  1. Making fillament is not that easy... but have a look here; https://preciousplastic.com
  2. This is not in line with earlier statements from @SandervG. Maybe he can clarify?
  3. Yeah. Let's save the rain forest. Brilliant argument I added a like..... but I think I'll stay out this endless discussion. Great tip though !!
  4. Are you talking about the view function in CURA now? as only there you have the limitation of the JPG encoder? So it does (or can do) 1600*1200 in the direct video stream in the browser? Is there any reason not to use the video stream, iso the low fps jpg's in CURA?
  5. If you go the manual route, just heat, insert "the wedge" into the feeder, and pull out the filament The disadvantage of manual loading is I usually push the material to far in, so I end up with to much material being primed, and the UM3 priming position is really low to the bed, so you end up with a mess and a dirty nozzle....
  6. Assuming your STL's are ok; - Right mouse click - Select all - Merge Models
  7. Cool!! we must make a UM2 mount.... I really like the core...
  8. @SandervGJust tried again, still does not work, just a picture directly from the phone, like 2 Mb. Left it uploading for 10min, but will not upload... Could you tell me what OSX you run and what browser? Thanks! Win7 + chrome
  9. So cooling could be optimized for the left/right nozzle? I guess someone already tested if this makes any sense? Something else. Would it be possible to directly connect to the core's pt100 and heater (from an UM2 board without damaging the eprom?
  10. @SandervGJust tried again, still does not work, just a picture directly from the phone, like 2 Mb. Left it uploading for 10min, but will not upload... @Daid, issue is on the print section, not the forum topic gallery (no idea how that's connected at the back..)
  11. the whole point is..... a products retail price is not based on components + uplift..... ok, last example... take a Logitech mouse... couple of bucks in materials... some sell for 95 ....
  12. What software did you use to capture the stream ?
  13. another issue; while trying (a few times) to upload in the print section, i can only add 1 photo (in one post), the others never finalize upload... is this a bug? is there a max file size limit?
  14. Same here, but my line of thinking is I want to have spare part's anyhow, so just as well split them and keep a set of low temp and high temp core's.
  15. Bit funny how people look at printers so different as to other products I don't really understand why people think a products price is made up only by it's parts? Have you any idea what the components price of a high-end phone is compared to it's retail price? Do you write letters to Apple/Samsung why you can't get there products for the components price? Don't think so ......

  17. You can not. the construction of the print core makes it pretty hard to do without damaging the print core and getting it assembled right, also it does not use E3D-style nozzles like the Olsson block, but a longer nozzle with finer threads that go all the way trough the block and ends in a stainless heatbreak. Ok, you can not now, and it's not very easy, but it's doable if you're very carefull. ATM there are no 3th party nozzles afaik but my guess is given time there will be. I would also be surprised if no 3th party would step in to offer a refurb service, seems doable to me at 120,- euro (incl tax).
  18. https://www.youmagine.com/designs/drybox-for-pva-ultimaker3 my solution, put it in a box, even when you are printing.... prevention is always better than correction And remember a dual print easily is 15 hours... so your PVA wil not last long outside a box...
  19. maybe "stand by mode" would be better wording, as you will never be able to completely shut down power, but at least bring it in lowest possible power consumption mode...
  20. Think that indeed accounts for most, but I can still only get to 196 mm in X on the UM3. I guess we need an option to tell it we only want to use the left / right extruder to be able to use the full plate with a single extrusion print.
  21. @nicolinux would be a nice feature for the app also...
  22. It's indeed an error in Cura 2.3 It's not only for custom printers, I tried the 2+ and the 3, you can also not use the full bed for these. I reported the issue already (I'm in the "3" beta test group) so I'm pretty sure it's being addressed.
  23. About the PVA; Ultimaker PVA 350gr : 48,34 (incl. tax) - tried it, it works Makerpoint home brand PVA 500gr : 39,95 - bought it, will try when I finished the UM Innofil Innosolve PVA 500gr : 72,95 - won't try it, too expensive. E3D scaffold 500gr : 45,- GBP : need to try that sometime, heard good things about it.
