kun je dat wat meer toelichten? afbeelding of printscreen van cura?
Wat wil je er mee bereiken, welke cura versie?
Cura doet juist zijn best om te zorgen dat de extruder evenredig blijft draaien met de printsnelheid.
Maar misschien wil je dat juist niet?Groeten Kees

I'm trying to make some filament with a friend's Protocycler.
But until now no succes, nothing use full.
Somebody around here, who got it up and running?
I'm desperately searching for tips, tricks and input

geen idee welke configuratie je gebruikt.
Zelf gebruik een momenteel een UM3 met cura 2.4 en 2.5..
Heb wel gemerkt dat cura het fijn vindt om het knopje eject te gebruiken.
Was nog al eens een save kwijt, of je print per ongeluk een oude versie omdat de nieuwe er niet op blijkt te staan.
Saven en netjes ejecten en geen last meer mee

Well, Cura already died for your sins; You don't have an active quality profile (as visible from not having a name in the profile dropdown) which means something already went horribly wrong.

.The values change with the profiles, My own profiles do show, the standard UM ones don't

Hi Kees,
What is the wall thickness of the manually added support? Is it 0.4mm? In that case in Cura 1.5.4 changing the line width to 0.39 was good enough in 1.5.4 but in 2.4 it is not. In 2.4 you need to change the nozzle size to 0.38 to get walls of 0.4mm.
I regulary use objects with 0.4mm lines.

I checked the Thickness it's 0.7mm so should be no problem.
The thickness problem could show after slicing, but until now never happened in solid view..

Voor de serieuzen en niet 'puntenscoorders' onder U, kijk hier eens naar aub?
Ik vindt het wel heel vreemd en beetje verontrustend.
Beetje eng ook dat cura 2.4 gaat uitmaken hoe een STL file er uit ziet.
Nou werk ik al 25 jaar met 3d Programma's maar dit trekt toch wel mijn aandacht :(.

a question/complaint/remark whatever, but I don't like it :(.
I don't complain that often, but I guess this is something for HQ to look into.
Loading the same stl in 2.4 and 15.04.5 gives a difference. manually added supports are not shown nore printed in 2.4. What happened here?
In the meantime, I try to upload the stl somewhere...

Die Ultimaker toch, was je 4 jaar terug 1 dag bezig met schroevendraaiers, handleidingen en veel geduld.
Tegenwoordig druk je zondags op een button, klein detail dat er ook 3x zoveel geld overgemaakt moet worden, maar in elk geval brengt dinsdagmiddags mijnheer dhl een nieuwe UM3.
Tis wat, maar hij draait weer..

Hi People,
How to update the firmware of a UM3 from a USB stick?
The original version is 3.4, I would like to update with 3.5.
Firmware versions are not that easy to find on the site :(
Until now I found the links on the UM3 manual page.
Wat would be the proper extensions?
after downloading they are named latest.tar.tar and latest.tar.xz.tar ,would that be correct?
Following the manual, UM3 should look at the USB stick, the only thing happening is the LCD screen says No firmware found...
And Yes I scrolled through the forum but not to much topics and answers found......

Hi,
in custom support settings a lot of nice looking settings available, Tower and such.
But I don't see a difference in layer view, too experimental I guess :(
As a UM3 user myself, I use a 10% support with a solid interface were the support touches your print. If you like you could even use your normal PLA for support and use PVA for the interface. Cheaper and less messy when cleaning with water.
No answer to your question, but it could speed up the printing

nog maar een vraag, wordt bijna moedeloos van de onoverzichtelijkheid van de hoofdafdeling.
vorige maand al eens op zijn engels gevraagd, maar nog geen reacties, tot nu toe.
we hebben op mijn werk een aantal printers, op het moment een UM3 extended en een big builder dual.
cura 2.3 kwam met de UM3 binnen natuurlijk, dat heb ik inmiddels redelijk aan de gang.
Verbeter punten zijn er nog zat, profielbeheer is nog niet naar min zin, maar dat is een ander verhaal.
Het is een school, leerlingen stappen binnen, wanneer ze iets geprint moeten hebben, altijd op het laatste moment natuurlijk... (deed ik vroeger ook)..
Dus ik wil die Bigbuilder dual ook met cura 2.3 laten draaien..
welke json kan ik hier het handigst voor aanpassen?
ik heb hem aan de gang, een aantal files gekopieerd en aangepast, werkt prima, behalve..
ik moet elke keer voor het slicen met de hand ingeven dat er een heated bed op zit, op een of ander manier wordt dat niet gesaved...
Iemand dat al eens bij de hand gehad?

Hoi,
zijn er al mensen hier die cura 2.4 aan de gang hebben?
ik probeer het hier eens want in de hoofdsectie is door de bomen het bos niet meer te zien.
Kreeg vandaag een uitnodiging om het te reviewen via asana en surveymonkey.
Leuk en prachtig, maar dan moet het wel willen draaien.
Maar niet dus, alle 2.zoveel versies al uninstalled, opnieuw opgestart, 2.4 weer geïnstalleerd, maar niks.
iemand ideeen?
is de link via products/software up to date?

Hi,
Using cura 2.3.1 with a UM3.
tried to make myself a custom json file (copied from UM1 org dual extr.) for a Big-Builder dual.
All works well, except.... the heated bed setting.
Each time I start cura I have to manually add a heated bed, in printer settings.
Any idea wich file to modify, to have the setting stored?

Would be nice if someone at UM R&D could make it a plug & play kit or Option, there should be some time left with the UM3 in production
.I am not in a hurry, I sleep on it for a few nights.
Spending 3000€ is easy to do, but would be nice to start printing an hour after unboxing
. tinkering and experimenting is fun and fine as a hobby at home, but not for a company. Ordering and storing 10 extra 2.85mm rolls of filament, might be a easier option. -

let's say I order a UM2+ extended, modify it with the 1.75mm kit.
Will it print the same quality (or better
).Looking in to this option because we have 1.75mm printers at the moment,
would be nice to have only one size of filament in stock....

So custom firmware upgrade is definitely buried now?
For this version, yes. Permanently? No. To be honest, I kinda forgot about that feature. If people really want / need this feature, I'll make sure it gets added back into 2.x
I assume especially on UMO users it is relevant!
Honestly, I get the impression that the support for UMO users is gradually decreasing.... :-(
Not everybody has the budget to switch over to UMO+ or UM2 so PLEASE keep this in mind screwing on CURA...

Hi Spence,
don't expect much help from me. Until now same problems, way to much variation in diameter. For now my focus is on the stepper-drivers and the chain drive of the extruder, that skips a few teeth every now and then.
I would like to find a update on firmware or a standard basic script ( as they name it on the site) so you have something to start with....
