Yeah I also remember saw something like this. Most time recycled do not have the full characters of original material. Maybe PLA is better on this. PET definitely recyclable but it takes effort to purify it.
You can buy esun petg on Amazon. PETG is very similar to Colorfabb XT. You can just use your settings of Colorfabb XT straight and it will print out well. Cost is close to ABS.
PETG can be printed between 230 and 250 C. Higher temperature leads to better gloss. Slower printing would have better result. But PETG is very strong and bond well, different to PET and PET+.
