimaker. My S5 is connected via LAN (I really miss the option of a fixed IP Adress) In the morning my last print was finished and I got an info that there is a new firmware. I tried to update, but it fails with error code 27 After that switched the printer off and on and make the update via menu. It was successfully but the history is complete empty.

Also grundsätzlich hängt die zu verwendende Temperatur vom Material (Hersteller) / Farbe und der Druckgeschwindigkeit ab. Bei deiner langsamen Druckgeschwindigkeit würde ich sogar 5 Grad kälter Drucken als der Hersteller vorgibt. PLA mit 220 Grad zu drucken ist schon extrem bei deiner Druckgeschwindigkeit. Die Tropfen erklären sich für mich durch die hohe Temperatur und zu wenig Material im heißen Ende. Diesen Effekt hatte ich mal als ich einige Objekte mit Laybrick gedruckt hatte und danach wieder auf PLA gewechselt bin. Alles sah gut aus, nur musste ich die Temperatur anfänglich um 5 später um 10 Grad erhöhen. Es hatte sich ein kleiner Pfropfen im Hot End Isolator Couple gebildet. Durch die Erhöhung der Teperatur konnte mit genügend Kraft Material an der Verstopfung vorbei geführt werden. Wenn der Durchmesser stimmt gehe ich von einer Verstopfung aus. Hast du schon einmal die Atomic Methode versucht.

Welchen Durchmesser hat dein Filament. Miss mal alle 30 cm über eine länge von 1,5 m. Der Durchmesser sollte niemal größer 3,05mm sein. Sonst ist der Wiederstand in der Tube zu groß

Ich hatte auch noch nie solche Probleme. Ich verwende aber auch nicht den Prittstift. Ein Hauch von Haarspray, Heizbett auf 70 Grad (PLA) gestellt und nach dem 2. Layer mit TweakatXY auch 60 Grad (PLA) und nie Probleme gehabt. Nach Abkühlen des Heizbettes löst sich alles ohne Probleme.

Das der Mac genügend Performance hat würde ich nicht unbedingt so unterschreiben. Ich habe selber einen Mac und kann nur sagen, dass es darauf an kommt wo die den Ultimaker angeschlossen hast. Solltest du auf den Gedanken gekommen sein ihn einfach an die Tastatur an zu schliessen dann kannst du sehr wohl Performace Probleme bekommen. Da mein Ultimaker nur bei einem Firmware update via USB angeschlossen wird mache ich dies bei nämlich so. Die Tastatur liefert so weit ich weiss nur USB 1.x. Ansonsten kann ich mich nur den Vorednern anschließen: Hole dir den UltiController und auch das Heizbett

@Daid: You make a big job! Sometime i wish the function to stop the auto-slice function. But you have said a lot of times that these function will not be implemented. You have your reasons and i will live with it. Please concentrate on the major things. :-) @bot: I think it is sometime a good solution. I use a Mac and on the same maschine a bootcamp enviroment with Window 7. It is sometime really funny to see that you have different problems with the same software on different OS. My basically behavior is to use Mac OS for things with many polygons (big slice file >50mb) and if you have things with small wall use Windows.

@ Team Ultimaker: i think it is hard to see people copping your ideas and sell it for less money. I think you will loss people to these cheap manufacturer. But on the other side i think you will win people because the Ultimaker is an open source printer. I think the biggest advantage of Ultimaker is the community. 2 years ago, i had to deside which printer i will buy. I decide for Ultimaker and against Makerbot and i never regret my decision. A lot of people ask me and i always say the same. Your company have sometimes some problems with the contolling of the quality of the Ultimaker (e.g. packing list is not fitting) and the reaction time of the support. But overall your company is doing a good work. People who bought an Ultimaker on my recommendation have agreed my rating.

Zu 1) Druckbetttemperatur: Der Support von Ultimaker hatte mir mitgeteilt, das deutlich mehr geht (ich glaube es ging bis 150 Grad) Die Temperatur ist wohl durch die Firmware begrenzt. Ich habe mein Heizbett für ABS mal auf 115Grad eingestellt. Für das Aufheuzen muss man aber viel Zeit mit bringen. Bei mir hat es ca. 40 Minuten gedauert. Zu 2 und 3) Da ich nur einen Ultimaker Original habe und hin und wieder meinem Nachbar, der einen Ultimaker 2 hat, helfe weiß ich nicht genau wo die Einstellungen sind. Es gibt aber bei den Grundeinstellungen am U2 die Möglichkeit die Temperatur, den Durchmesser des Material usw. vor ein zu stellen. Dort findest du auch die Temperatur des Druckbettes. Das Plugin beutze ich immer um die Temperatur des Heizbettes zu veringern, da bei mir 115 Grad auf dauer zu viel waren (Warping nimmt zu) aber mit 115 die Haftung am besten war. Da mein UM aber überall offen ist muss ich hier ggf. die Temperatur höher stellen als du.
