Thanks all for the responses. I thought the issue would be that the fan is coming on, I had overlooked the obvious, but now that I think about it it may have been quieter when I first got it. That is a better outcome because it means that once fixed the machine will be quieter all round - will investigate getting a new one. Thanks again. Greg

My Extruder fan is always on -as long as the switch on the back is on. This makes it the machine quite noisy to the extent that I switch off the main switch between prints. Anyone else find this? I would expect that if this were normal lots of people would be commenting on it. I only found 1 related thread for the UM original and it's a year old; this seems to suggest that this is not normal. Could anyone else please share their experience on this? Thanks, Greg
