  1. Please see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w475N2kph0w Cura 12.08 Object Bushing.stl from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:26094 (Ultimaker Extruder Drive Upgrade by Bertho). Put 5 Copies of it into the project planner in Cura 12.08, Autoplace, sliced, printed. Usual setting, 0,2mm Layer height, 20% infill, Center of Board 60/60 instead of 100/100 (due to worn tape atm). Normal speed, Filament from Ultimaker (shipped with Ultimaker).
  2. MakerBot came up with a statement, read here: http://www.makerbot.com/blog/2012/09/20/fixing-misinformation-with-information/ "Could we make that more user friendly? Yes, but lawyers cost money and making it simple for people to understand will cost many hours of lawyer time." *sighs*
  3. I am currently adding a heated bed to the Ultimaker (using the instructions from http://flashgamer.com/arduino/comments/adding-a-heated-build-platform-to-your-ultimaker. I want to use the Marlin Builder (http://daid.eu/~daid/marlin_build/) for modifying the firmware, but i don't want to venture to far from the original presets that came with the Ultimaker. But i was unable to find something like a "Ultimaker Default Profile" :-/ The bubble help on the Marlin Builder is ok, but there are several points where i am unsure, e.g: -> Enable PID temperature control -> Kp: 22.2 Ki: 1.08 Kd: 114 But in the bubble help it says: 22.2/1.25/99 are good for the Ultimaker ? What machine are 22.2/1.08/114 good for then? Why is that pre-filled with these values? -> Max feed rate X:250 Y: 250 Z: 5 E: 45 http://wiki.ultimaker.com/Marlin_firmware_for_the_Ultimaker says: default: {X160, Y160, Z10, E500000} 500,000 vs 45!? -> Enable UltiController (Enables the offical UltiController hardware. This will also enable SD card support) But it doesn't preselect "Enable SD card support" below. Will there be an error if both boxes are checked? And "Enable UltiPanel" - is different from UltiController? I understand that the Marlin Builder is a very flexible tool which supports many different kinds of hardware and modifications. But it would be nice to have some kind of "Ultimaker Baseline" which is documented and official. Because with every difference between platforms, troubleshooting becomes more (and unnecessary) complex. So, anyone got a 1.5.6 electronics current Ultimaker Marlin Builder dataset for me? :-)
  4. I print at the "usual" 210 degrees Celsius. Lately i noticed, that the Cura Print Dialog shows me a temperature of 213 degrees for the whole print while the Ulticontroller shows me 210. Cura 08.12 I think, before using the Ulticontroller, Cura did show the correct temperature. Cura (and Ulticontroller) still show the temperature when heating (rising), but Cura stays at the slightly overshot temperature while the Ulticontroller updates the temperature. Anybody seen similar? I didn't know where to put this topic, as it involves Cura, Ulticontroller and possible Firmware (i run the stock one with my Ultimaker)
  5. Many thanks, that answers my question :-)
  6. Hello, i just finished assembling my Ultimaker and did some test-prints. Mainly the 20mm Cube from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5573 I measure 19,65mm for each axis on the finished cube. I know that for material extrusion one can adjust the "E" parameter - but is there a way to calibrate the X and Y axis in cura? Maybe i am just blind, but i can't find a setting for that it seems - and i want to have a 20mm box that is 20mm in physics :-) Any tips? Cura 12.08, Marlin 1.0.0RC3 (i think), Batch7 machine, just assembled 2 days ago.
