Could it have been the filament? White PLA is usually weird stuff.
I don't think so. I'm using big spools of 2200grams of standard white from Colorfabb all the time. All the spools are produced in 2016, so no old stuff.

Hello people,
We, at Sevenedge, made a HTC VIVE game that needs some greenlight votes to be able to release our game in the Steam store.
The link is www.driftwatchvr.com and we also created a trailer of the game.
This is the trailer :
So if you a have Steam account? Throw us a positive vote please.
These are the current stats of our game, but we could use some more votes
Thanks in advance folks!

I would not buy an UM2+ anymore because there will be a release of a new machine within a few months maximum. You can quote me on this
I'll correct myself. I would not buy an UM2+ anymore, especially when you are someone who wants the latest of the latest products released.
Can't wait for the network capabilities they will introduce! How about dual extrusion, probably not sure about this one.
I've already reserved a nice spot on my desk for this new machine, can't wait!

Did you change nozzle while the hotend was cold? You have to heat up the block when changing nozzles or leftover plastic will prevent the nozzle from screwing all the way in properly.
I took this UM2E+ printer two weeks ago and not done any handson job till now.
Was it a brand new one you bought?
-
Did you give a new nozzle a try? Maybe it's completely clogged...
-
That's an amazing quality of toplayer, thumbs up!
A lot of work to get it done though

So the new TFM alone solved this for you? To be honest the TFM isn't what I would suspect in this case. The amount of extrusion looks fine. In fact, it looks like too much plastic is coming out which could indicate that the bed is too close to the nozzle. The bed also looks quite dirty. So my advice would've been a good cleaning of the glass and a re-level.
Oh, and do you have a pic of the old TFM? Would be interesting to see what it looks like.
Hello,
The bed leveling was ok, I did some tests before posting the first photo.
The might look dirty but it isn't dirty, there's only too much glue on the glass. Since I started using clue, I never had any problems with layer adhesion anymore...
Anyway, these are a few pictures of the old TFM vs a brand new one.
This is how my first layers look like now :
UM2+ ext is back up & running in full shape!

Maybe, just maybe, the tfm it's starting to die...
But to replace it
https://ultimaker.com/en/resources/22188-how-to-replace-the-tfm-coupler
To do the step 2 (final one) you need a plastic to adjust with precision the x4 long screws. That part only comes with the maintenance kit, but I would ask @sandervg if your ultimaker reseller can sell you just that.
I've changed the TFM coupler this morning and that was a good idea from you

what are your other settings? (temp, retraction, layer height, ...)

not bad for your first woodfill print, good job
You can try the 0.4 mm nozzle too. The overall quality of your print will be higher.
I use these settings :
nozzle : 0,4mm
speed : 50 mm/s
layer : 0.2 mm (I know they recommend 0.27 but 0.2 seems to work fine for me)
retraction speed: 40 mm/s and distance 5.5 mm
Good luck

Ik heb hetzelfde "probleem". Mijn woodfill prints tot 12 uren lukken, daarna loopt hij bijna altijd vast. Weird :s
-
Don't think twice, the plus is the way to go.
I had the UM2 with the upgrades mentioned by @meduza (not the TFM coupler though, that didn't exist then) but the reliability of the UM2+ is so much better.

You have a + edition with an Olsson block I guess? Do you have a spare nozzle to see if your current one is clogged?

so it's just this web site on phone right?
In the end, yes imo....
-
I'm back! :)Was there anything still needed?
Nope, ordered the parts from Trideus. The molding part is only 2 euros and the TFM is 12,5 euro.

I had a very similar first layer recently when I tried printing with some old ABS, ( 2 years old ). Abandoned the print and switched back to PLA - all fine.
I only use PLA
The PLA on the picture is white Colorfabb, max 6 months old.
-
Trideus doesn't sell the TFM coupler separately... @SanderVG heeeelp?
-
I'll start with another new nozzle first, i'll keep you posted @neotko
-
+/- 1500 print hours with this machine

A picture says more than 1000 words, so here it is :
I noticed my extrusion is not the fine line as it used to be. Does anybody know what's the reason for this?
I'm using an UM2+ ext.
cheers

Add the functionality so we can control our UM2+ with the app, that would make the app really useful. As for now I don't see why I should use it instead of my macbook...
-
Great initiative!
I've added 3 songs...
Music is quite important for me so I could easily 100s of songs that mean a lot to me. But I've added these 3 ones as a start.

And that's why I thought it would be out by now
is there a big 3D printing even still happening this year, where they might launch the new model ?
It's getting really silly with all these company secrets (But I do know why), but all it does is frustrate users :(
IMO just wait a few months before buying
