  1. I'm not sure if they generated an STL or just directly generated the G-code for the test prints, but they didn't use a slicer for sure as there is non available...


    After a quick read of the article my interpretation would be that there is no real practical/mechanical reason to implement Schwartz P or D into Cura as they do not outperform the already implemented Gyroid infill.

    They do look cool though 🙂

Assuming theres still a bit of filament left over the print head when the bowden is removed. so you have something to pull on.

    to be clear; take out the horseshoe clip (the blue thingy) then push down on the white thingy while pulling out the bowden tube.... Works the same on the feeder side  of the tube...

    This seems counter productive to me, as the lines will also be printed 0.48 apart from each other. I would just keep 0.4 but increase flow % and temp a bit.


    If you increase flow, and need working threads, you may need some  negative "horizontal expansion" (in CURA's  shell settings) to compensate

    it was always just below 300 euro i think. Probably the effect of the pound not doing to well.....

  5. Thoiugh I'm not sure Ultimaker is still officially suppling loose parts of the feeder (they should IMHO...) they did in the past, see below for the partnumber of your small gear, Just try to order at your reseller and mention the ultimaker partnumber (bottom right on the label)






  6. All parts used to be for sale separatly, but I also noticed the "spare parts book" only shows the full assembly. 


    As you can see here I bought my first feeder completely from parts....



    Here's the partnumbers of the arm, I would say just try to order it from your reseller...

    Sounds to me you're just looking for an excuse to upgrade to the duet 😛 , you know your wife will learn how to use it in just a few minutes as it's super easy, specially with the "print to duet" plugin in cura....  Also, you'll have the same workflow as on the other machine..  The duet is just the better option imho..

  8. looking in the drawing of the Ultimaker3 (same feeder) the item number is 1279.

    normally you can order any part at an ultimaker  reseller, but I'm not sure in this case as the spare parts books of UM2+ and UM3 only mention the complete feeder assembly, but ask your reseller anyway, they can probably order it.


    Otherwise it seems like a part you could possibly find in a good hardware store...

  9. And another thing, when using settings like the line width in the name, it would also need to update (or manually be updatable) when a change is made. This would be good to have anyhow as f.e. when you change printer model after you loaded a file, the naming will not update.

  10. Yes , the UM3 will run the CC core, though not officially supported. This is because the feeders are not hardened, and will wear when you use a lot of filled, abrasive, materials.  You can upgrade the UM3 with 2 bondtech feeders, but unless you already have an UM3 this is a bit silly as it would bring you up to the price range of an S3 (which has the hardened  feeder)
