  1. The latest version is a BETA so you can expect a few bugs. the last stable version is 15.04 there will be a new stable version coming out shortly.
  2. Yeah this silver prints really bad and is gritty as mentioned above
  3. I just got a bad roll of UM silver. 2days old and Broke in 2 different places in the bowden and snapped off in the feeder. As I was trying to get it out it kept breaking more.
  4. Ulticoffee for makers mmmm sweetened with magnalube
  5. UM3 would be cool. Maybe some upgrade kits for UM2 and UM3 release at CES in January? Other manufactures have come out with laser engravers, 3D scanners and paste extruders. So wonder if UM will go down that path.
  6. Well although that sounds good. someone else mows my lawns I was hoping you would come up with something a bit more exciting. Something like a auto bar tender. that will mix your drinks and add ice. maybe able to draw a 3d item with the liquids that will hover in you class, instead of just having the usual layered look [media-thumb=5148][/media-thumb]
  7. If I buy 12 do I get one free? And if we are the first to pre-order do we get a set of ginsu knives?
  8. That's a let down, how can we mow little putting greens then?
  9. So can you adjust the grass height in cura?
  10. Everyone just likes you to much to not let you know about it.
  11. Yep they sure do. Cura 15.10 will have more features in this regard where you can adjust line widths etc.
  12. So it is coming up to 1 year since the UM0+ was released at NYC maker faire and its about 2 years since the UM2 come into the scene. So will this years Maker Faire see something new?? Or was the extended and 2go released to keep us off there trail for a bit longer? Its only a couple of weeks to find out but now is a good time to create some rumors of what we think might happen
  13. you can also increase the nozzle thickness. It will print wider then the nozzle size as it just over extrudes it a bit. This is fine and many people do this to print phone cases.
  14. It should have a nice internal nozzle shape like the picture in THIS guide.
  15. Those dots that you talk about are they the yellow ones in the picture above? These are infill layers, in cura 15.04 the infill is put down before the outer layers. increase your bottom layer thickness to 0.3 as this will help solve all those travels on the first layer.
  16. looks like it is stretching as you pull try and let it cool down a bit more then pull. what temp are you pulling at? i pull at 70deg for pla
  17. I think the retraction default is 4.5mm Yes on closed body's the retraction can be off with no issues. I guess vertical lift is the same as Z-hop in cura. I find this not the best solution. It does work but you can still get blobs or fat lines where the z hop first ends and starts. Most models only call for a few retractions per minute so it wouldn't be to bad. only when you have models where its retracting every few seconds for a long time. in this case you would be want to print quite cold to help eliminate defects. I just pulled my printer apart to try the 1.75mm conversion and the PTFE coupler and I2K was just like new with many hours of printing at 260deg.
  18. Criminals will always take advantage of new technology which is sad. But at least our kidneys will be safe when they start printing them
  19. Video does help show some things that cant be written and helps us understand visually how things work. I hope the write-up has some good photos to complement it.
  20. I have used Roberts spool holder on my UM2 since my first under extrusion episode, and i have designed my own low friction spool holder to fit my UM2go ( fits UM2 and extended as well) Yes they don't stop tangles but if you manage your roll properly you shouldn't get tangles. I always check it when i remove it and clip the filament in place, then check it again when i install a new one. I have never had a tangle yet.
  21. 1.75mm filament will actually apply more force in the nozzle as the area is smaller so this helps stop under extrusion. But yes its not as stiff so feeds in a lot better. I'm liking it so far.
  22. When I first started I thought that leveling had to be perfect every time. I quickly realized that it doesn't matter that much. The smaller the item you are printing the less important it is. I agree with Gr5, I don't touch the bed level for months and don't bother changing between nozzles. It shouldn't scratch the glass unless its a big difference as the pressure of the plastic pushing out should help push the glass down enough and not scratch. I did it once by accident and there are no scratches but cant guarantee yours wont scratch. When using the 0.25mm nozzle you normally wouldn't print a large item, just something small. So as an example if the bed is out 0.1 from back to front then over the tiny print surface in the middle it might only be out 0.01 I have the first layer at 0.05mm for that nozzle so that's plenty of room to flatten out. On larger nozzles, yes they will normally be on bigger prints that would cover more area and could be out the whole 0.1mm, but your first layer will also be thicker so it still doesn't matter that much as long as it has enough squish to make it stick.
