Raptor Reloaded hand (printed at 100%)
  2. Finished my test hand yesterday, overall I am quite pleased with the result (the 3D printing part at least, my elastics and flexsors are not as "tight" as they need to be):
  3. Has anyone tried this yet? Looks promising, but unfortunately not available for Windows at the moment... http://printr.com/katana
  4. Layer height was 0.2mm, so I believe it was the speed thing (needed this a bit urgently, so I used something like 30-40mm/s, do not remember exactly). Guess that's way too fast, especially for 0.2mm layers.
  5. It turned out much better than I expected retraction-wise, but for some reason I got a bit of underextrusion on the first half of the print (somehow it corrected itself on the way up, without me changing anything):
  6. ...and this one's for my 5-year old, who will be playing a police officer (no idea what a police officer is doing in a Christmas show):
  7. Yes, I created everything in the same model, and used a boolean to "subtract" the stars from the ring, so that it left perfectly-shaped holes. I added some glue, though, because they would never stand a chance staying upright on a 3-year old's head
  8. A simple crown I made for my 3-year old's school show (he needed a "Little Star" uniform):
  9. Hey all. About a week ago I started getting really bad results with my prints: the top surface is always ugly (not flat and with some gaps) and in many cases the outer wall is not touching the infill. Take a look: After reviewing 3Dverkstan's troubleshooting guide (plus a lot of posts here), I tried playing with bed levelling, material flow and/or speed, I checked my short belts (they are quite tight) but nothing worked. I've been using a 0.4 nozzle, printing 0.8 walls, bottom/top thickness is 1mm, infill is 20% and infill ovelap is 20 (let me know if any more settings are relevant for this type of issue and I'll post them here). Any help would be appreciated, because I didn't recall changing anything on my configuration and it really is driving me crazy! Thanks in advance, guys and gals.
  10. I was wondering, could anyone help me add an online-quotation service on my webpage? I'd just like a simple (and, most of all, free) widget thing, where you upload your STL file and after some calculations (basically a simple cm3 x price/cm3), the user can receive the cost to print their item. Is there a place where I could find the code for this? Thanks in advance.
  11. I tried the freezer thing, @Dim3nsioneer, but it didn't work. Fortunately, I contacted Ultimaker and they were kind enough to send me a free replacement tube!
  12. @Nicolai Did you try the spiralize feature after all?
  13. Thanks @tommyph1208, I figured as much about speed and temperature (I was thinking of printing at around 190-200C and 30mm/s with Colorfabb PLA), but I think retraction is always the thorn in my side. Any recommendations about retraction settings (both in Cura and on the UM2)?
  14. Could you please give me some input on the best settings to use for printing this?http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:561661 I had printed a similar pattern (Voronoi) for a bracelet, but I was a bit disappointed by the result (excessive stringing and some blobs): So I would love your guys' input on this headphones stand before I begin. Thanks in advance.
  15. Can't praise this initiative enough (just joined as a volunteer myself, will immediately begin my test print). Congratulations to everyone involved!
  16. @gr5 You are a genius, dude! I printed it flat, put it in some hot water, quickly wrapped it around a thin bottle and in a few seconds I had a gorgeous bracelet! Genius, I tell ya! Thank you so much!
  17. Using Robert's feeder works perfectly for changing filaments mid-print. Just press Pause on the UM2, pull the filament from the back, insert the new one and resume printing. Simple as that! Of course, you have to visually judge yourself when you should press pause (not as exact as using Z)...

  19. Second time's the charm. Turns out I had an issue with my rear fan not running at all. Fixed that, plus printed at a slower speed, and the results were much much better (although I still had a lot of retractions to clean afterwards):
  20. Fixed: after reading some of the comments in the community, I figured out that my rear fan was not running at all! I guess when I installed the Olsson block, some wires on the back were pressing the fan and didn't allow it to spin. After I gave it some room, everything was working smoothly once again.
