  1. Hab ich soeben gemacht, ohne Erfolg. Der Fehler bleibt.
  14. Hi there, i wanna post my experiences with high res printing of small objects in PLA here, perhaps it could be usefull: First, i change the printer filament settings: 190° Temperature turn OFF the buildplate heating Then use blue tape for the buildplate and wipe it with Isoproyl-Alcohol (the prints stuck very well on this stuff). Don't forget to level the buildplate again!!! Then reduce the faces of your model, if neccessary (Meshlab -> Filter -< Simplification -> Quadric Simplification) maybe a couple of times. (Its a little bit of an intuitive process to find the best count of faces) Then build default supports with meshmixer, sometimes you have to add manual supports by leftklick if a support looks very long and/or unstable. Repair your model with netfabb, if necessary. Then import 2 of the models in cura. (If you don't want 2 models, you can also create a cylinder with ~7mm diameter and a height of model-height + 0.5 mm.) Important is, that the printerhead has to move to the 2nd model and the layers have the time to cool down. Cura settings: Thinkness 0.1mm infill 10% Speed 40mm Suppot: everywhere, lines, infill 60% Layer time: 15 Fans: 100% as soon as possible With this setting i could get 2 very beautiful prints [35mm high] (till now at a layer of 0.1mm, less ist planned, but not executed now) The model ist pretty fine and the supports can be removed relative easily.
  15. Whats this? Do you have a photo? I totally don't know that you mean
  16. Hi there, that sounds exactly like mine. (Also squeaking). That is those black plastic part on the right back side of the printer, in which the filament ist placed, when its is transported to the feeder. When the filament goes backwards and forewards on the plastic, that makes those squeaking sound. Try to put the spool as near as possible to the printer, than the squeaking should stop, or u can build your own spoolholder like this from User gr5:
  17. Yes you're right, there is a a piece of flat on the stepper. but twice a day, it becomes lose. For the next couple of days, i'll bend a small imbuss, to reach the screw in the assembled feeder. The glue is a solution, i've already tought about. I was thinking about acetone dissoluble superglue. (You can put the stepper upside down in a shotglass for half an hour, then you can lose it. BE AWARE, that the stepper itself stay dry!!!) but i think the woodglue is the better alternative. I'm quite careful about changing a 2.000 Bucks device, cause of making things worse. In another point of view, i have little bit the opinion, that these kinds of children' diseage should be obliterated on such a "expensive bestseller device", but even the transport mechanism is the error source no. one of the most printers. (totally inapprehensible in my opinion, if you look at such mass of very good community solutions for the different printer systems) but in this case, i can't print a new screw or stepper... .
  18. Hello there, ist there a official replacemant for the Ultimaker 2 feeder? In my case, i have to to tighten the screw on the feeder stepper every day. (mostly after a broken print...:-( ), Yesterday it was a 5 Hours print, after 4 1/2 the scres was detached) and that is: 1. Remove the cover in the left UM² corner. 2. hold the stepper with one hand, release the feeder front 3. tighten the screw 4. put stepper and feeder together again and put the filament pipe also in the feeder (without a 2nd person a pain in the a..) 5. put back the cover All of this is neccessary, because of a little plastic ring on the feeder top, which prohibit, that the shipped imbuss can reach the screw. Not very sophisticated (just my 2 cents) I know, there ist the replacement from IRobertI, but i don't wan't to disassembly the original one, to use the parts. With this "bug" the ultimaker² is not very useful for me, because i cannot print long time prints, because of dissolving of the screw. Nevertheless it would be the best to get another stepper top part, which stay tighten... . Regards Mitgard
  19. So, after a couple of prints, i could solve one of my two big problems: I tried to print a tank from thingiverse, i want to print it upstanding, to minimize supports. Link: http://www.thingiverse.com/download:550198 The first picture shows (red circle) what i ment with "blotted". after adding a 2nd "dummy print part", i could fix this (shown at the tank witout circle) my next problem is, you can see it on the scond pic, that all surfaces, which has contact with the supports are VERY "unclean". Is there a way to make these parts as beatiful as the rest of the miniature? I printed at 0.1 mm Layerthickness, with 40 mm Speed, 190 °C filament temperature; Supports: line, 0° and 30% fillness If the pics are too big, i can resize them, but i want to show you the details. Regards Midgard PS: Theres another problem: Even if i add 0 ° Supports, not all overhanging parts arte supported (Support everywhere is enabled) so that some parts of the miniature are unclean. is there a way to add even more supports? PS2: the printer is squeaking like hell, it is those plasic part on the back right side, which guide the filament to the feeder. Is that normal?
