[Octoprint with Cura 4.9.1 with Raspberry Pi4b to Ultimker 2 not printing]

Hi all,

 

I am not sure if this topic has been sorted, but i installed the Cura plugin for Octoprint and have the Raspberry setup and have all the firmware updates.  I can control the Ultimker printer, but cant upload a file and print from the Octoprint interface and also cant send print from Cura I have tried all the Gcode flavors and nothing communicates.

I print lots of small parts and attach them together with small printed pins. Not quite as small as Daids, but I mirror his comments.

Low temp + slow speed is the way to go. Also there's some PLA that's more viscous than others, I find the viscous ones work well for small parts as they don't ooze as much. I print small single parts like pins at 40mm/s @ 30%-50% on the controller.

Orientation is most important for details for small parts I think.

 

How big is this part and what size nozzle did you use?

I have had issues trying to print with the .25mm from the Olson Block. Details are bad. You reccon slowing down and reducing temperature would help.

Hi @ampirical2016, are you talking about an Ultimaker 2 or Ultimaker Original?

What is it you are having difficulties with?

 

The 4 screws on the UM2 that holds the fan in place. Really bad design. Rest of the machine is great so far

My Olsson block is installed, but it seems like now my nozzle connection is touching the fan casing. I have tried multiple things to get it to clear, but there seems to be no room for adjustment. The four fan screws are in just enough, and still the nozzle is touching fan casing. Tried tightening and loosening the nozzle screw itself with no luck. Any ideas.

You guys really need to re-design how the screws install the fan in place. I have been fighting these damn screws forever to get the four in. Worst design ever.

I have attached a picture of the starting print. Its a flight for a dart. Just seems to be having issues printing small things. The flights of this dart do have a small wall thickness.

Any ideas on how to improve this. We have had the Ultimaker 2 for a couple weeks now and have had good success printing larger objects.
