The radii just depends on the cutter size you use. Not sure what's on the drawings though. The um2 must have used a router and I have cut 6mm polycarbonate with 1.5mm radii
-
You could get them CNC Routered.
-
By the way I read it, they still have a few problems they are working on, and it seems like they are wanting it to work with PLA. This may take longer than they expected for them.
I would assume that they could still show us some dual color prints though. Unless the quality is really bad.
-
don't know if has been mentioned before but multiple device logins (at the same time) would be nice.
-
Yeah I get the weight thing but I'm printing something to go on the wall and it's just for the looks. Weight is not a factor.
I wasn't just thinking of thinking just for bronzefill. I find woodfill lacking in strength. So the strength could come from the inner and just have a woodfill skin.

very cool. but does this mean we now also need a spinner?
I wonder how well it works with XT.

Here is my small improvement to Roberts Feeder.
https://www.youmagine.com/designs/um2-iroberti-s-feeder-v6-yoke-and-hub-with-guide
Based on the V6 feeder I have added a filament guide directly on the Yoke to reduce occurrence of the bearing sliding in front of the filament. I had that issue a lot with V4 and started having it again on long prints.
 LOL I can believe you designed the same thing as me, I just didnt think anyone else would require it as i was trying to get filaflex to work. I made the same thing a back in august to go along with Roberts snap on guide with tighter clearance posted here: http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/6829-printing-filaflex/?p=63705

Hi
I'm not to familiar with dual extruder and how it operates in cura, as i'm waiting for the kit to come out for UM2.
But i was thinking today as i was printing with bronzefill, if there will be a way with dual extruders to be able to print the outer layers with bronzefill and the rest with PLA to save on cost? Is the feature there to be able to do this?

Yes and I used 100% fan at 1mm.
Also zip hop 0.08 to help reduce vibrations. Retraction at max speed and acceleration is 1500.
-
No, I checked the colorfabb website and there was no mention of increasing the flow so I just left it on 100%.

Layer Height: 0.1
Shell Thickness: 1.6
Speed: 30mm/s
Temp: 190
Bed: 50

No just one, I didn't want to waste the filament
I use Venkel's fan mount https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-2-fan-mount-dual--2
it actually printed out some of the areas of the robot better than PLA.

Well I finally decided to grab some bronzefill and give it a go. My normal thing is to print the ultimaker robot with the new material till I find out what settings and how well it prints.
Well first go and it turned out pretty good.
Now I just need to polish it up and see how he shines.

People have printed higher quality and there is a topic here, http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/3038-can-your-ultimakerultimaker2-print-such-quality/?p=22274
What acceptable for some isn't for others and how much time you have waiting for prints.
The robot is hard as it is small but there are heaps of overhangs. You normally try a design things with the least amount of overhangs. So you can get heaps better results depending on the design.
People seem to prefer this one. https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker-2-fan-mount-dual--2
There is a stl for single extruder, I have just printed one to try. Some people highly recommend it but others say it's not needed.
-
Interesting as I get better results with the light blue than the translucent blue.

Hey, Welcome to the Ultimaker Community
Print 2 at a time side by side. this allows proper cooling. The right hand fan is further away than the left so it doesn't cool on that side as much. You can print other fan shrouds to help with this, there is a good one on youmagine by Venkel
Layer Height - 0.1 ( if this is to thin then overhangs can turn out ugly.)
wall thickness - 1.2 ( so the infill doesn't effect the outer finish)
infill 20% ( normal )
speed 30mm/s ( Print slow will make sure it gets enough cooling and gives better quality )
Temp 190deg ( Low temps help improve overhangs )
bed temp 50deg
That should give you a pretty good robot that you can further tweak if needed.

As I mentioned in my previous post there are issues with 14.09
Daid is working on them and there is a pre release here,

I like the "..." buttons. its currently printing well on my MacOS

We also want to give more recognition to those community members who actively contribute to Ultimaker and its community.
I guess you don't have to make this a public thing. You could just send out an email to those people thanking them for there valuable input into the community.

If you are still having under extrusion problems with Roberts feeder then maybe something else is wrong.
with the right settings you shouldn't have any problems and none bad enough to warrant having 2 motors
-
Small thin items like this can be hard to print.
I haven't printed the item as im printing something else at the moment but in Cura i can see travel that could cause these blobs. under layer view these are visible as the blue lines. There are issues with z height movement that can cause blobs. Cura 14.09 does have movement issues and there is a 14.10 release here you can try.
http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/7727-1409-creates-insane-amounts-of-travel/?p=72155
Also a post on a similar issue you are having. note the final post.
http://umforum.ultimaker.com/index.php?/topic/7754-skipping-corners-on-spiralize/?p=72378
As you can see shiremog achieved better results and if thats satisfactory you could try that.

350deg would be a huge improvement for me to be able to use high temp filaments but it will still have to be able to print with PLA.
Definatly need more info.

Not to sure on what could be a visual indicator. Could be little icons like a little robot for a top maker, hand for a good advisor etc. Or it could be just a label like mine just says member. It could say top advisor. (Not that I am)
I only use selected sections of the forum so not sure of the full content shared here but I would think, advisor's, makers, hackers (for mods to um printers), designers (linked by youmagine), programmers and you could have a top socialite (for people here chatting away every day)
I think selecting the correct answer with a jump to answer in a topic would be great.
