  1. Hi folks, Just hoping that someone on here can help. I recently sold my factory assembled Ultimaker 1 on ebay. After two weeks that guy has come back to me to say that it isn't working. He says the following: 'The heat block and peek isolator screw threads are both filled with burnt plastic. There is so much in there they are not screwed together. I would need to heat with a blow torch to try and clean them out' and... 'I have already tried to give them a clean out. that's how I found there was so much burned material inside them. The threads are practically shot which is why you had so much plastic leaking and burning. A 15 min test is not really anything with one of these considering the time it takes to build a pice of any real size to get through material.' The 15 minute test that he mentions is where I printed a section of an item that I had previously printed before. This built up enough of the layers and also the honeycombing inside for me to be satisfied that the printer was working fully. There were no burn marks and structure was perfectly formed. Surely if the printer had these problems before I sent it to him then I wouldn't have been to print anything? Also I have never encountered any leaking or burning of the PLA. Basically what I'm asking is if anyone has ever encountered this problem before and could it be something that this person has done when setting up after he received it? Thanks in advance for any help or assistance. K.
  2. I have a barely used factory assembled Ultimaker 1 for sale. I had plans to start up my own business but had to take a paid job so now don't have the time to use the printer. The printer was purchase in August 2013 and since then I've probably printed less than 20 objects so it really hasn't been used. Being factory assembled it came with the UltiController included. Also in the sale:- PLA red, orange and white. (Orange is untouched, red has about 80-90% remaining and white about 60% remaining). One full reel of Scotch tape and one part used. 2GB SD Card As the printer has been barely used then I'm looking for no less than £800 + delivery. Payment would need to be bank transfer or cash. I'm only looking to sell and deliver within the UK. Also currently on Ebay. Inbox me for images.
  3. Hi Simon, Just wondered if you received the photos and are you still interested. I'm going to be out of the country from tomorrow for a week but will be able to sort when I get back Kevin
  4. Willing to drop the price down to £1,000 + delivery if anyone is interested.

  6. Hi all, I've set up a file in Sketchup which has multiple objects on it. When I bring it into Cura and look at layer view it has only put a skirt around one of the objects. How do I either (A) Make one big skirt to go around everything or (B) a seperate skirt for each object? Thanks
  7. Thanks guys! illuminarti - Under Fix Horrible I clicked on Combine Everything Type A. This seemed to do the trick. I also tried Combine Everything Type B and it filled in the wholes in 'o' and the 'e'. Trying a small test print which looks to be going ok. Thanks again.
  8. I'm still pretty new to all this and trying to learn the 3D software. I'm not sure if it's a Cura issue or Sketchup / C4D issue. I've created a word in both packages which should print as one piece but end up with the same result where the letters verlap aren't printed. Any ideas?
  9. I've sorted it. Realised that in Cura, Machine Settings in Preferences, the max sizes were set up incorrectly. They were default sizes so have changed them to the stated build volume sizes. Thanks for your replies guys
  10. Hi all, The build volume quoted is 210x210x220mm so why can't I print a file which is X: 137.66mm x Y: 203.06mm x Z: 9.46mm? They model is shown grey in Cura until I click 'To Max' where it reduces the model to 97%. The model colour then changes to green. I bought the Ultimaker on the understanding that you could print to the stated build volume size. Maybe I'm missing something glaringly obvious? Thanks
