  1. Great tread here folks, wish I had time to read it all! Just on another idea, why not just adapt something already made, so we don´t reinvent the wheel, like Anjin said above on the welders? I for one have done that, I took this all-metal extruder from China and made some parts to fit the um2, to give it the right tension, etc, and it´s working like a charm now! The fact of the feeder being all metal is really a plus, and it´s not expensive at all, and you get the increased functionality of having an easy material changing mechanism (just pull the lever up and take the filament out). If someone interested, I can take pictures and upload on youmagine, etc... Cheers!
  2. Hey, thanks a lot, I was putting some force into it, glad I read this before doing something stupid!
  3. Thanks a lot, I had a knot of NinjaFlex filament in the feeder, this was just perfect! :-P
  4. I´m pretty satisfied with the printer, but Ultimaker support, on the other hand, is not doing so well... My order still hasn´t been completed after a month (3 spools missing) that I received the printer, and support is taking a long time (4 days by now) to even answer an e-mail or PM from the forum... I expected more.
  5. Alright fellas, now I'm all love! After the painful wait, and the customs nightmare, I got my printer today, and now I'm finishing my 1st print! I love the crazy scientist lab noise that the printer makes when its doing its thingy, lol! It's really a great piece of equipment, worth waiting for, no doubt about that! Cheers all 3d printing madmen! :ugeek:
  6. Well, now ending the 9th week, and no go on the printer yet. Even though it arrived in Georgia, FedEx here sucks and they keep asking me for different documents each day for customs clearance, without giving me a precise date for delivery. Even though I paid for DHL, and sent an e-mail to support prior to shipping that I'd rather have DHL than FedEx (because I knew their lousy service history here), this message was never answered, and now I'm here having a big headache to get my hands on my printer. Please support, pay closer attention to answering the messages and customers complaints, so others don't go thru the same awkward situation as me... :/
  7. Thats awesome, have fun!
  8. I ordered mine on january 31st, got the shipment e-mail yesterday. So that makes 8 weeks til dispatch, I was told 8-10 weeks when I ordered, so fair enough...
  9. Id recommend Maya. The polygon modeling toolkit is kind of intuitive, and it isnt hard to export models in *.stl format that work fine with Cura.
