  1. Sorry for the delay in answering, was on holiday. I was wrong, just installed a new heated bed and the leveling was completely off that was the reason why it wasn't working properly. Your plugin is thus working perfectly! Using it now :-)
  2. Is this plugin not compatible with an UMO? I tried to print a piece with the first 2mm on 0.2mm and the rest on 0.1mm. The lines in the first layers were separated, it seemed as if the 0.2mm layers were being printed with the flow of 0.1mm layers? I'm printing the same piece on my UM2 and there everything seems to be ok so far. Thanks for the plugin btw! I have a very big order and I'm trying to optimize print speed, thus this comes in very handy!
  3. I'm working on the Lock-Nesters certification as well and I'm rotating every separate piece until the support layers are correct. A bit time consuming but once you have the right angle, it prints ok :-) Still wondering why Cura is unable to create support in the right places. I guess it is because the first layer is too small to be supported?
  4. Just to update my previous reply ... I also have the issue with other materials like Faberdashery: I will check my hotend as well! Just checked it, the hole is nice and center, so I don't have the same issue:
  5. Can you reproduce this problem with PLA from another supplier? The reason why I ask is because yesterday I printed with a roll Ultimaker - Ultimate Blue and I had the same problem. But when I print with ColorFabb & Faberdashery I don't have this issue. As I wanted the Ultimate Blue color I decided to slow down the print from 50mm/s to 30mm/s and increase Expert -> Infill overlap from 15% to 25% and it came out almost perfect. So I'm not convinced that this is a completely Cura issue, it seems to be material dependent.
  6. http://colorfabb.com/xt That one says transparent multiple times ;-) Great material!
  7. Replaced my middle fan with the fan from ebay (linked a bit higher). What a difference! Glad I did that :-)
  8. Just finished a test on my new UM2. It was delivered a week ago and only replaced the middle fan. It doesn't have the newest extruder version (G?) yet. Let's hope it stays this way!
  9. I have an Ultimaker since november 2012, great stuff! Maybe our ultimakers should meet each other, I live in Wilrijk, antwerp area
  10. I'm on the same page about switching back to Cura from KISSlicer once it has a new engine. I never managed to print out good 1mm walls with Cura, they were always in two separate parts. And i think, most of people's profiles will mostly be the same, it's the small changes that are interesting :-)
  11. Yeah, let's hope we all converge to a good slicer sometime. On the other hand a set of different slicers is good to keep innovation happening, look at other monopolists :-)
  12. So, I'm a webdeveloper by trade and something I use a lot are things like gists and plnkr.co . They make it easy to share small snippets of code or other small parts of code so others can get started easily. In my experience with 3d printing, the slicing profiles everybody uses involve a little bit of 'magic'. A slicing profile to start with, for instance KISSlicer, was also hard to find. Daid also talked about sending back profiles/usage logs from Cura to log them so they can learn something about the usage of Cura and/or slicing profiles. But the problem here is that it's a bit weird for a desktop program to be communicating with servers on the internet, some people don't like that  All these things made me think that it would be a good thing if we had an easy way to share slicing profiles, or even specific profiles for printing out a specific 3d model. So I created a proof-of-concept of my idea on http://printlogger.kreativgeek.be . It's a simple webapp where you can add a new print/slicing profile/gcode. You simply select the generated gcode file (the settings have to be included in this gcode file, you can enable this in kisslicer settings) and it parses it locally (no gcode is uploaded to the server). Only KISSlicer gcode is currently supported as it's a proof-of-concept. You can then save the information to the server and from then on, you can link to the page from anywhere. You can see a slicing profile I added at http://printlogger.kreativgeek.be/#/prints/513e45e203c07b0200000001 So, my questions for you are : Do you think something like this is useful? Or is it unnecessary? Would it just be about sharing slicing profiles? Or more? Like specific profiles for specific models for specific printers? I really don't like the name for the project, any suggestions? Any other feedback I'm curious to hear your opinion on this! PS: The webapp is hosted on free Heroku hosting, so it could be slow sometimes, sorry for that
  13. I've noticed on this picture that the screw in the wheel that turns against the PLA seems to be pretty tight. Are you sure that the wheel (look at the picture I attached, where my thumb is) is rotating freely? If I'm stating the obvious, sorry for wasting your time
  14. If I remember correctly from a talk with Erik the temperature read out is an analog signal that goes from the nozzle to the main board, so I think it's quite perceptive to noise. Maybe you can keep the noise down by not connecting via USB and doing the readout from the UC? We had a lot of problems with noise inflicted from two separate grounds (from adapter and from USB) when I did some high detail temperature readouts with an Arduino and a separate ADC for another project. That being said, I don't have any of the problems above, temperature is nice and steady with my UM, but I never connect a computer to the UM (except for firmware upgrades)
  15. Just wanted to say that my notifications from the forum where ending up in my spam folder (Gmail). So if anybody is wondering why they're not getting any notifications, that could be the reason :-)
  16. Indeed, looking good! Exciting :-)
  17. Maybe it's a good idea to just try to connect to a Arduino that's not connected to the UM? Just to be sure there isn't a driver issue?
  18. Have you solved this issue? Was the problem belt tension?
