  1. That is a question you probably would have to ask to igus since it's the manufacturer who decides if a material should be made compatible with the material station.
  2. Afaik the firewall only blocks internal network prints atm but not the USB port. I would probably use a seal sticker on the front panel. A more radical approach would be to disconnect the USB connector from the mainboard. For that you would have to open the bottom of your S3. You would do that in your own responsibility.

  4. Please be aware that the development of Cura by Ultimaker is focussed on Ultimaker 3d printers. I assume you use Cura with a third party printer. In such a case the open-sourceness is key. That means, the creator of that printer profile or the manufacturer of the printer (which would be the same in an ideal case) should care about the USB connection by Cura. In case you try to print through USB from Cura to an Ultimaker printer: it's not recommended, please use the sd card or Octoprint instead.
  5. There might be an alternative. If you bought that S3 after April 2020, it came with Ultimaker Essentials, the entry level Ultimaker software plan. Part of that plan is Ultimaker Cura Enterprise. That is a security-checked version of Ultimaker Cura that updates twice per year and gets official support for the last two versions from Ultimaker. That means, your IT department could install that Cura version and would only have to update it once per year (except for urgent bug fixes).

  7. The flow error is displayed if the measured flow is smaller than 80 percent of the flow defined by the print file. If the end of the filament is still 10cm away from the nozzle, somewhere inside the Bowden tube, it might flow with almost 100 percent but still you would have no extrusion. The sensor measures the flow through the feeder, not through the nozzle.
  8. What kind of answer do you expect? A broken NFC chip can happen from time to time. Not perfect, but also not a biggie. Just select the correct material manually and enjoy printing. 🙂
  9. Make sure you have the newest firmware version of your update channel installed. IIrc there was a recent update concerning the flow sensor during loading. As for no filament coming out of the nozzle: the sensor only detects the (in)correct flow but can of course not detect if the filament is at the wrong position (e.g. due to an early confirmation at loading).
  10. I would mask the last part of the serial no. on that picture since the complete number could also be abused.

  12. You can easily achieve this with a S-line or 2+ Connect printer, the Digital Factory and an Ultimaker software plan like Ultimaker Essentials. Essentials comes with every new Ultimaker printer. If you already have an Ultimaker printer and don't need another one in forseeable future, please get in contact with your reseller for a seperate Essential license. You then can share a printer among individually selected people (teams) or with your whole organization, i.e. everyone you invite to sign up for a (free) Ultimaker account and to belong to your organization. On the S-line printer you can enable the firewall which restricts access to only Digital Factory access and disables direct network access.
  13. Since none of the Ultimaker printers runs with this specific firmware it would be a community job to add it since Cura is open source. Maybe you want to suggest it directly on Github or even provide the necessary code there? 😉
  14. Sounds a bit unlikely to me. Since maximum (continuous) print temperature on a S5 is 280degC, all the softening would have to happen in those last 30 deg. Usually such a phase transformation is not that sharp with thermoplastics.
  15. @mrtsDid you try yet a Digital Factory reset on the printer? It somehow works like a soft reset.
  16. For those not patient enough to wait for the printer to allow for confirming the removal: Just swap the glass plate with an empty (cool) one and you need less time.
  17. Der Filamentsensor des Ultimaker S5 basiert auf einem Encoder-Rad; das sollte auch mit komplett transparenten Filamenten kein Problem haben. Ich habe bei mir noch nie ein Sensor-Problem spezifisch mit PVA festgestellt. Im konkreten Fall von @Hering95 würde ich mal untersuchen, ob ev. irgendwo ein erhöhter Widerstand vorliegt. Wenn es nur bei PVA ist, dann würde ich mir zuerst den BB-Printcore vornehmen (Printcore-Cleaning mit Cold Pulls). Besagte Fehlermeldung kommt immer dann, wenn der Ist-Fluss unter 80% des Soll-Flusses fällt. Das kann auch bei einer teilverstopften Düse der Fall sein. Und natürlich sollte das PVA in einwandfreiem Druckzustand sein; im Zweifelsfall gerne mal 24-36 Stunden bei 55°C ausheizen.   18. Apart from cleaning the connector pins on the printcore pcb there is not much you can do about the printcore. And of course make sure the printcore is fully inserted into the slot but I assume you did that. What I find a bit strange is that you don't get a heater error when you try to manually heat the core - how long did you wait? You may also try to re-install the same firmware again to overwrite some potential typos from the active-leveling-disabling-procedure.
  19. Well, it's a quick solution. Purging centimeters of material (which is necessary to get a nozzle really cleaned out for some combinations) seems to me like a solution that takes way more time and wastes material. But that is of course just my point of view.
  20. In addition it should be mentioned that the generic ABS profile in Cura is basically for Ultimaker ABS which is a modified ABS. That means it prints at slightly lower nozzle and bed temperature than pure ABS which might be an issue if used with a pure or differently modified ABS.
  21. Certainly not what should be going on. I would try to upload the latest firmware through Cura; connect the printer with the USB cable and use the firmware update function in the printer settings dialog.
  22. An elephant foot is usually the result of an overextrusion or a too high temperature (and therefore a too low viscosity) on the first layer. Those should be the parameters to adjust for getting rid of it. From second layer on, no overextrusion should happen if e.g. the flow on the first layer is reduced a bit. Therefore I don't see a need for a second layer horizontal expansion adjustment for a well adjusted print profile.
  23. The contamination effect happens when going from a higher temperature material to a lower temperature material like PLA. A simple solution to avoid it would be to have different print cores for materials that differ more than 10 degree in print temperature.
  24. You guys are sure it's the fan and not the enabled xy stepper motors? There I hear such a noise. But if I perform a homing through the menu, they are disabled and the noise gone.
