Set Default Material When Connecting to Printer
Dim3nsioneer replied to alkekmakerspace's topic in UltiMaker Cura
@alkekmakerspace Opening the pull-down menu of the material selection and selecting the first entry as a default process is not an option? -
I use a WiFi switch.

UM2+ switches off when heating buildplate
Dim3nsioneer replied to WindyMiller's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
This can be the PSU or a slight short in the print bed or the heater cartridge. Best measure the resistance of the latter two. The bed should be something like 3.5 ohms iIrc. -
Try a Digital Factory reset. I know, sounds strange, but it's some kind of soft reset that might cure the issue if it is something firmware-settings-related.

Ultimaker Pro will not see new materials
Dim3nsioneer replied to scottjkolb's topic in Materials & profiles
How do you have the printer and Cura connected? With a direct network connection or through the Digital Factory? What firmware is the printer on? -
And there is a solution with the Digital Factory. I would not expect Ultimaker to implement something similar into the firmware itself. The electronics inside the Ultimaker printers have limited capacity, hence the solution with the cloud service. If you need a stream, you might have to implement a webcam. The advantage there is that you can chose the angle.

The Ultimaker Digital Factory should solve your issue.

Adding hole for water removal after PVA Dissolve
Dim3nsioneer replied to HuszakM's topic in UltiMaker Cura
Yes to the first part and no to the second part. 😉 You almost had it 😃 Use gyroid infill and set 'Initial Bottom Layers" to zero. Now, we can start with the "what if"s... 😆 -

Original Ultimaler Material PETG wird als ABS erkannt
Dim3nsioneer replied to mitschka's topic in Deutsch
Brand New Ultimaker S5 is booting as an S3 model
Dim3nsioneer replied to balloway's topic in Firmware
Looks like a mainboard was wrongly provisioned: https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014266440 It should be able to cure that with a firmware recovery: https://support.ultimaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019088780 If you don't feel comfortable to do this by yourself, please contact the reseller. You also might want to give a feedback through the Ultimaker support system; this will help for QC. -
I assume the Ethernet connection was tested with a patched socket or a direct connection to a Mac or PC?
-
That is certainly worth trying first. If that doesn't help, a factory reset (reset all printer settings) might be necessary. 7.0.4 is the current firmware of the 'latest' channel. If you switch to the 'stable' channel, you will get 7.0.3. That change might also be something to consider.
-
I would replace the board even if one could replace the electronic components since the burned surface might have become conductive and would still be a safety hazard. Ultimaker resellers should be able to get you a new board. You find all official resellers at ultimaker.com/resellers. As a side note, it really needs quite some force to connect the power plug the other way round.

Usage Tracking across Ultimaker range?
Dim3nsioneer replied to GaryBuller's topic in UltiMaker Academy
If you use Ultimaker Digital Factory, you can download a file for all printers together (menu 'Print Jobs' and then the 3-dot-menu on top right). -

Did you check the 'skip cooldown' option in the three dot menu on the top right?

Cura, how to connect base support structures together?
Dim3nsioneer replied to BsimsPrint3d's topic in Improve your 3D prints
Increasing the value at 'support join distance' might help. I often set this to 10-15mm. Cura gives a warning with such values but the result is a clean, sturdy support structure that often is printed faster than the individual islands together. -
Have a look at support.ultimaker.com, section 'Software'. There you find various manual-like descriptions and topics about Ultimaker Cura.

Ultimaker 2 not registering nozzle change
Dim3nsioneer replied to trevorlaurencehill's topic in UltiMaker 3D printers
Is it an UM2 or an UM2+? @CarloKmight certainly know better but if it is a not plus printer (and firmware) could it have something to do with the fixed nozzle of the UM2? Either in the firmware or in Cura. -
Selecting material in S5 Material Station from Cura
Dim3nsioneer replied to sjolly's topic in UltiMaker Cura
Some materials are not compatible with some print core types. Cura only shows you the selections possible with the current print cores installed. Maybe that narrows it in your case.
