  1. Looks cool, perhaps this can be developed into a coating for the actual um parts from um3+ onwards!
  2. It is working here. It points to: https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/23003-how-to-print-and-store-pva
  3. Haha most definitely! But as Nallath said, most parts are actually used in all kinds of prototypes, extreme tests, torture test etc. That's the beauty of UMs, you can easily disassemble them and use almost every part again! pssssst @UMemployee's, let me know when I need to check the dumpster and I'll hop in the train
  4. Though I'm interested in seeing the the UM3 in action, the time (and now my student OV is no longer valid also costs) investment makes it a little less practical to stop by. Budget doesn't allow an UM3 any time soon anyway, and most features are self explanatory if you are not looking into getting one. I would be interested to see if the build plate(lighter and more stiff) can be fitted to an UMO with HBK, as that one wobbles quite a lot. Also the fans are a continuously interesting development(moaaar air, moaar cool, faaaaaster and prettier prints!). Perhaps another time!
  5. Nice project, smooth timelapses, awesome result! @SandervG something to feature?
  6. To me it sounds like the home position in your case is with the nozzle pressed against the bed, blocking the nozzle. Stopping the print and removing the bed from the nozzle allowed filament to flow through right? Or did I misunderstand?
  7. This was my motivation I could also make something and look total bad (ass): http://9gag.com/gag/arORVDB
  8. I guess it also makes sense right. The required pathing for the head switching could hit previously printed objects, or wiping towers etc.
  9. I believe it is. Just read the tag out yourself and use the format. Otherwise ask @nallath or @daid.
  10. They get pretty hot, and when they get to hot, they miss a step. So yeah the fan is needed. Depending on how it sounds it would payoff to peel the sticker off and put a drop of sewing oil in. That solves quite some rattling sounds, but the fan sound itself will stay. Optionally you can try to find another fan with the same cooling potential and mod it somehow.
  11. As long as you don't try to take apart the cores there is little you can do to break them And you can get a lot of hours out of one core, so it's not like you need one every X times.
  12. I think he is referring to the picture he uploaded in his profile: https://ultimaker.com/photo/image/0x0/58188733a5b3c/IMG_2235.JPG Though the forums are a place to get support, perhaps contacting UM support themselves might be a better way to go
  13. The best option is to choose the last option: "I don't want to share" or something like that. Least amount of trouble, but still I agree, too much popups. Heck, sometimes I download different Cura's a few times a week.
  14. Are you using UM materials? Then perhaps the material might be auto selected due to the NFC chip reading .
  15. If you need some one to have a look at those goodies, uhm, achievements perks and titles, let me know.
  16. @LePaul, right up your alley too!
  17. @SandervG, something else I was meaning to ask. How do you guys like the entire gamification part, with points and levels and titles? Gotten anymore feedback on that apart from the beginning? Is this it, any thoughts where you want to take it? The reason I'm asking is because I personally still think the points and level and title can be removed, as I mentioned in early feedback. However I'm curious what you guys think now that we are living a year later or so. Reflecting on your choices and ideas might spark new ideas or other insights. Short summary on my thoughts from back then, and now still: -The title can be really confusing for people, what if people start asking @LePaul about Mechanic Marvels, while he might rather be a total badass designer. -The points are there to indicate how 'trustworthy' someones reply is I guess. Posts could give the same indication(excluding bots) I'd say. -And the levels are there to encourage people to post more(spam) or be more helpful (thanked), but other than a number there is no incentive. Being who we are as part of community members I'd say we don't need that.
  18. yeah though I must say I prefer print contests to design contests. I'm just not that good in the latter But perhaps the boot is just larger than expected. Regardless, I'm extremely curious what other people will make too!
  19. Well just making sure you read the topic So you could either help with exchanging data with @si2w like which filaments you have/want int or something. Or perhaps make a statement if UM somehow thinks things should be done differently regarding their data. And to correct me from making false statements, I thought Cura 2.3 also had profiles for UMaterials(see what I did there?) for other UMachines(on a roll here!). I thought wrong!
  20. @frederiekpascal I'm only making a point on that it is worth including(unlike nameless random china brand filament sold by 123inkt.nl for example), not on the pricing. If you are willing to pay for certainty, like many companies are, then buying the UM filament from UM with the NFC in the UM3 is a great option. Like I said, it also renders the inclusion in filaments.directory rather redundant.
  21. I know it is not a reinstall issue, but I wasnt sure if just cleaning the folder would work.
  22. @SandervG I am not sure how this is gonna go, but Ultimaker kinda has done this, for their own filaments and machines in Cura. Adding UM filament to your directory would be nice, but also redundant as it is already in Cura But if you add the filaments, then I could kinda break the contest and win stuff, by adding all the settings embedded in Cura for UM filament(that's a ton, for different filaments and printers). Ok from the rules you need to supply your own picture. So no free lottery tickets for me(I added a colorfabb print I did for fun). But yeah. UM filament had a bad name with the first few spools (light blue and silver I remember), but since that was fixed it is great stuff, giving me good results. Now with all the new types they have a lot of variety to add to the list. What happens to the pictures if I might ask? I cant seem to find them on the site.
  23. Try to Uninstall, clean out your Cura appdata folder etc and reinstall. Seems similar to @LePaul s issue
  24. If you want to go geeky go openSCAD It's strange at first, but for small mechanical parts it's great fun.
