We just bought a new Fiesta and I thought it would be fun to print a model. So here it is :-) Sliced with Simplify3D. I like the result, the model actually shines like gold :-)
  3. Suddenly i felt a strong desire to print a Ford Fiesta :-)
  4. oh s...!! he should wear a full face helmet when testing things like that. Well the house seems very thin, so I guess he could expect that result. No I will not use it in an engine :-) just as key hanger.
  5. It was so easy to print with. Sanding and polish. I think the result is very nice.
  6. To all who is having problems with melted fan mounts. Maybe you should try to use alu tape. It reflects the heat. http://m.ebay.com/itm/151359066809
  7. Yes :-) Took a sheet of alufoil, half A4, folded multible times, cut a hole, and then wrap around the heater.
  8. Thanks for your answers. I will try V14.12 to night and post the result.
  9. This is my first vase attempt with Cura, and I am not happy  When printing, the extruder stops for a very short time, every round of the vase, this leaves a small dot. It leaves a spiralize path of dots on the print. Is this a Cura 14.09 bug?? Trying to print this model (it is solid and should be OK) http://www.thingiverse.com/download:114887 Se the problem here: Why oh why?
  10. You print to fast. slow down to 20mm/s and add 25% fan speed.
  11. Thansk for your answers. Ok, so the Z-scars on my model is normal? Do yours also do this? Please note that this is "only" a problem when printing above 0.1mm layers. Below that, the scars is very small and barely noticeable.
  12. I can see while printing, when the UM2 makes the dot. http://germann.dk/webbilleder/dotpoint.jpg Maybe the dots cant be avoided?? Are all here experience dots as in the links above?
  13. Or Tinkercad.com I use it all the time and it is just SO very easy!
  14. For 3D scanning just use this program: http://skanect.occipital.com/%C2%A0 And a cheap xbox 360 kinect sensor (I did buy mine uset for almost nothing). I have scanned my kid, and printed here out. Is it amazing! 3D scanning is for everyone!
  15. PM_dude thanks for your answer. When I print the model there are no retraction. The dots come every time a layer is finish, where it join the inner perimeter with the outer perimeter. I have now tried adjusting temp, flow, speed, and still the same result. Very visible dots when printing 0.2mm layers  This is simply NOT what I was expecting from my brand new ultimaker2 :???: Pictures after filament change. http://germann.dk/webbilleder/dots1.jpg http://germann.dk/webbilleder/dots2.jpg
  16. I have now tried to change filament to a non ultimaker filament and also changed the diameter to 2.90 (measured on the filament), and played with the temperatures, it don't change anything.... same problem with dots. BUT when I now print in 0.2mm after filament change, I see the dots again, but as small holes. Before when printing with the ultimaker PLA the dots were popping out, as too much material. I think it's time to play with the flow rate.
  17. I have now printed the same model in 0.15mm layers, it is much better, but I still see the dots. They are smaller now but still visible. In 0.1, and if I look really close, I also see the dots. Even in 0.08mm I see micro dots. It seems like the problem always is there, but with smaller layers you get smaller dots. Yes I am using Cura V14.09
  18. Hi I´m new to UM2 but not 3D printing. I have been printing in 0.08mm and 0.1mm layers without any problems. Last night I was printing in 0.2mm and got some nasty dots and some stripes. The printing conditions: -Ultimaker PLA -Filament 2.85mm -Speed 25mm/s -Hotend 200deg -No infill -Wall 0.8mm http://germann.dk/webbilleder/um1.jpg http://germann.dk/webbilleder/um2.jpg Any ideas? hope you have :-)
  19. Ok, thanks for your answers and ideas. I can defiantly use the cylinder idea. BUT I for sure miss that parameter!
  20. Hi. When I print the ultimaker robot, and it is printing the antennas, it print two layers on each antenna before it proceed. I want it to print one layer and then proceed to the next antenna, where i prints one layer and the back again to the first antenna. Two layers in a row on the small antennas will cause melting and I would like to avoid that  Is there a parameter for adjusting this? Thanks. Jan.
  21. Ok, Thanks gr5. I think I will use the SD card in the future, or at least until Ultimaker comes with another solution. I have tried the Doodle3D, but I don't want to disable ultigcode, print quality is my priority. Thanks again.
