  1. First, thank you for your replies. I will look into new firmware and pulleys. Regarding the temperature. I havent tought about it before and while looking at my printer just now I do notice that it moves a fair bit between 209-211. Swinging between. Can this be the issue? It might. I had some quality issues on the umo+ until fixed the pid. On 2 machines was always spot on but the third did need PID adjustment. Changing the temp changes (on some pla brands) the color/gloss/etc. Do you know of a guide how to do the PID adjustment?

  3. Hi, I've had my UMO+ for almost a year and its barely been used since it got a bunch of problems. Problem 1: Print quality I get a lot of ugly lines in my prints. More in some and less in others but almost a bit in everything i print. The only things that print fine is really small things. 2x2cm. Anything bigger show these lines. I've tried changing the settings a bit but I cant find any setting that changes this. I've also tried different PLA's. White, silver and black Ultimaker PLA, Colorfabb och some other PLA. Don't see much change there either. I also tried to clean the printer and regularly lubricate with sewing machine oil. Problem 2: Clicking noise My x-axis have started to click a lot. I know other people have had this problem and its been the belts riding on the pulleys. I printed the alignment tool from Thingiverse and I have aligned my pulleys several times. It usually removes the sound for a while, but after an hour or so its back. Problem 3: Rattling noise My printer also makes a rattling noise that I don't think is normal. Its mainly the y-axis but a bit in the x-axis as well. Does anyone have any ideas? The print quality is really bad and makes the printer not very useful. I really want it to work. :( Thank you,
  4. I'm using Ultimaker silver PLA. I have noticed now that the sound seems to appear when the printer starts a new layer and at the same time moves the head a long way. So Z movement + long X and Y movement. Maybe sounds weird, but the printer can do all those movements without the sound but it seems that the sound appears when they are all at the same time. I did try lifting the extruder assembly off the printer and that did reduce the over all noise of the printer a lot, but the "tatatatata" is still there.
  5. Yes, its the "tatatata" that I'm worried about. I cant really single out a specific time when it does it. Its always in the same place in one print, but the printer can make similar movements without the sound. I didn't know about combing, maybe I should try turning it off? I posted another thread recently showing my weird prints, can this be related to the sound?
  6. Hi, I'm nervous about this weird noise my printer makes. I can't figure out why. It's not on all models I print when when it does make it, it is always in the same place during the print. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waHJYiZNMkk Its at 00:06 and 00:25 in the video. Anyone know why? :(
  7. When you say the short belts, you are talking about the really short ones going on the motors, right? I did tighten down the motors pretty hard, but I will try it again. Also, what do you mean about the squareness of the head? Can I read about this somewhere? Thank you!
  8. Hi, I got my Ultimaker Original + about 1 week ago. The printer prints amazing and it has really brought back the joy of 3D printing for me. I did have some small problem along the way but I managed to figure most of them out. Except this one. As you can see on these pictures the infill does not go all the way to the wall at one end of the print. On the other end its fine. Affected end: Other end: How it looks in Cura: I have tried everything I can think of. Different speeds and layer height, temperatures, re leveled the bed, different filament. All look the same. For the most part the prints turn out fine, but this can show in the top layer too, and that obliviously affect the strength of the part. Any ideas? Thanks, -Fredrik
