  1. Well that depends...similar metrics maybe needed to compare? Take for example two things featured on both sites. Currently as this is posted the downloads are as follows : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:362357 7122 downloads https://www.youmagine.com/designs/velociraptor-business-card 579 downloads. This gives a more realistic of around 10:1 (I know it's 12 but it's easier estimate being 10) The benefit of youmagine is simply there are higher quality items posted on a average. It hasn't reached the user level where people are constantly uploading anything they were able to scrap together in a free cad program. It would be nice if through votes items could be moderated or sorted based on quality. To keep any garbage piling up as does on thingiverse.
  2. Ah ok didn't see that previously. Thanks!
  3. I am on an iPad here (on vacation) maybe this is he issue?
  4. I don't know if it is due to the update . But I am unable to login. I can log into the normal site...
  5. Can anyone view? Doesn't seem to allow me to login.
  6. I post on both but I always make sure my photos try and include ultimaker. The print bed makes a good photo booth. This way they can see what made said product what designer is using what.
  7. Is it possible to get more categories or sub categories for the designs posted on youmagine? Such as: Outdoor, Automotive, Garden, Hobby, R/C, etc. There are many more possible options than which I have written above.
  8. The stuttering seems to be from how the stl is saved. It can have some errors and it prints a bad texture pattern in these areas it also slows the printing. Changing the stl options and tolerance has improved these issues for me. The under extrusion has occurred for me due to the filament slipping from it being crushed in the extruder area. I found on constant parts similar to the one you have made setting the retraction to zero has a positive effect. Basically the filament moving back and fourth too much works flat and then it has difficulty moving forward. Inspect the filament for wear areas or grooves. It is noticeable if this occurred. If so remove that peace start over set retraction below 2.5 mm. This has had positive effects in my prints. Hope it helps. Cheers
  9. Eldrick. You can program it to extrude a larger amount before it begins the print. (The ring around) I think the default is 150mm it can be increased. This can insure a full nozzle.
  10. Nico. It was happening to me too. But I think for different reasons I had a few things which were all causing the same issue. I have not had the issue in a while. I will post my solution other issue for you and or others below. When I had the issue I also reinstalled the firmware. But I doubt this had an effect. Including the last post about aborting the second part is below. Blobbing lack of extrusion The filament was crushed /worn down in the feeder which was getting slightly jammed in the tubing. Inspect filament for worn or flattened areas. 1. Remove damaged filament section 2. Make sure the extruder is not biting into the filament too hard or too lightly. 3. If that doesn't work reduce retraction length. The constant back and forward motion can flatten the filament. 4. Increasing temperature can fix the viscosity allowing for less force on the filament during extrusion. Maybe this helps someone with a similar issue.
  11. Well I am not sure if this will help. I have had similar issues after aborting prints then instantly starting a new print. I think when I abort the retraction is so long it does not fill the nozzle for the next print properly. And cannot push material out in time and the remaining plastic begins to blob and come out from gravity with the heat. Eventually the material catches up and it prints as usual but it has a negative effect on the first layer :( Going into advance setting and advancing the material until it moves out of the nozzle to ensure the nozzle is properly filled. Then go and print. Maybe this helps maybe it doesn't. Cheers,
  12. I think it maybe state to state since when I was in Texas I never had to pay duty or tax for shipments unless it was sent from Texas. In the last 3 years I have ordered a lot of tech and motorcycle parts out of Germany and never a bill or charge. Each package in excess of $4000 and was properly declared. This also could be something new... unfortunately I live in Norway now. It is expensive to have his shipped in :( +25% :(
