Or put your UM2 box to good use.
-
@Didier
I love that spool holder, and is that an RPi camera I see on your UM2?
-
That's a UM1.
I read UM0 as UM [zero] and thought it might be a very early prototype.
Hangs head

Those are great looking gear prints, what CAD did you use to design them?
-
-
Temperature is set on the um2, not cura.
Select the tune menu, you'll find it.

Good idea or pure crazyness?
Pure crazyness!

YMMV.
Haha, I had to look that one up.

Well guys, I have not yet voted because I'm not yet certain what I'm voting for. To just turn up and meet a lot of other people who happen to own Ultimakers is not enough.
Ultimaker needs to be there in an official capacity. This means bringing along and demonstrating printers much as they do at trade fairs, but in addition maybe bring along prototype machines to show the direction they are going and what we can expect in the future. Even if some ideas never come to fruition it would be cool to see. Also - important one this - Spare Parts we can purchase, nozzles, heaters etc. This means the date needs to be fixed in collaboration with Ultimaker to be sure they are available.
Other people need to bring their printers as well, but in practice this is going to be limited to those that can drive there. It would be great to see some of the mods and hacks people have done.
Those that cannot bring printers could at least bring models they have printed. Maybe an area can be set aside for that.
Some talks and presentations would be terrific. Maybe Daid and Ian can repeat their recent presentations, possibly bringing them up-to-date if there's anything new.
There needs to be refreshments available, food, maybe somewhere where we can have a beer together.
Amsterdam sounds good to me as well, but I need more details before I could commit to airplane and hotel costs. Anyway, just some thoughts into the melting pot.

If you can persuade your gf to accept bronze instead of gold - go for it, you'll never find better.

Does anyone have an idea when Colorfabb will release this?

Do not annoy the Wookie!

I like the idea of overhead extrusion, but i guess that the extra weight effects print quality on average speeds ?
Everyone seems to say so, but I'm not so sure of that. My Up printer uses a head mounted extruder and produces excellent quality prints. Also at the MACH exhibition at the NEC last month I saw the Leapfrog creatr. This has two extruder motors mounted on the head. Didn't see it printing though so no idea on quality. It may need an acceleration tweak on the UM but I see no insurmountable problems.
I had been considering Gregwar's design.. . then Ian comes along with the Dragnet and teases with a head mount version :-P
-
I think hotend mounted feeders are the best solution.. then bye bye bowden !
Ian
Absolutely!
I've been considering this one by Gregwar.
But your dragnet really appeals to me ...
I'll wait for it.
..... .. . . .
Waiting.. .
How are you doing?
still waiting.... ... .. . . .

Bronze is not particularly expensive, around 10GBP/Kg in the UK.
The cost will be in the processing needed to turn the bronze into a fine enough powder and get it mixed with the PLA to a high enough quality not to jam our printers. Expect the final price to be very expensive.
-
I assume you mean one long extrusion here anchored at both ends like the existing bowden, rather than multiple segments?
An alternative idea is https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker2-on-the-top-extruder-mod by Gregwar

There is an official experimental update from Ultimaker, as well as a number of other designs.
Here is GR5's http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/4393-ultimaker2-feeder-system-improvements-and-ideas/?p=49802

I'm getting the same on the XP machine I use for 3D printing. When multiple models are on the build plate, only the first is selected/hi-lighted. The others cannot be selected. This happens on 13.10, 14.01 and 14.03. Changing from 32bit colour to 16-bit (and vice versa) makes no difference.
On a Win7 machine everything works fine on all the same versions.

I've used Faberdashery Arctic White with great success on my UM2.
-
Heh heh.
Thanks to some help from a couple of moderators, I've had a name change!
Cheers guys.

At home now and measuring 0.36Mbit download speed. It's really slow tonight and I'm drooling again over a satellite broadband system.

4mbit is luxury. I get just 1mbit at home and before I changed ISP I was only getting 500kbit (I'm 6.5km down copper wire from the exchange). I've considered getting a 20mbit satellite system but its soooo expensive.
On the plus side, I too have endless green fields and fenland to walk in
And I've just measured 75mbit here at work.

@Aaron:
I'm guessing you printed this on your UM1 and used the UM2 cos its a great photo booth, yes?
Would love to see a video of the printing next time you print.
