  1. Da solltest du alle gängigen (Modellbau-)Farben nehmen können, also Enamel und Acryl. Airbrush geht auch.
  3. What a pity they haven't made some photos of the bottom of the machine, electronics and so. That'd be an interesting point.
  4. I'm quite disappointed about the new Ultimaker2. Not all of the most important aspects have been fixed. Bad: - No dual printing. WHY?? I think that this should be standard now. - No heat chamber. Forget this printer if you want to do in ABS. - No PEI print plate. For example the Kuhling&Kuhling printer is using it. The VERY BEST in means of print surface. The latest blog entry is talking about gluesticks. Are you serious, Ultimaking? - "Low cost material" Where? 31,50 EUR for 750 g material is quite high. Good: - It has a heated bed. Wow! Already standard for at least 2 years in the reprap world. - The bigger print envelope and larger build ratio is indeed very nice. - The hot-end which seems to be made out entirely of metal is a must in my opinion. I'm sorry, but I truly don't see why this printer should be worth about 2000 EUR.
  11. Ultimaker - the perfect accessory for every home. ;-D
  12. Best setting I found for hiding seams is a depth of 0.5 and a jitter of 0. It doesn't avoid seams completely but the seams get so thin that you can feel them barely.
  13. With paint it's even nicer. Good work!
  14. Simply no. MEK is a only (a stronger) derivate of acetone. It does not work nor does THF. They only dehydrate the PLA material but don't treat it in a manner of dissolving and resolidifying when evaporating as acetone does to ABS. By the way MEK (also called butanon) as like acetone is not toxic at all. You can give them a try, but I promise that they won't work.

    HDPE

In German section of this forum user DeerDingsda is currently experimenting with PE and HDPE but without any results yet. So go ahead and give it a try on your Ultimaker and report how's it performs as a 3d printing material. I'm curious, too.
  16. The only known chemical that finishes PLA like acetone does to ABS is called "Dichloromethane". I wouldn't recommend it as it's toxic. Either switch to ABS, then you can use the non-toxic acetone, or try sanding, filing, and filling it with car filler as best as you can although you'll probably never achieve a look on PLA parts as smooth as on actone-finished ABS parts.
  19. I'm happy that you were able to crowdfund it in such a short time. You won't get disappointed, it's a very neat machine.
  20. That was super interesting. It's fascinating that they use more less standard household equipment for dyeing nylon parts.
  22. Haha, that's awesome, guys. Just keep posting your updates, gadgetfreak. I never thought that I sell a product that has been crowdfunded or kind of.
  23. Der UltiController ist ein absolutes Muss. Kann ich auch nur empfehlen.
