  1. I've had a UM2 for several months, and I have been very successful in my past troubleshooting adventures. With a lot of research and trial and error I learned how to get excellent prints from the standard materials and I even finally got decent results with Delrin (from Gizmo Dorks). Then, about a month ago, the machine started having a problem. It prints well for the first five layers or so (less than ten minutes), then material stops coming out. It happens across the appropriate temperature range for all nine of the materials I have successfully used before. It lays down the first few layers, then extrusion slows down progressively, eventually depositing material intermittently, then the head just continues to follow the path without producing any material. I have tried nozzles in three materials (brass, carbon steel, and stainless steel) and four sizes, I have tried tinkering with the speed, temperature, and material flow settings, and nothing makes any difference. I turn the temperature up to max and set material flow to 950% and still nothing comes out. And the motorized feed gear on the back is not turning and chewing up an unmoving filament. If I change materials, the old filament just has the expected toothmarks, not an excavated furrow from a frustrated feed gear. Any ideas? Please let me know if I can provide any more information that might help. Thanks very much.
  2. Thanks, Robert. I went to the tune menu and found that the bed was warming up, but very slowly. About one degree increase in five minutes. So I put a pile of towels on the bed and turned down the bed target temperature. It finally reached the new (lower) setting and started printing. So, the bed heater appears to be working, but it seems to be underpowered. Is there more than one heater under the bed?
  3. My Ultimaker 2 just arrived yesterday, and I'm doing some test prints. It is taking an extremely long time to warm up. Right now I started it on a print and it has been warming up for 90 minutes. It is in a warm room in the house. Am I doing something wrong?
