    Split large .stl

    This is what i found on the web:

     

    In Meshmixer, load your object and select Plane Cut as an edit.

    In the options panel on the right, there is a drop-down menu that says Cut, change it to Split.

    Press enter.

    Now the tricky part. Go to Select mode, and select some faces on one half of the split. In Modify, go to Expand to Group. This should select all the faces on one side of the split. Now go to Edit, and choose the Separate option. Press Enter.

    Now you should be able to move each half of the split separately.

    However, Netfabb Basic is probably the easiest way to do this for now.

    I don't remember what software but i believe that netfabb pro isn't the only one to do this

    [edit]I believe Cura is able to do this too?

    Or maybe not

    Dans le sujet sur le forum ils ont dit qu'ils avaient fait en sorte de ne pas impacter les livraisons a venir donc j'espère pour toi que tu ne seras pas post-poser. Je pense qu'ils ont eu du renfort au niveau de la construction des imprimantes, en tout cas ils cherchaient une personne récemment pour ce job je sais pas s'ils ont trouvé.

    Oui ca fait environ 2 semaines qu'ils ont changé les délais de livraisons sur le site.

    Je ne sais pas si vous lisez tous l'anglais mais ils ont eu un cambriolage ce weekend, 30 machines volées... d'après eux ils travaillent d'arrache pied pour ne pas pénaliser les délais de livraison.

    Donc soyez également attentif si vous voyez subitement des UM2 d'occasion (ils ont les numéros de série).

    Moi je patiente j'en ai encore pour minimum 6 semaines et j'ai déjà du mal ^^

    Wow 30 Units ... they must have had a big Van to put all of this in...

    I will check on the sales websites of Belgium, i hope you'll find them.

    I'm really sceptical of the ways the thieves will gain profit of these very specific items it's not like a TV or Playstation that you can easily sell on the streets...

    good morning Didier ! :smile:

    I orientated the model... like im holding it with the base down... because the outside and inside surface has a nice gradula curve and i printed at .1mm, there was no stringing or sagging.. just fantastic surfaces...

    really... get an ultimaker 2.. make good clean models and you cant ask for better.. the quality of my prints is just stunning...when you put the models in your hand.. they feel like professional injection molded parts... crazy good :)

    Pour environ 150€ de plus tu dirais que ca les vaut de pas attendre 6 a 8 semaines?

    J'ai ajouté une dans le panier ils me disent qu'elle serait la le 31 janvier ca me fait hésiter sachant que j'ai commandé la mienne chez Ultimaker le 10 Janvier

    Y a la garantie de 1 an qui n'est pas négligeable aussi

    D'apres ce que je lis sur le topic du même style en anglais les commandes sont souvent honorées dans le délais des 8 semaines donc patience patience :) moi j'ai plus que 7 minimum a attendre et j'ai hate :p

    I'm guessing that the lead time will decrease once you guys find the right person you seek in the jobs section :)

    By the way i was wondering how many UM2 are you producing and sending every week?

    I think that Ultimaker is a victim of it's success, a lot of patience is maybe the price to pay to have a great product?

    @3dImpress non a mon avis si je la reçois avant le mois d'avril j'aurais de la chance ca va faire long a attendre.

    Si ceux qui ne sont pas sur twitter veulent que je pose la question dites le moi il me faut probablement la référence de votre commande par contre

    Date de commande : le 10 Janvier 2014.

    Date de réception : le 15 Janvier 2014 (ou pas, en attente aussi)

     

    Ca fait plusieurs sujets que je lis sur le forum de gens qui se plaignent du délais et qui annulent leur commande ca fait un peu peur mais bon je pense que l'UM2 vaut le coup de patienter, par contre déjà après 5 petits jours je me réjouis a fond de l'avoir

    After taking some advice of someone working in supplies for human surgeries I now know that the process of creating some materials that should go inside an animal (or human) takes at least 8 to 10 years to complete... so i guess I'll have the time to find the correct way to do this.

    In the meanwhile i guess the offer in materials and printers should be different.

    Anyway i'm still planning to buy an UM2 for other purposes that are less time-consuming in procedures for external use on animal (prothesis) or instruments for surgeries.

    Thank you all for you answers this community is one of the reasons I feel confortable with my choice of Ultimaker
