  1. Don't scale the display. If you set the display to 100% instead of 200%, Cura will work just fine.
  2. 2.7 crashes on exit every time on MacOS 10.12.6, while 2.6.2 did not have an issue.
  3. Sketchup generally does a miserable job of exporting .stl files. For 3D printing, you would be better advised to choose another graphic program, IMHO. For this particular job, tinkercad.com would be a good choice.
  4. That is called a "z-scar". It happens when the start/end of each layer happens aligned in the same place. Experimenting with the Retraction settings can reduce it a bit. You can address it by aligning it with a part of the model where it won't show, or by selecting Random for the start/end placement.
  5. Well, that improves the loading time, but Cura 2.6 is still an unusually slow program to launch.
  6. On my Mac w/ Sierra, attempts to Save Project more than once result in a very annoying and uninformative dialog box about having to save the project with the suffix "curaproject.3mf", and which results in misnamed filenames like mything.curaproject.3mf.curaproject.3mf or mything.curaproject.3mf.curaproject.3mf.curaproject.3mf no matter what button you choose in the dialog.
  7. The "cubic" options offered in Cura 2 creates tetrahedrons with long straight paths, for omnidirectional strength with fast print speed.
  8. I have no idea - I assumed it was for complex GREP search/replace operations, but I didn't use it.
  9. Is it possible to speed 2.6 loading time? On my iMac it takes 30-40 seconds to launch, most of which is apparently spent "Loading Machines". Is it possible to speed the loading time by removing the 99% of machine definitions that I will never, ever, need?
  10. I'd guess that the Cubic infills are stronger than hexagonal, and are fully three-dimensional, so equally strong in all directions.
  11. I could not get the Extruder Selection plugin to work in Cura 15.04 or 2.6. However, I did discover a Post-Processing Search/Replace plugin in Cura 2.6, which does what I needed.
  12. Perhaps you could use the Post-Processing Search/Replace function in Cura 2.6?
  13. I find a Search/Replace post-processing plugin in Cura 2.6. Replacing T0 with T1 appears to work.
  14. I've wondered, but not experimented with, the notion of mixing acetone and water, and putting an ABS piece in the liquid to see if it smooths it. Seems like it might work...
  15. I'm on Sierra 10.12.1, have upgraded each time Apple ships a new level of maintenance, and I have never had a problem with any level of Cura running. In the past week I've been using Cura 15.04, 2.6 Beta, and 2.5 with no issues, on a MacBook Pro and an iMac.
  16. You need to define your printer as using RepRap-type gcode, i.e. in the Printer Settings panel, select Gcode Flavor = Marlin/Sprinter or other non-Ultimaker type That will expose extruder and bed temperature settings in Cura.
  17. I recently had issues with over-extrusion using ABS. My UM2 settings give ABS a 107% multiplier for ABS, but that was much too much on my new Type A Series 1 Pro. On the S1, even a 103% multiplier caused winkling and bumps in the prints. I'm guessing that this might be a difference between the UM2 remote-extruder with Bowden, and the S1, with 3" direct to the hotend.
  18. Set the extruder temp to zero? ...later... No, that would just set the temp to zero when the print starts. Edit the gcode and remove the temp settings.
  19. I have a UM2 in good working order for sale with all the good mods: Bondtech extruder, E3D hot-end, various high-quality tweaks. Includes lots of spares - nozzles, hotends, Bowden tube, buildplate, etc. Also includes a ton of partially-used filament of many different flavors - I haven't counted, but probably around 25 spools. Asking $1800. I am in Portland, OR, and I'd prefer not to ship it all, but will if necessary. PayPal preferred. Make offer - if it doesn't sell through the Forum, I'll eBay it. Please leave questions here, or rwzehr (at) gmail (dot) com
  20. Use a Dremel and cut off the part of the stupid clips that overhangs the glass. Honestly, the clips are far and away the worst-designed feature of the Ultimaker printers. Since you have gravity to hold the plate down, there is no reason at all to have to the clips pressing down, and no other 3D printer that I am aware of wastes build-space to save a few pennies on bed-holding hardware.
  21. Carbon-fiber/nylon also exists, and is said to be easier to print than nylon, due to low temperature coefficient of expansion.
  22. I opened an issue and got this incorporated into Cura, presumably in a 2.6.1 Beta, or some such.
  23. I tried pasting the resources for a Type A Machines printer into Cura 2.5, and it is not recognized.
