I used the method mentioned in this thread. How much time should it actually take to install the recovery image? I started installation one and half hour ago and it still hasn't shown any green light around the control knob and no notification on the screen to reboot.

hey There, well i can remember it  took like around 10 minutes to flash the U3...wanst too complicated. if i where you, i'll give one more try.

    best,

  2. hey jimdeasy, did you tried to right click on the link and click on "Save As"?. Before saving just Change the file extension from .html to .Img

maybe in this manner it will work.

    cheers

  3. Hello! i keep receiving this message on my U3 that th difference of the cores height s blah blah blah. i did manual levelling like one million times and the autoleveling keep failing, nozzles are clean, glad plate is clean and without any debris... maybe is the sensor that is damaged?

if yes how to change it?

    best

  4. Hello Forum, im printing the same file in both printers (u2, and u3) basically is an extruded HEXAGONAL grid. each cell has an 2 mm perimeter. the problem I'm having is that in the U2, the hex cells looks really like hexagon, the corners are really sharp. but the same file on the U3 the cornes are somewhat rounded... liking more like circles than hexagons.... both printers at 40mm/s. do i need to tweak the erg values on the U3/?

    many thanks in advance...

    E

  5. This is only happening when WiFi printing?

Is cura running&monitoring the printer when this happens?

Does the menu on the printer still respond?

If the menu responds, what happens if you try to tune the temperature?

Can you send me the log files after this happened? Instructions:

    • Wait for the problem to happen

    • Restart the printer

    • Insert an USB drive

    • Goto the maintenance->diagonstics menu, select "dump logs to USB"

    • It will create a file on the USB drive, send me a copy

hey Daid: im using Cura 2.4 and the Firmware is the last stable version

    - 1) until now it only happened while WIFI printing.

    - 2) Yes, cura was Monitoring the Printer

    - 3) the Printer doesnt respond, ist frozen.

    - 4) since the Printer is frozen, any reading is impossible.

    - 5) im going to send the logs, i have to wait for the Problem to happen again, it is random.

  6. thanks, now it works better, but theres no other support material that can be dissolved in water?

i mean after all, is not so easy to print with PVA, and what i hate most is that i need to clean the nozzle so often! because it doesn't sticks properly, the nozzle catches the PVA that wasn't attached properly to the layer, and it stays there in the outside of the nozzle and it turns dark and sticky.

  7. If you are already keeping your PVA spool safe (in a ziplock and silica bags), I don't think it's a problem related to that specific spool.

In my experience, PVA doesn't stick very well to PLA. The solution I found in my case was to lower the PVA print speed and set the extrusion to 125%. This means longer printers and using a little bit more PVA, but in my case it helped a lot. Of course, it depends on the model you're trying to print, as some geometries are more difficult to print.

What print speed and temp are you using with PVA? Ultimaker standard profiles?

yes im using standard profiles for PVA, that means in numbers : speed 60 and temperature 225 C,

    which ones are you using?

  8. at the beginning the combination PLA/PVA worked like a charm, now im having adhesion problems (PVA printing on top of a PLA layer). is it related to hardware problems or is just the PVA filament is affected somehow by humidity (i store my PVA spool on a ziplock bag and TONS of Silica bags)

  9. hello Forum.

in the past (U2), it was a good idea to have a nozzle set for each the of material (PLA, ABS, and so on), because to the different material characteristics... now in the U3, we need to do the same? does anybody knows if printing normal PLA and Bronzefill with the same core will lead to problems, (i.e. clogs)

    best.

  10. You can link directly into the video stream, also from your phone;

    yourIP:8080/?action=stream

There will be a phone app for control, but for now in closed beta.

For both options you need to be on your local network, so find out how to setup a VPN, took me only a few minutes, but how easy it is is depending on your router.

    i got lost with this...

  11. finally int arrived u3 :)and im soo happy...very awesome features... i have a few questions...

theres a way to make the camera work faster?---> it is kinda slow.... i thought i can make speed runs with it... and there will be a way to control the printer remotely, i.e my mobile phone? up to now i only found that i can see what the camera sees trough Cura.... but, my printing is standing 30 Cm away from my computer... so its like... redundant... :)

theres a way to adapt the u3 build plate to an 2+?

any way of changing retractions speed and length  while printing wirelessly from cura?

  12. hallo forum.

i've readed the ability of the new U3 of detecting the kind of filament that is loaded (only spools from the brand Ultimaker). do you think that in a near future other materials from other companies can also be detected by the u3? because here in Germany waiting from 3 to 4 weeks to get spools from ultimaker... thats a long time when you take in count that theres filament companies that are sending their orders in two days time. waiting 4 weeks or 6 for a printer to arrive is smth different... but filament?
