  1. I have printed XT at 220deg but you start to get layer adhesion problems. also make sure the bowden tube is firm in the connectors at each end so there is no movement. and using fans with XT is fine
  2. Yes the design sucks but it wasnt designed by NASA. It was designed by a guy from Made In Space. the company that built the 3d printer that NASA uses.
  3. Some websites state 3mm filament but its actually 2.85mm, you just need to ask or read the fine print to find out. The one you are looking at has potential problems as it could end up being 3.05mm. which might work but not ideal. I would stick to the correct size and use brands like the ones Didier Klein mentioned.
  4. I have been trying out the new Quick Print profiles and they are greatly improved with no problems so far.
  5. Oh, just noticed you are using a different printer. So settings may differ but principle is the same.
  6. When the head travels from one parts to another, the nozzle oozes slightly. This can happen even with retraction turned on. to fix it you can put the parts closer together, speed up travel speed to 250mm/s (make sure rods are lubed with light oil), lowering nozzle temp, or adjusting the retraction settings. I would print 2 of these parts and adjust 1 setting at a time and see the effect so you learn what changes they make. Play in the Bowden tube can effect retraction so make sure it doesn't have any movement in the connections.
  7. There maybe something causing your flow problem. I have emptied a roll of bronzefill with no issues. printing at 100% flow and a lot of prints at 30mm/s and 190deg. or were you wanting to print slower than that?
  8. Will we be able to hack our UM2's to cater for this or will this just be for new machines?
  9. Sometimes if I have a few small parts I use brim and space them out so the brim makes a big flat base connecting from one part to the other.
  10. Reminds me of the intro to Ace Ventura Pet Detective.
  11. There is also this one: http://www.3ders.org/articles/20150106-3d-systems-unveils-new-cocojet-chocolate-3d-printer-at-ces-2015.html
  12. That's good. I just checked out the press kit which has more photos but it wasn't displayed.
  13. Is the reusable packaging for the UM2go just cardboard. or something a bit more substantial?
  14. Yeah the OWl is impressive. but fricken ugly. and not something I can look forward to buying in the near future. I do like the Voxel8 and found it very interesting. but i mean the whole show hasn't come out with anything overly exciting enough to make your balls tingle.
  15. Is it just me or does CES seem rather boring this year? Only exciting news came from Ultimaker.
  16. No I havent, I dont have the need for a wrench but thought it would be cool to print theres off and it use as a show piece of what My 3d printer can do. We seeing im a engineer and most of my friends are 2, its not all that impressive and has a few flaws. I emailed NASA but no reply yet.
  17. Also what is the glass temp?
  18. Depends what you will be printing. I have a UM2 and have never required extra height. So it could be a waist of money getting the extended. But other people want that extra height to print taller items. It all come down to what you will use it for.
  19. I printed the one from NASA. its a crap design.
  20. even if they make a heated bed upgrade kit it will end up close to the price of a standard UM2. especially with there shipping costs.
  21. I read it wrong the first time and thought it came with a heated bed. Thanks for pointing it out. It's a bit of a buzz kill and would have expected it to be a little less expensive because of it.
