The Ultimaker is open source hardware. http://blog.ultimaker.com/open-source-hardware/ As long as I don't try to make any money off it by selling individual components, or the whole printer, myself then I don't think I'm doing anything wrong by trying to compile a Bill Of Materials. If anyone at Ultimaker have any objections please let me know. I have no desire to cause any problems. I'm trying to compile a complete Bill Of Materials. Whilst I can get general descriptions of each of the required parts, there is often no detail. Basically right now I am going through each wiki page, compiling a generic list, and then trying to figure out actual part numbers etc by searching through the forum. So far it is slow going LOL So if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'll just add specific questions for the parts I'm trying to track down at the time and see if anyone can help with that part. Right now I'm trying to determine the 8mm ball bearings. I can see that they are 688 but that comes in both 5mm thick (688A) and 6mm thick (688B). Is someone able to confirm which is the correct thickness? EDIT: I'm assuming they are just standard chrome bearings and not stainless steel? Is that correct? EDIT 2: Can someone confirm the material for the various nuts and bolts? e.g. Stainless Steel or Zinc plated mild steel, or high tensile steel. Right now I'm assuming zinc plated mild steel is being used.
