  1. Thanx. Printed on my new UM2. 30mm/s, 0.06mm and 202° (EDIT: 65° bed temp.) Not that much support material. Printed it standing with the side for the lens to the plate. I have used "Brim" to be sure it will stay on the bed. With standing up, I added support in MeshMixer2, here are some shots: I don't like the smooth shade preview in MeshMixer, so here are two shots in FreeCad after converting it to a mesh: My first try was to print it horizontal, but there I needed very much support, so the inner surface turned out very ugly. With standing up the only bad surfaces is the inner shell side, that points down and the "clip". Finished it a little bit with cutting pliers and a knife. Filed it at the faces with support..
  2. Upper half of my camera body for a SpyCam 808 on my Hubsan quadcopter. First revision, to check the dimensions and print quality. I'm happy that the camera fits on first try and the mount can snap into the body of the Hubsan chassis. Evolution of the part

    Achsen fetten?

danke mnis, habe den Support mal angeschrieben.

    Achsen fetten?

  5. Thanx. It was FedEx, not DHL.
  6. Received my Ultimaker2 today! o/ First test print looks good. I was a little bit worried, bec. FedEx handled the package very rude. :( Printed the test object (there is no robot on the SD Card :( ) and it looks good ... better than the sample . It seems there is no damage on the printer. And some still life of the UM2 on my desk.
  7. @Daid, thank you for your posting in the FreeCAD-Forum. My rendering is not finished, yet. :( Will test your path check ("SET") tomorrow.
  8. Hi Daid, my PC is busy right now (have to render a project). I'll reinstall FreeCAD a little bit later and check the "SET". Maybe you could take a look at the FreeCAD Forum, there is a reply by some developer of FreeCAD: http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6254&e=0#p50129
  9. Hi, after installing latest developer version of Freecad (0.14), cura crashes at start. Is this a problem in cura or in FreeCAD? I get following python error. C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.03>.\cura.bat Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.03\python\lib\runpy.py", line 162, in _ru n_module_as_main "__main__", fname, loader, pkg_name) File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.03\python\lib\runpy.py", line 72, in _run _code exec code in run_globals File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cura_14.03\Cura\cura.py", line 13, in <module> from Cura.util import profile File "Cura\util\profile.py", line 22, in <module> import numpy File "C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCAD 0.14\bin\numpy\__init__.py", line 168, in <module> from . import add_newdocs File "C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCAD 0.14\bin\numpy\add_newdocs.py", line 13,in <module> from numpy.lib import add_newdoc File "C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCAD 0.14\bin\numpy\lib\__init__.py", line 8,in <module> from .type_check import * File "C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCAD 0.14\bin\numpy\lib\type_check.py", line 11, in <module> import numpy.core.numeric as _nx File "C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCAD 0.14\bin\numpy\core\__init__.py", line 6, in <module> from . import multiarray ImportError: DLL load failed: Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden. After uninstalling FreeCAD, cura is working again. I have reported the problem in the freeCAD forum, too. (waiting for moderation) http://www.freecadweb.org/ EDIT: The thread in the FreeCAD forum: http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6254 --- Win7 64bit Ultimaker 2
  10. The bending issue is one point he is targeting. IMHO If the only result would be a standard connector size, than the initiative was worth it. Nice article about the project by Gigaom: http://gigaom.com/2014/03/17/is-it-time-for-a-standard-3d-printer-spool-size/
  11. Hi, there is a nice project by "RichRap" (Richard H) to find a standard for filament spools. "One spool to rule them all..." I think it's worth to support his initiative. His Blog-post: http://richrap.blogspot.de/2014/03/universal-3d-printing-filament-spool.html You can find him on twitter: @RichRap3D I saw, that Ultimaker is following him already. I hope they stay in contact and Ultimaker will join his vision. Some makers here have printed own spools. Could you add your experiences and ideas about a standard for spools in his thread in the RepRap forum? http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?262,324209 I'll send him a link to this thread here, for the case, that you don't want to join some other forum. What do you think about his initiative?
  12. gr5, thank you for the link. Not that much information about the materials IMPLA and HIPLA on the page. Do you have some experience with this filament? How long is (high) impact resistence PLA in the market? Never heard about it before. Are there some downsides with this kind of PLA? I would like to find a european source for such HIPLA / IMPLA or similar material.
  13. @Xeno, yep, AFAIK it should have the same temp characteristics as other PLA. The printing temperature is the same as for other PLA. I'm searching for a material to print parts for my quadrocopter. There the temp shouldn't be that big problem. Normal PLA is to weak and I want to use the printer on my desk. And there I don't want to use ABS. OT: I'm searching for some dedusting solution (better word?) to use with the UM2 to print ABS in my office.
  14. Hi, what do you think about the announcement and the kickstarter campaign by Polymakr? I have nothing to do with them, but I have backed the kickstarter campaign for their filament. I have searched this forum, but can't find anything about them (or PolyMax). It sounds to good, to be true. PLA stronger than ABS, but without the downsides of ABS. Do you think this is believable?
  15. Thank you for the nice welcome. I'm planning to print some parts for a quadrocopter, and an archaeological reconstruction of an old peruvian temple.
  16. Hello makers, I'm waiting for my UM2 to have as much fun as you have in the world of 3d printing. My background is 3d graphics (since 1994) and some mechanical engineering. I have done some 3d prints at i.materialize and shapeways, and want to jump into desktop 3D printing. I'm following this forum for some weeks and it seems to be a nice place. Happy printing Conz
