  1. Thank you! I have now raised the platform and removed the cover to the controller board. Unfortunately I cannot remove the 4th screw that holds the electronics board in place as that one i hidden under the big vertical metal piece in the left back side. Jonny, that was actually it. I connected the printed via USB to update the firmware. Gr5, I have unplugged the power supply and will try again in a while.
  2. My UM2 is totally dead. After printing on and off today it suddenly said "CLICK" as if some electronics piece broke and then it is totally dead. The sound came from the electronics box at the bottom of the printer. The blue light on the power supply is on but I cannot get any life out of the UM2. The small fan on the head doesn't start and neither does the display. Totally dead. The cover of the electronics box seems to be screwed from the inside but I cannot reach those screws as the bed is in the way and as I do not have any power in the machine I cannot raise it. Does anybody have suggestion for what to try next?
  3. Thank you Sander, ticket has been open since yesterday afternoon. No answer. I look forward to the screws.
  4. Thank you David/Daid. I have an open ticket with support since yesterday afternoon and I suggest what you just wrote.
  5. First of, I have not forgotten the search function BUT I have had bad search carma. Thank you for the pointers to the other thread. I my case it turns out after some more testing and it turns out that two of the four screws holding the fan in place do not actually grab into the metall. I.e. they are loose. Either thicker screws are needed or a new piece of metal cover I guess. I removed the screws, pinched the metal a bit and the noise was reduced a lot.
  6. Several UM2 users seems to have reported that one of the fans on the head is loose and makes a lot of noise. I have this issue on my UM2 (left one) and I am wondering if there is any known solution to this problem?
  7. Woohoo success! The problem was that the bowden tube didn't go all the way down into the head so the PLA never reached the heated nozzle. Removed the tube, pushed loose PLA into the head and started flowing, pushed back the bowden tube and now I am printing my first print. Woohoo.
  8. Haha!! Thanks for laugh! That was a good one
  9. Thanks but that is something that feels rather strange to do on a brand new machine for €2000! I wonder if Apple would ever recommend that on a brand new laptop?
  10. Are there any instructions available on how to remove the nozzle on an UM2? Video?
  11. This morning I did a quick test via a factory reset (again) suddenly I did get some of the old PLA (transparent burned) popped out and I got some flow but much thinner than on my UM1. Did an unload and load as I once again had grinded PLA and after the load nothing comes out again. Dismantling the head on a brand new machine feels like a "no-no". How can it be shipped this way? To me this is a machine that is DOA - DeadOnArrivel and should be replaced if it cannot be fixed easily. /Peter who is losing faith in the Ultimaker company and production
  12. I have only been using my UM2 for a couple of hours and I already found the "start at 0" thing annoying. Many micro wave ovens have the same problem and there it is usually solved by the increase in value increases the more you turn and by that speeding up the increase of the temperature value. The user interface on most phones do the same these days.
  13. The PLA reaches the and then stops inside the covered part of the head. I am guessing that there is a left over piece of PLA inside the print head that isn't pushed forward. When the new PLA reaches this stop in the print head, the feeder starts slipping and starts grinding. The new PLA doesn't reach the "hot part" as the end of the PLA is not melted at all if I pull it out. I have tested the temperature but holding PLA to the head it melts fine. I have also raised the temperature of the head to 260 but it doesn't make any difference. I have seem a very small amount of melted transparent PLA coming out of the head (the new one in pink). This feels like a clogged nozzle :(
  14. Got my UM2 today (finally, woohoo) and I happily unboxed it. Followed the instructions to get PLA into the machine, bed levelling etc. BUT it cannot get the machine to extrude anything. There is no PLA coming out of the nozzle. The load instructions says to wait until PLA is flowing out of the nozzle but the material feeder just keeps grinding into the PLA without anything coming. I retracted the PLA and cut away the piece with the "grind and loaded again. Still same issue. Interrupted it and tried to manually extrude vie the "mover material" in the menu. Still Nothing. Tried to just let it print as I thought it would slowly get material out (even if it was into thin air). Still Nothing. Raised the temperature to 230. Still Nothing. Any ideas on what to try next? Thank you in advance! /Dissapointed Ps. I have many more comments on the machines itself (loose screws, left fan making a lot of noise, LED-list being loose, dirty machine including human hair!).
  15. For those waiting, I can mention that I ordered mine on Sept 22 and I got delivered today (should have been yesterday if DHL locally had not screwed up). I got an email from Ultimaker that it had shipped when just had shipped and not days later as has been indicated here.
  16. Thank you. I give it some love with sewing machine oil. And yes, this is on my UM1 because I still do have any UM2
  17. My left Y-rod has starting moving by about 4-5mm back and forth and this of course makes printing impossible. I have tightened the covers over the holes where the rod goes in/out. Is it just the covers that should hold it in place or am I missing something crucial? Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this? The other rods are not moving at all.
  18. I have sort of given up on support for my UM1. :( 4 weeks waiting now to resolve a ticket. Got one question back from Sander which I answered and then nothing. No idea if the spare part has been sent or not.
  19. Or just take a stroll outside. It won't arrive faster with a tracking number. /He can say as Ultimaker has not shipped his UM2 yet
  20. Here is a picture of an attempt of multicolor prints I did this summer. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/search/multicolor?pid=5909011874784768274&oid=104199731463622588564
  21. I find it rather strange that orders placed within the first days of the launch has still not shipped. I order ordered on the 22th and it has also not shipped. Cannot Ultimaker give us a list of orders with order numbers and then we (the paying customers) can see where in the queue we are.
  22. Thank you. Finally some actual dates!! Appreciate this. Ps. Don't forget about the support tickets for UM1 issues!
  23. Well, I ordered on Sept 22 and it still has not shipped and I really hope it will ship during next week. Their sales support said earlier this week that I would have it by the end of the week (which I guess was two days ago).
