Yeah noticed it too yesterday

@Dieselpower, definitely not bad at all! The machine looks fragile but is surprisingly rugged, I think the shipping of these things is a pretty traumatic experience.
Yeah those shipping guys throwing boxes around... I have a rattling fan due to shipping I think
-
Not to bad for a out-of-the-box print I guess
-
Well I've got some ideas for a UM2 probe now
-
Really thinking about upgrading to these after reading this topic. Anyone considered running these in dual setup on a UM2?
-
I have a similar setup as a tool setter on a CNC machine, with a microswitch, so why not?
Or a touch probe like on a Datron CNC machine, that swivels down. Is there an extra IO on a UM2 Board?
Only problem is.. I'm a mechanical man, wouldn't have the slightest idea how to implement it in the firmware
-
a PEEK upgrade could be an option, although friction would be higher.

If you send me your tracking + ordernumber in a DM I can check if everything is as it should be
Well I received it as scheduled, but seems a bit uneconomical to me. It went back to the distribution point in Roden (NL) after it's trip to france.
Only one of my printhead fans is somewhat damaged, it kind of works, but rattles and screams.
Already made a support ticket (ANI-387-75934), but seems I can't log in anymore. When I try to log in my email address doesn't exist, but when I want to re-register the email address is already in use. :???:

If they are working in the computer / tech industry, one may assume its 100%.
Well some recent examples made me downgrade that figure a bit.... :-|

Ther're some improvement options in this topic

This one made by Robert seems to work well

This a price comparison list (from a dutch tech website) with a lot of web shops you could check out.
http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/320116/raspberry-pi-model-b-(512mb).html
edit; for example this one: http://www.kiwi-electronics.nl/raspberry-pi%C2%A0
And remember that 90% of the dutch also speak english, especially those working in the computer/technology related business.

My ultimaker went on a trip to France it seems :???:
According to tracking Fedex ships a package that's domestic Holland via France... No wonder shipping keeps getting expensive
-
Anyone who knows the current lead time for a UM2? Or is it still at mercy of the mysterious UM shipping department?
Edit; Nevermind.. Just got a shipment notification
coincidence? :-P
-
And if they really want the domain after all, they can buy it from you :-P
-
..And then my NAS freaked out and reset itself to factory defaults, including format to empty default folders..
..And of course no recent backup of the last 3-4 weeks
I thought a Raid 1 NAS would give some prevention of data loss

How about a Wi-Fi/Ethernet add-on, so you can monitor everything while your gone (status, temps, etc.)? Maybe (web)cam connection.
(yes I know.... a competitor already has this)
-
Already have another IP camera running without any problems.
Once I've got my UM2, I can look into remote control options
-
I'm planning to run an IP camera so I can check things when I'm at work.
-
Better they sent you a new front panel, machine doesn't get better once you start fumbling around.
I know........ waiting sucks
-
Luckily I don't have that problem

Found an interesting project from someone in Norway while searching magnetic couplers for ROV;

Well the problems with those brushless motors isn't in the windings, they are coated and they could withstand some abuse. It's the ball bearings I'm worried about, especially when used in saltwater. And I don't think the motor housing would be that resistant to corrosion.
But then again, they're just $10-15 motors.
-
Motors just running in the water?? :???: Maybe magnetic coupling instead?
I've got a CNC mill too, but no programming experience. Just arduino's gathering dust.. :-P
-
Never looked into that option at time of ordering, considering they (UM) are Dutch too. It seems most other shops don't have one on stock anyway.

Printed the parts for Roberts Feeder upgrade today;
Some rough spots, and what seems to look like a little ghosting around some holes.
