  1. Yeah, I've left it on for an hour waiting for something to happen. It's just the fan noise and then nothing. Then you should contact your reseller tomorrow.
  2. On January 25th 2017 there will be an Ultimaker Meet-Up at FabLab in Lucerne (in the heart of Switzerland) for Swiss Ultimaker users. It will be hosted by the FabLab itself in cooperation with me and @iGo3D Switzerland. We are preparing an attractive program which you can find here. On the same page you can find a registration for the event (as the number of participants has to be limited due to the available space). What makes the program attractive? There will be printers from all three Ultimaker printer families there. There will be small workshops about Cura 2.3 (maybe 2.4 until then?), community mods etc. And last but not least, we will have a live feed to @SandervG ... (well, if that alone is not THE reason to join that meet-up...) We would like to have not only people already here on the forum at this event but also those who are not yet connected to other users here. So if you have a friend with an Ultimaker who you try to convince to join this forum: this is your chance; tell him/her about that meet-up. If you have a very cool modded Ultimaker yourself and would like to present it to other makers: it's now or never...! You're highly welcome to bring your own printer with you; just let us know in the registration. Of course it is also a great opportunity for people who finally want to checkout Ultimaker printers...
  3. Did you leave the machine switched on for one or two minutes? That starting of the fan followed by seemingly doing nothing is normal. But after a minute or so display should come up and finally also the LEDs.
  4. I once had an I2C error too on my UM3. And it turned out the BB core was not mounted properly...
  5. Are both cores mounted properly? Check it especially on the upper end.
  6. Mit SD-Karte drucken. Bei der UM2-Familie ist der Druck übers USB-Kabel nicht empfohlen.
  7. Something is broken on the Ultiboard 1.5.x, I would say. You did exactly the tests I also would have done. Are the set currents reasonable?
  8. Absolutely true. The print quality of the UM3 is slightly better than that of an UM2+. Overhang quality has improved due to the new fan situation. But the reason for the only small improvement is simple: the UM2+ is already a very good machine...
  9. Size of PLA prints vary with brand, color, temperature etc. Try to lower the temperature a bit.
  10. @mchahn: You can mark @Labern's answer easily as best answer. He is absolutely right about using Google search. @Labern: You should read your notifications from time to time...
  11. For the time being IMHO yes. But I'm sure there will be a nice solution at a later stage.
  12. edit: Forget it, it still doesn't work... :( I'm not really sure where this is referring to.. To the very same bug as always... I actually thought it has been fixed. Would have deleted the post but that's not possible...
  13. Yet alone the effort to coordinate the two heads...in the slicer and the firmware... This will be a very interesting project! I hope you get it running. I would be really curious to see such a printer.
  14. edit: Forget it, it still doesn't work... :(
  15. I agree that the relevant posts in a thread should be somehow bundled. The 'best answer' is a good start. Unfortunately it is not very well known I think.
  16. @Daid, I didn't have the time yet to read all your information about the UM3 interns. But I will. As this is by far the most complete description I've seen here about electronics and software in an Ultimaker product. You get a huge thank you from me! I'm convinced that these threads will be used for many months...
  17. @Sal_Alrous: Maybe you have read some other posts about the UM3 in the meantime and got more information about the UM3. If not: First, the UM3 is a new model. That means the UM2+ will be continued. That means, the price will stay the same. Maybe the price of second hand machines will drop a bit due to more machines being on that market. Why did you buy the UM2 Ext+ a month ago? Has anything changed about the reasons you bought that machine? If you wanted dual extrusion, why did you buy a single extrusion printer? If not, why do you need dual extrusion now? Is your motivation to own the flagship? Then you will have to take that bitter bite and sell your UM2 Ext+ and buy an UM3 Ext. Are you serious about that year ahead announcement? No tech company will ever announce a new product one year in advance if it's not covered by a systemic patent.
  18. yea I agree it is a bit disappointing. It is something that has been going back and forth in (almost) being solved but it has been very difficult to fix. I have never stopped trying to get it fixed, but as you probably understand the Ultimaker 3 introduction on the web received quite some priority lately. That's why I wrote the above reminder after the launch...
  19. I'm pretty sure UM has considered it. However, entering into SLA right now might not be the best idea as there are good desktop SLA machines as the Form2 and the pro market is redefined by the Carbon3D printers.
  20. @Melka: Can you really have for 3 euros in a French hardware store a borosilicate glass with exact the right dimensions for your Ultimaker (length, width and thickness) with rounded edges (not only rounded in x-y direction but also in z direction) with a 'attention warm' warning sticker on it (yes, that one has to be on it if you are a manufacturer!), wrapped in plastic with protective plastic wedges over each corner? If yes, please send me the address of that hardware store; I'll immediately buy a few there. Please don't get me wrong, I also think that Ultimaker spare parts (and Ultimaker products in general) are not cheap (and that the Ultiboard 2 could become a bit less expensive after almost 3 years of lifetime), but please let us do fair comparisons.
  21. Power management is only needed for UMO+. An UMO with a HBK upgrade should have more than enough power with both PSU together.
