I guess this one is pretty much for UM2 owners (again)
Good luck out there.
No need for us to worry @Titus!!! Extruder update kit, still trying to keep up with our old UM orginals
-

The most important feature I would like to see is different layer height support.
That would be such a huge improvement on print speed and quality.
I like that you added profiles per object (important thing) but the layer height feature would be something that makes cura special.
I don't understand why that's not already implemented, it seems so obivous to me ?
My vote would be a big YES, for different layer heights, but the latest official Ultimaker answer was a big NO... . something with licenses and patents, Guess that''s why you have to buy a program like Simplify3D.
Some of my other wishes (not found in the closed beta yet) would be.
(Perhaps someone notices them..)
1 A random infill option.. Like in 2012 versions.... To get a infill not visible in the outer shell and to use with transparent materials.
2 The possibility to extract profiles from earlier prints. A LOT easier than keeping track of saved profiles.
3 For the dual extruders, the use of different nozzle diameters and flowsettings .

Another thought....
In my humble opinion, we (me, you, the community, R&D @ Ultimaker) should concentrate on stopping the leaking. A dual head change system will not solve that, perhaps if you could tackle the leaking problem, but then you would not need the change system anymore.
Once upon a time the dual extrusion was new and Hot. Cura (@daid) come up with the idea of wipe towers, ooze shields and such. Super ideas, but nobody (user or software) could figure out how much priming was needed to compensate the for leaked filament.
In the new cura I saw a setting for extra a prime amount, have not tried it with a dual extruder though :(. But I'm pretty sure it is a 'one' time setting, so will not calculate how much the leaking extruder will need.

Funny, in this thopic was told from problems, which was a reason to don't do further deloppments on dualextrusion: https://ultimaker.com/en/community/10344-company-update?page=1&%3Bsort=
It was a big part of the thopic. So I thought it was a serious problem.
Now the information contradict what I have. Because this I don't know what is facts.
Well, It was indeed a serious problem, the printhead modifications that came with the kit, were insufficient, hard to adjust the height. not sturdy enough to keep the height setting during the print. Even retraction and feeder pressure, made a difference in height because it was to flexible.
After some experimenting I made/printed myself a new printhead, easier to set the levels and hold them during the print. As said in your quoted topic the 'knocking and hitting previous layers' was solved. dual-printhead.
Stil leaving the bigger problem (in my opinion). of oozing/leaking.
At first people added extra parts to their design to wipe the nozzles before printing the other colour. Later Daid come up with a more professional ooze shield in Cura, a extra wall around the print.
It all helped, but prints were still dirty from the different colours/materials.
Took a lot of extra time in retractions and movements.
So not to many people are using it anymore I guess :(.
Regards Kees, keep up your good ideas!!!
all hoping the problem is solved one day.....

Hi Arne,
Good to see some thoughts about the dual extruder again, or I do not look into the forum deep enough..
After a few months of trying and modifying, I honestly admit I abandoned the second hotend to spareparts.
Looking at your idea, my first thought is, your looking into a problem I am not aware of.
There is no (with the right adjusting, or a alternative printhead design) problem with hotends hitting a printed layer.
The problem is in oozing, leaking of the nozzle, lifting the nozzle or printhead would only delay the problem, because it keeps leaking.
For the design, the downside is it adds a lot of extra weight which will reduce your speed.
Speed might not be a problem, if the print quality is a huge improvement.
Speed could be solved with a better Drive, wider belts, heavier motor, sturdier guide rods etc.
My guess is you first have to look at the nozzle leaking :(.

Hallo,
Groeten Kees

Well ... thanks!!!.. woohw I'm a winner .
First off all, I did not join for the prize, but more for the fun, liked the contest @Aaronalai { with the beard and the buddy holly glasses, nice guy, don't see him around anymore...) set up a year ( or more? ) ago.
Now I see why it took @titus so long to upload his print,.. he had to visit the Albert The Heijn again, because he eat to much of his props...
Yesh yesh, going through the selection procedure now! Only 4 pictures left.
Officially
Officially, we would like to refrain from approving drug-useI don't like and have anything to do with any drugs use (apart from caffeine, nicotine and alcohol , although living in Tilburg might prove otherwise), the blame is totally on @nallath because he posted the Dutch Milkmaid picture.
Did not have a look at the next contest yet, but I don't hope it has anything to do with plugins that would be @dim3nsioneer 's turf.....
once the promotion is over I am planning to keep doing these contests but over a longer period of time (and with a different prize).I would like it.. Please keep me in the Loop, perhaps with a little more time... 2 weeks or a Month...
I have to talk to 3DCase what he prefers to do with his prize if he doesn't have an Ultimaker 2 (what his profile suggests).I assume @titus prints the old-fashioned way as well, otherwise I would like to donate the prize to him..( or should I check if the next prize is a UM2?)
Otherwise..
I have to talk to 3DCase what he prefers to do with his prize if he doesn't have an Ultimaker 2 (what his profile suggests).I'm sure we can find some kind of a solution...
Let's check out the next contest....
Regards Kees (and thanks again for the honour)

Damn, someone beat me to it, being the first poster. But all ingredients are now done, now the only remaining thing is sunlight tomorrow
titus titus hurry!!!
only one evening left.....

you konw you have to use a .4 nozzle for the contest
Heuh... :(.
ooh ooh, time to develop a plan B...

Thanks for the Jason file thing, was looking onto the new cura for the bearing contest.
The heated bed is not to hard to do manually.
It keeps crashing on Wire print, was wondering what that was.
-
Same here, any news?
Tried to run 1.99.0 20151117
UMO with heated bed kit checked heated bed at the settings but won't show.
Where to find nozzle size setting?
and things as buildsize volume?
Regards Kees
15.09.09 UMO with HBK(official)
The bed temperature isn't showing, so I can't change it xD
Nor can I find the nozzle size setting.

woohw @grpiotr91 That's small.
You just send me back to my techcave 8).. now I can start over again LOL.
edit...
did you alter the model? see you have a little shaft thing instead of a hole?
-
Found it!!!!
diameter = 19.5 mm..

Hi all,
took sometime to find my way on the forum again....
A material question.
Yesterday I made my first roll of recycled PP filament.https://www.facebook.com/kees.deligt/videos/1154769167884844/?pnref=story
For a first try, did not look too bad.
But...
Any tips or tricks for printing?
I can't keep it stuck to the bed. tried temperatures from 70 to 110 C.
Using tape or gluestick.
Nothing seem to work....
Regards Kees

Aha Nice,
now I finally can tell my wife it's worth filling the house with old things!!! Let's find my old entry somewhere. it was small. Might be hard to find......
-
Moghu,

I'm working with 15.02.1 and it runs with windows 10
edit..
Even the old version 13.04 I use for small and transparent prints still works (Lucky me )

I'm in @SandervG ,
See if I can pimp and finetune my dual printhead, you never know how a 'cow catches a haze' .
