  1. Some feedback: With a simple 3.8MB mesh It was stuck at "preparing to slice.." using the default "high quality" setting with skin rotation and fuzzy skin added. So the one job it has "slicing" doesn't work. I'm really missing * after loading a first object, to zoom the view to fit it into the screen (I often have objects scaled in 1=1m or 1=1" that are terribly, terribly tiny when loaded in a 1=1mm scale. Tiny enough that I can't select them with the mouse without being able to draw a box to select objects.) * quickly rotate in 90° steps or by entering a rotation angle (I often have very large meshes where interactive, graphical controls are terrible due to reaction times in the magnitude of multiple minutes) * turn off slicing until I'm done positoning and scaling (don't waste even more CPU cycles when I'm still waiting for a rotate operation to be performed) I just loaded an object, rotated it and now the scale setting shows: [X] uniform scaling scale X: 100% scale Y: 70.7% scale Z: 195.% how is that even possible? I didn't scale anything and I certainly never touched the uniform-scaling checkbox to end up with such values. (Sorry, this forum software doesn't allow me to attach a screenshot to this posting without hosting it somewhere else first.)
  2. Okay, found this. https://ultimaker.com/en/community/17068-making-your-own-ultimaker-what-not-to-buy-on-china-stores-personal-experience?page=2#reply-140223 * issues with the quality of the nozzle drilling * fan-duct touching the Olsson block * the PTFE reaching down into the nozzle * cracked plastic on extruder * cheap linear bearings "They drop a black dust and are noisy as hell." * noisy 5V fans * thermocoupler cable too short, can't be fully inserted * spring is not strong enough * M3 bolt doesn't go into the Olsson block because the hole isn't drilled cleanly * cabling to the fans was reversed (he fried a transistor when replacing the fan with a better one)
  3. What exactly are the issues with these? What is different? I'm regularly using chinese PTFE liners for my UM2extended (no + yet) because I need them fairly regularly and UM only ships with Business 2 Business couriers. They simply don't work out for my adress and it's easier to pick up a chinese parcel from the next post office then to try and get a B2B curier to deliver on a weekend or after work hours.
  4. where IS the search function in this forum? In all standard forum software packages that's a prominent link in the forum-list but on https://ultimaker.com/en/community I can't find any search functionality. Instead there is a link "safe filter" that I don't understand since I didn't define any "filter" and there isn't anything to filter in a list of forums anyway as opposed to a list of threads of postings..
  5. I'd really apreciate support for the 3dConnexion devices.
  6. You will never get transparency. You can get it translucent with still visible inperfections. If you want transparency, look for making a mold and cast a clear resin that does't shrink too much and has no color tint.
  7. I can still see a lot of lines. Probably polygon-edges and not layers. Are they gone after a slightly thicker color-coat? What kind of surface-quality do people find acceptable and do are your models convex with flat surfaces or concave and highly rounded? That makes a ton of differences in how it can be post-processed at all.
  8. About 3DSolex: They write about a 6 month guarante for the TF2K couplers (http://3dsolex.com/teflon-replacements) and just in the next sentence tell you "no guarantee". Sadly I can't find any "contact" or "about us" with an email address on their site. So I can't ask. They don't even tell you what country/continent 3DSolex is located in.
  9. No, you have to wait 6 month for the design files of the Ultimaker 2+ to be relased to the public.
  10. Neutrales grau. Kannst du in meinem Blog sehen.
  12. As there has never been a way to mount 2 spools, I think that's no new problem.
  15. I'd offer to test it with nGen and waxes in addition to PLA/PHA but based on the results I see here the current version of the IPM liner to replace the PTFE one is a failure already.
  16. You don't know what exactly will be offered later this quarter.
  17. Meine Probleme haben sich gelöst, nachdem ich das Cold-Pull mit PLA/PHA mache und den PTFE-Einsatz ausgetauscht hab. Letzterer hat minimal was abbekommen beim Wechsel.
  18. well, their tolerances are certainly tight... everyone who did an Olson Block update would know. .. fitting a fragile 3.0mm capsule into a 3. 0mm hole.
  19. It's already a great design and after many other printers I found to be the first that was reliable and accurate enough for me. I'm glad to see that there still isn't much to be improves because it's already great. A bit expensive maybe and with issues getting small spare parts without spending a fortune and having an office on hotel to ship it to. But I accept that. (and with a terrible forum software)
  20. How would that increase build volume? What you win on the left side, you loose on the right side.
  21. It's the Olsson block. So the stell nozzle still fits. But I guess the default will still be a brass one.
  22. Darn.... I planned on having 2 Olsson blocks for 2.85mm and 1.75mm filament and remove the unused nozzle to not have it hit anything and keep things perfectly reliable.
  23. I can't wait for the upgrade. Great job to stay with the design and allow for existing users to keep up to date instead of releasing a new one. I noticed the head stil has room for a second nozzle. As it was modified anyway, will it allow for an actual dual-head upgrade now? The second mount in the UM2 whas never oficially used. Have the spacers for the timing belt pulleys been fixed? The belts are always grinding on one side and not centered because the spacer is 0.5-1.0mm too short. That was the case with my older Ultimaker II and my newer Ultimaker II extended and I noticed it consistently on a few other UM2 machines. You'll notice dark timing belt shavings on the stepper, below the belt, after a few thousand hours of operation. (No affect on reliability though but not just a cosmetical issue either.)
