  1. The 6 mm xy. Just take them out and roll them on a flat surface like a stone kitchen top. For mounting/unmounting have a look in the manual from the um2 upgrade kit. Download in the manual section on this site.
  2. Did you check if your xy axis are straight? if not I would advice to check this.... the new xy axis in the upgrade kit solved it for me...
  3. Does not look that way..... but maybe it's a setting I'm not aware of ....
  4. In my experience the issue happens more with pure pla, had it myself with faberdashery, never had it with the softer colorfabb. What also helps is to buy fresh filament, if you buy in a store check the production date on the packaging, if there is non I don't buy it, maybe with an exception of high turnover colors... I did rejuvenate the faberdashery; https://ultimaker.com/en/community/18137-rejuvenating-filament
  5. can you show the 0.8 nozzle you used? I noticed there are huge differences on the "shoulder" size of especially the 0.8 nozzles. Just my gut feeling but I think a larger shoulder (thickness of the edge around the hole of the nozzle) can make a difference.
  6. Spend some time this weekend at the Radboud University Hospital to help a team in the "Hacking Health Nijmegen" event. The team was focusing on improving orthopedic shoes, I supported making a 'prototype of a prototype' by scanning a guy's foot... The whole thing is in the idea phase but we did win one of the prizes, being support hours from a professional in the field, so a pretty nice outcome for the guy who took this initiative. If you have any expertise in orthopedic shoe design I can bring you into contact with him....
  7. Spoke to a guy who owned a leapfrog recently..... used the undercariage of the machine to make a table the only thing it was good for ....
  8. I'm running a e3dv6 on an UM2, here's some more info on my settings, I upgraded to a 40W heater to get more stable results. https://ultimaker.com/en/community/17737-temperature-fluctuations-um2
  9. is there a list somewhere with changes? bugs fixed?
  10. To give you an idea on the resistance I just put a super cheap multi meter on the part: The results for the 3 lines; line 35mm x 2mm x 0,27mm : 12.7 K line 35mm x 2mm x 0,68mm : 4.2 K line 35mm x 2mm x 1,40mm : 2.3 K
  11. I tried it, only once, I still have something left from the sample so if you need to know anything specific ? https://ultimaker.com/en/community/16562-protopasta-conductive-pla?page=last
  12. Just playing around... in the true sense of filling every niche, like in automotive..... the UM2GOextended.... who knows, I may attempt building one someday
  13. If you want to check it's pretty easy to take out the xy rods, and roll them on a flat surface to check.... If you need instructions you can use the upgrade kid manual; https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/19641-installing-the-extrusion-upgrade-kit
  14. Spaceclaim can deal with (some..) STL and all rsdoc, so it can be used to f.e output a .step from a rsdoc. but a legal copy is pretty expensive. The best free option that outputs many formats a.o. step is Fusion360 (free for makers and small business i believe). http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/learn-training-tutorials
  15. No. My best guess it's a e3d big box.
  16. If you just Google "github ultimaker" all the files are there. The assembly step files, the bom, the dxf for each pannel. I posted all links in another thread some were yesterday.... If you have trouble downloading use the zip button on the github page to download all files...
  17. one could also say you thought of it a bit late just kidding... the whole makerbot story is just so sad.. I guess soon all that's left of them is a patent troll ...
  18. since yesterday, got a few times an error on posting a reply, where every time only the 2th attempt resulted in actually posting...
  19. here's some more... I also once saw a video of a bed moving on a conveyor between multiple printers, but can't find it anymore... https://ultimaker.com/en/blog/65-start-your-own-mini-factory-with-autoprints http://3dprintingindustry.com/2013/10/30/open-source-automated-build-platform-turns-3d-printer-3d-factory/ and the patent; http://www.google.com/patents/US8668859 and some other interesting stuff; http://ultimakerxxl2014.weblog.tudelft.nl/ http://ultimakerxxl2015.weblog.tudelft.nl/?TUD-USE-COOKIES=yes https://www.shapeways.com/blog/archives/862-a-conveyor-belt-of-continuous-3d-printing.html
  20. I have no experience with light pipes..... but did you see this ? https://ultimaker.com/en/community/21062-amazing-transparency-results-using-colorfabb-ht
  21. I'm a fan of Colorfabb also, but specially there PLA's .. Easy is relative... yes the nGen is nice, I like it for small statues and stuff, but for bigger practical parts it's not so easy as it shrinks a lot more than PLA (I think more like ABS) so for bigger parts that can be an issue (if I have to deal with it anyhow I just use ABS) Also XT, I just stopped using it, had to much issues with layer bonding and the parts getting brittle. If I need a part to withstand a higher temperature I just use ABS. Speaking of higher temperature, the more interesting material is Biofilla PLA-tec (http://www.two-bears.eu/)