  20. Hi there, after the great help from this forum, i'll be able to print a couple of things. I want to print small filligrane things. When i print them, the really filligrane parts are very blotted. It looks like the nozzle puts out to much material, or the filament couldn't cure. Some overhangs are also very blotted. I try to set the fans on, and gave more time to the layers, with abstemious success. It is a little bit better, but not good. I want to print in 0.1 or less. Has somebody experience with this, or has a good tutorial for printing in high res? Did anyone have experience with supports? I know, "no supports" are better, but nevertheless, i need them for my models and also tried something with these preferences there, but even in res lesser than 0.1 the supoorts gets very blotted and librify more on the print than stabelize it. Oh, i use the 2.75mm PLA Filament shipped with. It seems, that this is more elastic than the filament the other printer (1,75 mm PLA) Tomorrow i'll set pictures from the prints, perhaps it can explain better, wher my problem is. Regards Midgard
  21. GOT YOU On your gallery pics, i see a custom transport. (those golden print in the upper right) that looks much more comportable. Is it open source?, and: where can i get it?. That is exactly the kind of customization i think of. I could print it with black PLA 100% infil, so that should be stable enough i think. Regards Midgard
  22. Many thanks, i'll try it ... after work. So, if those mechanism is bad, are there any posibilities to replace it? I don't know, if it is well seen in this forum, but i also have a replicator2 and it was a real odyssey, to get the machine extruding. It takes many weeks an a mass of bucks to get it work. It could print my own extruder mechanism, but for optimal work i need a special compression spring, which was not available in whole europe... Finally i bought one from Texas... That costs 46 Bucks (6 $ the spring, rest shippment  ) and takes around 6 Weeks (5 days from Texas to germany, and 5 weeks in the german custom duties... . That was also a reason to get a second printer (especially from europe) because it has understandable and european standardized measures and parts. Hopefully the odyssey won't start again :-| Regards Midgard
  23. Yesterday i got my Ultimaker 2. So far, so good. I start the first prints and the first one was fine. But then, the extrudion stops a couple of time. After removing the material, those little wheel (those against the ball-bearing, with the little rills on it) in the filament transporter FELL OFF. So i looked at it, and try to put it on again. But the plastic of the filament transportation prohibit, that i could fix those little screw on the stepper motor. So, than i thought, to remove the upper case of the transport mechanism was a good idea. And now the problem starts: after removal, the stepper got out of place and in case of those cover in the front, i cannot get to the stepper to fixate it. 1. It ist a very bad decision that the cover of the filament transportation also holds the transport stepper. 2. the shipped keys don't fit really good into the screws. 3: Why those coser in the left backend corner? I cannot get to the stepper now... . and the most important thing: What can i do, to fix the stepper???? I don't want to remove screws on my own, perhaps the hole printer will fall apart  Please help, i'm totally stucked here. Regards Midgard
  24. Well, first thanks for the lots of help. I'll try the RCs now. Using the nightlies, I'm to excited for gettting and using the new ultimaker. (I'm a software developer indeed on the java side of life, but running a nightly build is always a task of developing for me, so if i find something and have access to the code, i want to fix it) . Perhaps later, when i'm getting more familiar with the printer, Phyton an C. But now: getting the printer and making first steps with the ultimaker 2. Regards Midgard
  25. Yes, sure. I take this one from thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:313371 Then i repaired it via Netfabb (it has several holes an degenerated triangles) but now, it should be fine. I have those behaviour also at other models. BTW: I'm using the 14.03 of Cura.
